My Birthday
Just wanted to say thanks for the birthday hug in the early hours of my birthday - what a way to start the day, then finish it off with an incredible concert!!! Didn't really get out the things I wanted to say so here it is...Happy (belated) B-day and huge congrats for an awesome year! I've been lucky enough to attend 5 shows (2 in the 2nd row) and I can't wait to see you again this year. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you soon! Love, love, love you,

Daughtry Rocked Out!
4-7-07 7-13-07 7-14-07
10-8-07 12-18-07 4-27-08
WORTH THE WAIT!!!!
Like many other fans that have posted here, I too, was not aware of the 3 opening bands before Daughtry. Dirty University was awesome, esp. the U2 cover. My friend and I didn't even see the other 2 opening acts cause we were out in the "smoking area" talking with Mikey and the other guys from Dirty U!! They are very down to earth, and appreciative guys, and I hope they make it big!! We were more than ready for Daughtry to hit the stage, and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED!! I have attended hundreds of concerts over the years and I have to say with all honesty that they have moved to #1 for live acts that I've seen. There was so much energy that night, it was amazing. Chris and the rest of the band were absolutely giving it 110% that night. And to the people that were posting about "think about the people that have lives/jobs" all I have to say is it was their choice to attend a mid week concert, and they should have made arrangements before hand. Things don't always run on schedule, and you should always have a back up plan...I got home at 2am and worked the next day (I' m a nurse) and then went home and slept 12 hours!!! BUT I'D DO IT ALL AGAIN!!!! Looking forward to the Daughtry/Bon Jovi show in Tampa in April, and if anyone has any tips on how to meet Daughtry, give me a shout!!! It would make my year!!!
LOVE YOU ALL DAUGHTRY!!!!
HOT SHOW IN ORLANDO!
12th show I have seen in 12 months and it was awesome! DAUGHTRY gave it there all and it showed. Hard Rock Live is a good place to see a show.
I have to say, I was impressed by the way Dirty University was received, but disappointed by the way You Are I Am and The Midway State were treated. Also very disappointed in some of what has been written under this event. Come on guys, DAUGHTRY fans are far better than that! I have seen the band many times and the shows were in several different states. I have been to shows with 1, 2, and 3 opening bands before and have never seen an audience respond that way. Please try to keep this in mind, DAUGHTRY chooses the openers and are trying to give them an opportunity to get their music exposed and possibly get signed. The bands are all very talented and some are personal friends of Chris and the band. Maybe they may not be a band you would want to continue to follow, but at the very least, we should all be respectful towards them. How would you feel if you or your friend were treated disrespectfully while you were working? Think of it this way, you never know who the next big band is going to be and with 4 bands playing that night, you can't say that they didn't try to give you your money's worth! As for the people who left prior to DAUGHTRY taking the stage, I'm sorry that your schedule did not allow you to see their amazing set. Hopefully you will be able to see the guys perform live in the future when you can plan the night better. DAUGHTRY really is amazing live!

You girls were right behind me in line. And, that's funny, because we talked a couple months ago on here when tickets went on sale and I said that maybe I'd see you at the concert! Didn't know we'd be hanging out all day with each other, did we? I had fun. Ya'll were sweethearts. I'll be in Tampa for the Bon Jovi show in April.
Hope you had the Best Birthday ever!!!!

I found him on myspace, of course.... He is 19!!!!!!! I know they didnt make them like that back when I was 19, especailly that talented. I was in that group of girls that was yelling at him. Although I didnt yell "your sexy" to him, he looked right at me as if I said it. I was alittle embarrassed, but hey, it was all good and funny.

