Daughtry never fails to exceed expectations! The venue was a little strange..( a gym?), but they never missed a beat!
My favorite song of the night was when Chris added the cover of Whitesnake's "Still of the Night"..that song just brought the whole place alive for some reason!!
The guys were full of energy too and we got to see JP and Chris' new tats for the first time!
Thanks for an amazing concert that makes me look forward to the last two that I have in NC later this month!!
As a teenager full of angst, I took heed to rock and roll, never mind sex and drugs. I spent most of my time banging my head to the astonishing depth of Led Zeppelin, the depressing tranquility of Kurt Cobain, the pure rawness of Guns and Roses, and the culminating riffs of Pink Floyd. I craved the thundering of the drums, percussive tone of the bass guitars, and the thought-provoking lyrics. Like most deaf people, I would spend countless of hours passionately trying to learn the lyrics, if I was lucky, they were printed on the insert. When the lyrics were not printed, I sought the soundless gum flapping renditions from my friends and the rare event of close captioning on MTV and VH1 music videos. I had a better chance of seeing Halley’s Comet. Then the mother lode entered my humble abode, the internet and I was formally introduced at a ripe age of sixteen. The world and the lyrics were at my fingertips. Finally, I was content because my lip-syncing ability exceeded my friends. I felt that I proved that I was no different from anyone else, but then again no one else spent hours listening to the same song repeatedly committing the words to memory. Rock and roll was my ultimate solace while my hormones were running amiss until the pleasant tone of guitars started to wither away from the melody.
Rock and roll never sounded the same. A proper analogy is that you could never look at a smashed mirror the same again after seeing countless of pleasing reflection. Rock and roll and all the esoteric elements slipped away. I hopelessly wondered from genre to genre discovering that I could hear mostly bass. At least I could still hear voices. When I heard Chris Daughtry’s voice for the first time on American Idol, I knew he was going to go places even after hearing that he was voted off. His voice had the passion and soulful resonance of successful rock and rollers before him. Just hear that kind of voice again stirred up of emotions that lied dormant for years. Then his voice and all others started fading from songs replaced by white noise. They began to fade from the telephone and the television. Eventually voices faded from people that were fifteen feet away, then ten, then two. Music was never heard, only felt the sensations from that point on.
The cochlear implant rescued me from a world of silence. Music returned better then ever and victory was ever so sweet. To celebrate, my wonderful and incredibly thoughtful friends surprised me with SECOND row tickets to see Chris Daughtry’s concert this past Friday! I have only been to one concert my entire life and it was horrible. This was simply breath taking and an absolutely amazing experience to hear. Daughtry intimately approached the microphone and began to serenade the audience that just so happens to include one happy bionic woman. His sultry voice possesses Herculean power that tickled every single electrode of mine that was happily downloading his every pitch. His dulcet tones are incredibly diverse, savory sweet that had the power to beat your heart to powerfully rockonian with a just a drop of southern comfort. He did an acoustic rendition of “All These Lives” that when I closed my eyes, I felt that he was sitting right next to me soulfully playing the guitar. His passionate performance brought the memories of jejune moments of the yesteryear. It was so surreal and captivating all at the same time.
As always, this show rocked. It was a little strange being in a gym, and a little uncomfortable sitting on bleachers but, hey for Daughtry it's all worth it.
I didn't care to much for the two opening bands, actually the second one was painful to sit through. But finally it was time.
I had good seats (side stage 116 second row) so I was able to see Chris before he made his entrance, pretty cool.
Chris wasn't feeling well but he still gave it his all and sounded great. He was pretty funny up there with his convo with the audience. Talking about the Grammy's and all...
And speaking of the crowd, it was very mixed, alot of families.
Anyway, the Band sounded phenominal!! They have grown so much as musicians and preformers in such a short time.
Well, I cut out in the middle of TABA (my fave, by the way) because I wanted it to be my turn to have an encounter (after 4 shows I had never had one, not that I ever tried, but you start to read about how almost everyone else has and you think Hey what about me) So I got my place right up against the baricade. After a long time JP came out and signed autograph and took pics with everyone. That was great he was sweet. And an even longer while later Chris came out and came over and started signing autographs, it was very nice of him to do considering how he felt and that it was freezing out. People were praising him and all he could do was whisper thank you (poor guy) I was like oh feel better, Blah Blah Blah, Rest your voice, Blab Blah... I was a complete muttering star struck fan. Then I nearly blinded the poor guy by snapping a pic right in his face as he was directly in front of me signing my ticket, I felt sooo bad, and apologized but I think he was thinking look at this crazy nut blinding me.
But I was very happy and I'm still obsessing over every detail. Thank you all for a great night.
And thanks to the girl next to me who was nice enough to take mine and JP's picture. I was by myself, I had brought my mother to the show but she opted to wait in the car as I stalked the tour bus.