I wish it never ended
heyy that was the best concert of my life except that i stood for about 5 hours straight but it was worth it except the second band my favorite band was the 4th one and the 1st one was good too u guys r both on my top on myspace any ways had lots of fun xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo love ya Kay
First Concert! Not the last baby!
Wow! is really the first thing that comes to mind. I am still babbling about the concert to my husband two days later (don't worry he's used to it). I had such a blast. I am originally from Orlando and now live in Georgia, so I had to make the drive to see Daughtry in my home town. And they were definately worth the trip!
As a Daughtry concert virgin let me just say that was one of the best concerts I have been to, and I am an avid concert goer. The set was awesome and the energy from the band was phenomenal. However, my favorite part of the show was definately the acoustic, I just enjoy hearing all the power of Chris' voice without any interference. And the new song for the forthcoming record... AWESOME! I am just so blessed to have been there with my girl Tracy and we were second row rockin!
I would also like to address the opening acts and the rudeness displayed that night. I am ashamed of my hometown for being so immature. Most everyone on here has been whining of how long they had to stand and wait and how long the show lasted... I would just like to say that I am 6 1/2 months pregnant AND I had to drive to and from Ga just for the show (from work that day and back in time for work on Wed), so honestly I wish everyone would just suck it up and 'quitcherb****in'! Every ache in my feet and back was worth it, that show rocked. I personally enjoy seeing local and other opening bands. I have found alot of favorites just from seeing them as an opening act. As I said before I have been to countless concerts and NEVER have I seen the main act go on at the ticket time.
Anywho!!! That was such a wonderful experience, especially with Thomas in my belly kicking along to Daughtry! Gotta start 'em young. :0) I will definately be a familiar face at that man's shows! Wonderful stage presence and energy! Plus he is hilarious. All around a great time!

DAUGHTRYOBSESSED <3 Live to rock
Now for my more detailed review...LOL!
I have shortened this from the original as I tend to get quite long winded, as anyone who knows me can attest!
So here goes....
The opening notes of Crashed caused my heart to beat in triple time....and after what seemed a lifetime, the curtains opened and it was ON! I wanted to take it all in, like a kid on Christmas morning....just look, savor and let myself be swallowed up by the entire experience. Y'all know the setlist, I won't reiterate it here, but my take on some of the highlights:
Imagine - what can I say? Tears ran down my face as I looked up into the face of this gorgeous man with his angelic voice, singing a song that meant so much to me in my youth and that still has so much meaning for me today. John Lennon himself was smiling down Tuesday night as Chris gave that beautiful song his own inimitable turn, creating one of the most incredible moments in my very long history of concert going. I am in awe.
Crazy Train - how much do I love Josh Steely? A TON!!!!! I haven't danced reggae in a loooooooooong time, but the man had me moving!!! What a fabulous addition to the set! It is so lovely to see these guys having so much fun on stage together! Mr. Steely, I am yours forever!!! (with Mary's permission, of course!)
Paradise City and Home Sweet Home - the original bands who performed these songs couldn't have done any justice to these covers!
and then, TABA with Hey, Man - dear Lord, what heat! My skin tingled, my face was flushed and I had the biggest grin on my face....hard to hide that kind of adoration, I guess, but the guys didn't seem to mind.
Chris gets so into this particular performance, it is nearly voyeuristic to watch. But watch I did and love it, well, you know I did!! It was my sincere pleasure to witness such a passionate display of the man's talent. I make no apologies. I just heart him!!!
The exchange on stage between the guys is so comfortable, like they have been together forever. Their timing is superb, their musicianship top notch. Watching Brian and JP canter around the stage, Steely confirming his deserved title of modern day guitar god, Chris relating to the audience like it's just a few friends around the living room jamming and digging each other....and then there's Joey. God bless Joey Barnes, who came to the Rock Show bare-chested and wearing a kilt!! Now, I love me a man in a skirt and Joey Barnes is no exception. The man blows me away with his physical strength, stamina and presence. When the show was over, he walked to the edge of the stage where we stood and handed a drum stick to Sherry, to my left, and to her sister, Patty, to Sherry's left. My friends, that made their day!! Joey, you're ok in my book, darlin'! Even if you do have better legs than I have!!
Then, too soon, it was over. The lights came up, the roadies began striking the stage, packing away the equipment and getting ready to head to the next show. I couldn't wipe the grin off my face - still can't, actually. It was one for the books. And one for my heart. I had basked in the glory and the love that is the Big Rock Show, Daughtry, circa 2007. If this were to be my final show, I could certainly ask for no more than my experience Tuesday night. For the band, it has all come together as it was meant to be....with 5 beautiful, talented, amazing men who have become a force of love, light and music. For me, it was simply magic. And I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Awesome Show
To all the members of Daughtry, you guys are awesome. This was my second show and I will gladly see Daughtry 100 more times if I get the chance. As for the opening acts, the way the Daughtry fans treated them was not classy. We hung around until 1:30 waiting to see if Daughtry would sign autographs and ran into the guys from Midway State outside. What a great bunch of young guys. They were down to Earth and just cool. My friend and I only talked to them for about 15 minutes but it was like we knew them forever. They're just young guys who grew up together trying to make it. And no one who was at the show can say they didn't give it their all. Everyone needs a break!
We met some awesome people at the concert. It was well worth standing in the same place since 7:00 p.m. Chris and the guys could not have done it any better. Awesome job guys!!! As for the other Daughtry fans, keep rocking, you guys are the best. Just try to be a little nicer to opening acts, Chris didn't have them out their to be treated that way!! God Bless!
About those passes.....
...according to the Hard Rock employees, those passes were good only after they had been activated which takes about 24 hours, and were being limited to x amount of people to enter the venue earlier than the fans without them. Obviously, it turned out to be a "scam" since no one was checked for the all access pass nor were we allowed in early. The employees actually told us that we didnt have to wait in line that we could just show back up at 6pm and get right in. I had a feeling it wouldnt work that way and got in line anyways. As far as me personally not telling anyone about the pass, is because I didnt want to sit in line for 10 hours and have others with the pass arrive and get right in, even though I had the pass, I was leary. The same thing happened in Myrtle Beach at HOB. Its a way for the venues to make more money!
Anyways on with the show aspect, It was by far the best show yet, This was #6 for me and they have definately made some changes since last seeing them in October. I loved the Dirty University, but could have done without the others. Midway State tried like hell, but just werent up to par. Some of there music was ok, but I think everyone just wanted the show to move along. What was up with the fro?
Pass or no pass, I will sit my butt in line all day for front row to see this band. They amaze me each and every time. To all the Naughtry's that I met this week, I had a blast. Those 2 days will be forever in my memory book.

Daughtry Rocked Orlando
Your concert was the very best I have seen in a while .. However the way some of the fans acted towards the opening acts were completely disrespectful.. I am sure that we were all taught better than that!!! For people to act like that was only showing their immaturity!!!!!! Congrats on such a great show and Hope to see you soon... Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Good luck in the comming year!!!!!
----- Lotts of Love to you!!!

The new song you did from the next album was in my opinion one of your best songs!!!! Keep up the great work cant wait till your back in Orlando!!!!
Concert times
I wasn't at the show, but just wanted to weigh in on the comments about concert times and opening bands. Though I honestly haven't counted, I know I"ve been to hundreds of concerts over the years (seriously!) I don't expect a show to end before 11 - EVER. And that doesn't matter what the start time is on the ticket. Depending on how long the main act has been around (meaning - how much material they have to play), the start time is anywhere from 8:30 to 10. Often a local band will be a last minute addition at a venue...everyone has to start somewhere.
My music taste varies wildly...and some artists who don't have an opening band use a lot of "filler" to make it to the 11pm end time (i.e Jimmy Buffett - hides from the laughter!) Bruce Springsteen and the Dave Matthews Band are 2 notable exceptions - they tend to actually PLAY for 2+hours. Bon Jovi did too when I saw them in NJ.
I've seen some great opening bands over the years...and I've seen some I really don't care for. I realize it's harder at a GA show to leave the area while waiting for the main act, but you might actually like something you hear. I'm not a fan of The Midway State - and I tried by listening to them on myspace before the NYC shows. I was worried about how I'd take it since NYC was a GA show. I felt bad for the guys because they were trying to get the crowd into it - thank God for "Killer" LMAO. But booing is not classy.
Just my 2cents
BLOWN AWAY BLOWN AWAY!!!!
I AM SO BLESSED!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR DEDICATION TO THE LOVE OF MUSIC & YOUR FANS!!!!! You guys are truly blessed to have been placed together!!! I can't describe the joy I felt from listening to you all play, seeing you from the front row, and to be honored by your humble presence after the performance....Indescribable!!!!
Chris thanks for Loving your Fans! Kudos to you all!!! I am dreaming til I see you all live again!!! I hope and pray you continue to get joy from touring....I will travel to see you again!!!! XOXO
Jodi...it was a real blessing to be there with you!!! Here's to the next one!!!
P.S. I floated the hour+ drive home!!!! Praise God got to sleep and woke at 7 to see my Baby Girl perform at her Christmas show!!! (she's 4)...it was phenomenal!!! IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!
I am still off the chart!!!
Great Show!
Have to say i'm one of many that watched Chris Daughtry on American Idol, and almost stopped watching when he was voted off the show. I'm glad to see that DAUGHTRY has outdone his competitors in the long run!
Last nights show was amazing. Great lighting effects, awesome stage, and great energy. Like everyone else, the three acts were a little tiresome especially when you didn't realize the next 2 1/2 hours were opening acts...but, all in all, well worth the wait.
Sound was sweet, the energy filled through the entire Venue as DAUGHTRY hit the stage. Playing each song from their album, engaging in the crowd, and acting like a down to earth group of guys...good times.
I agree, the booing was rude, and felt sorry for our Canadian friends trying to get heard and a possible break.
Thanks for a terrific show! Will definitely be looking foward to the next concert!
..side note, what exactly are the "all access" passes that were hush hush? What i'd miss out on!
~Eclypze~
LIKE A FINE WINE........
YOU GET BETTER WITH AGE!!!! Point is with each concert I go to you guys get better and better!!! I always say that was the best concert EVER when I leave BUT LAST NIGHT WAS TRULY AWESOME!!!! Hearing you sing IMAGNE was magical!!! You guys are so good and I am so proud to know that I have been a fan since the day I saw you on IDOL!!! Thanks so much for all you guys do for the fans and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!! ENJOY THE TIME WITH YOUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!!! AND CHRIS HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Love to ya all!!!

daughtry rocks!!!
memories and friends I will cherish!
Where do I begin? ahhhhhhhhh! Thank you Daughtry for putting on on heck of a show. This was my 7th Daughtry concert and I am still amazed everytime I see you!
Tiff and Ricki - we missed you!
The last two days have left me wiped out, but I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. The line was great. What a day, huh? Finally get to hang with Lisa! Who knows? I have a feeling we will probably be doing this again. I just wanted to say that I spent these days with some terrific people. Jags, Steph, Badgebunny!, GinaMae, PattyC, and Jackie - OMG you ladies are the best. I can't imagine this time without you! And our line friends, Lisa, RobinB, Denise, Twyla, Nancy, and awwwwwwww Mel! Love all you girls. (and Sharpie too)
Couple comments on the show....."Imagine" and "All These Lives were exquisite. Dirty University was the first band and they were great. I really liked them and I thought it was cool that he came out and sang "Home" with Daughtry!
oh - and let's not forget "Happy Birthday Vegas"
As for the opening band thing......I will chime in. I admit I was not happy about 3 opening bands, but I knew that was the case before the show. IT WAS ON THE VENUE SIGN. Everyone was tired and ready for Daughtry. "You Are I am" was good, but I think they just were not the right kind of music for the majority of Daughtry fans there. Midway State was a better fit. I kept thinking Coldplay while watching them. ok anyway, I'm buying a Dirty University CD this week. They impressed me.
Kudos to Daughtry for once again raising the bar. Loved it!

Such an incredible night!!
I have to start out by gushing! I was incredibly fortunate to have gotten to meet Daughtry last night and bring them a Christmas gift. I'm hoping they loved it!! They were so wonderful to me!!! The Hard Rock security....ha! They tried to rush me out, but Chris told him we were having a chat! That was so nice of him. Anyway, that was the highlight for me last night. But the concert was outstanding...of course!!! I wore totally unsensible shoes, so my feet didn't want to stand through 3 acts. However, I appreciate that Chris is trying to give groups their big break as he has been there done that....very cool! This is the second Florida Daughtry concert that I have been to where some of the fans have been negative and turn on them in moment. I don't like that at all. I want Daughtry to want to come back. If we're rude, they won't do that. And there really was nothing to get upset about. I also was able to touch Chris twice at the end of the concert. Yay! I had a fantastic time and can't wait for their return!!!! Love you guys!!! You're the absolute best!!! ALWAYS!!!!
daughtry was awesome at hard rock live

Best concert ever.....
I have wanted to see Daughtry for so long and I wasn't disappointed last night. They were AWESOME! Loved every minute of their show. I will agree that having 3 support bands was too much but really enjoyed Dirty University. Thank you, Chris and the band, for a very special evening. I look forward to seeing you all again with Bon Jovi in Tampa. I just managed to get tickets after days of trying!
AMAZING NIGHT!!
I definitely agree that the opening bands should not have been booed. That was uncalled for and unecessary. It's your choice to attend a concert in the middle of the week and concerts don't always start on time. But anywho, i loved every minute of my night! I thought dirty university were amazing (especially because i'm from west palm myself!) =) DAUGHTRY of course delivered...and i do think this concert was so much better then the past concerts i've been to! You guys keep getting better and better! Chris, you have the cutest personality! Deanna is such a lucky woman!
COME BACK TO FLORIDA SOON!!!!!!
Just for the record...
the opening acts last night were:
Dirty University, a pretty decent rock band from West Palm Beach who did one of the best U2 covers I've ever heard, "Where the Streets Have No Name". Very charismatic front man with a good voice and stage presence.
You Are I Am, eclectic sound from a group of guys who were obviously ALL about the music! Love the lead singer's voice, especially when he went for those notes in the upper register....and he performs barefoot!!
Gotta love that!
The Midway State from Toronto, Canada, is a very talented group of guys with their own unique sound and look. I have to mention here that, not knowing anything about these guys, they look EXTREMELY young but performed very well with melodic songs and nice vocals.
Each band had their own special sound and presence....they performed original music (except for the U2 cover mentioned earlier) and deserved to be respectfully seen and heard.

THIS IS MY STORY
Dirty University was outstanding! the second band not so much i mean a fight like broke out while they were preforming...and by the time Mid-Way State went on everybody was so ready for Daughtry that they just booed them and i felt horribly because they didnt deserve it and i was like the one sceaming out "I STILL LOVE YOU!"but yeah it was crazy. and when yall came out i lost my voice. You guys made me speechless and you were breathtaking.
the only down side is that i didnt get to meet you or take a picture so hopefuly next time?

I agree.........
OldHippieChick I agree with you that the opening acts didn't deserve to be booed. But being one of those "fans" that booed I never have been to any concert and had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the opening act to come on. A friend even called Hard Rock and they told them there were no opening acts.By the time Daughtry came on it was a great concert but the aggrevation did put a damper on it. The Hard Rock could stand to have turned on the a/c more than the few times it would kick on. I'm quite sure they make enough money that they could have better circulation! Having been up front witnessed 2 people pass out. I absolutely love Chris and much prefer when he played at Mardi Gras at Universal than at the Hard Rock.
With all due respect...
nearly every ad I saw for this show, including at the HRL box office, stated "supporting acts" or actually listed them. The bands themselves did NOT deserve to be insulted because a few people were disappointed that the show would end at a later time. I got home at 1:30, got to bed at 3:00 and got up at 6:30 to go to work. I also have a life and a job, for which none of those 3 bands are responsible. It was my choice to attend a midweek rock concert after all.

WAS THERE BUT DIDN'T GET TO SEE DAUGHTRY!
Dear Chris: The next time you schedule a weeknight show, please start your show within a reasonable amount of time. After arriving at 7:30 pm and waiting through 3 opening acts, we had to leave the Hard Rock at 10 p.m. and completely missed your show!! I have waited all year and couldn't believe it when I had to go home because my babysitter had to go to school in the morning. Please remember what it's like to work regular hours and have kids at home!

Fans should have been warned!
IF the warm-up bands don't want to get booed, then the promoters of the concert need to change their title from "Daughtry concert" to "a concert of several bands, featuring Daughtry".
Three opening bands is ridiculous! By the time he hit the stage, everyone around was tired and angry! As wonderful as the concert finally was, the aggravation put a damper on it. I have never seen so many people leave a concert early (but, it was running too late for people who have lives/jobs).
The opening bands deserved better...
...than what they got from some 'fans' at the show last night. We were all there to see Chris and the band, but the chanting and booing while those performers were on stage were extraordinarily rude and disrespectful. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior.

Great show...but 3 openers?
Okay, I have to say that it was certainly worth the wait, but 3 opening acts? I'm not sure i understand the need for that (i guess it is more rest time for the band since they are performing non-stop!) but when the first band ended, I was getting soo excited. Then i found out there were TWO MORE? I wanted to scream. I did feel bad for midway state getting booed, but just like "crazyoverchris" said, everyone was just getting restless. I hope to see him again in April in Tampa with Bon Jovi - that is going to be a concert you DON'T want to miss!!