My feet were numb but I didn't care, I got to see all of you which totally made my night. It was so sweet of Chris and Brian to comment about the DAUGHTRY picture I drew, that really meant a lot to me, thanks guys. My friend Kathy was so impressed with how nice you all were to her two sons Tommy and Kevin, you made their year!!!!
Joey, thanks for the free hug and for giving the rest of the band my drawings, love ya!
Thanks JP for the autograph, I know you were freezing and wanted to get into the bus but you stopped for me and I appreciate it. I forgot to show you my sign, I did what you asked I added a Big Smile and A Pure Thought of Happiness to my Free Hugs sign. It read, This Jersey girl is sending Free Hugs, A big smile and a Thought of pure happiness, DAUGHTRY's way! This one girl stopped me to read it and said, "I don't get it." I told her it is a DAUGHTRY thing and laughed!
Josh, hope you don't mind that when you waved the girls over to you, I joined them to steal a pix. Forgot to get your autograph in all the frenzy There is always next time, hopefully. Great job on Crazy train!
BTW Brian, you SO could be a model, loved the pose you gave the girls!!!!!!

Tom's River fans had a great show. Aren't they all!!! Sorry to hear Chris isn't feeling well. Get well soon, Chris. Looking forward to the Syracuse show!! Take care of yourself. xo
I can not thank you guys enough for pulling out all the stops last night! The music just keeps getting better...this was my 8th show and I love seeing and hearing the new twists on everything. Chris, you were such a gentleman to acknowledge the 4 of us who were waiting near the buses before the show....thanks for saying hi to us after taking care of your suitcases! And it was so gracious of you and JP to take the time to sign autographs and shake hands after the show, even though you were not feeling well; BTW, you'd never know it, based on your performance and crowd interaction last night! And I LOVE the new tat!
Congrats on the 4 Grammy nods and maybe Bruce will so NOT kick your ass! LOL
Thank you again for an amazing night.
Last night the band put on a great show!! Loved every aspect of it. Hope Chris feels better soon. The concert was great!!! The new song was amazing!! And Daughtry will win against Bruce at the Grammy's NO DOUBT! Congrats again guys on the nominations and an amazing show last night!!!!!!!!!
What can I say other than AWESOME!
The show was everyting I expected and more, these boys can jam!
Even better than that - Josh Paul came out & took pcitures & singed autographs..
then Chris came out & signed too! No pictures, but hey - it was great to talk to him and
tell him how awesome I think he is!
Congratulations on your Grammy Nominations! Bruce is Ass Out this time!
Thanks for a great show!
The concert was awesome! But meeting Joey, JP and Chris made the whole night! I will post pictures when I get home from work! It was a night I will remember for the rest of my life! Thank you guys for making a dream come true!
There are no words to describe the ride home with my little girl last night. We had 6th row seats to begin with but when everyone went up front, we found our own way front and center. Thanks to the great fans who pulled my daughter in front of them until she got to the front. We went home with a memento of a crushed water bottle used to spray the crowd, handed right to her. But even better, when you ran between the stage and crowd to smack hands and stopped, grabbed both of Sydney's hands and made the same star struck face at her that she had for you, you had a bunch of us rolling with laughter.
The band smiled at the kids up front all night long and left memories for little girls that will last long after they're older than the parents who took them.
You guys are the best live entertainers that I've seen in a very long time. (And I've seen Bruce, you will kick his a**) Thank you so much for the great show, and one friendly enough to bring kids to It's awesome to have a band that rocks, and rocks hard without being disgusting.
I wish I knew you came out and signed autographs, We most certainly would have come out to say hi. Maybe next time.
Thank you a million times over!!!!!!!!!!!
Feel better and have a wonderful holiday season. I know this show will be a topic at our family Christmas dinner!!!!!!
Hey, I heard through the grapevine that Chris got a new celtic tattoo on his bicep? Did anyone get a pic of him w/ it that was at the show last night? If so, could someone please post one? I'm just dying to see a pic of him w/ his new ink!
You guys rocked last night!!!! Sorry to hear you didnt feel well Chris, hope you feel better soon. Thanks so much for putting on a great show. I loved every song you did including your new one, can't wait for the next cd. You were well worth the wait. I had missed you guys in Hershey due to complications but made sure I didnt miss you guys the second time around.
I am also glad cause you guys came outside after and signed autographs. Thank you so much, I managed to get my ticket autographed by Chris and a few pictures.
Congrats on your four Grammy nominations.
You guys should beat Bruce's a** like you said!!!
I hope to see you guys again in concert. Thanks again. You guys rocked!
Thanks for an amazing show last night, even more amazing since you didn't feel well, Chris!
It was kind of surreal at first, being in the place that it was, a gym, and lots of families! But our seats were up front, so close, the place rocked, you rocked. Thank You!!! And, loved the new song, "Back to Me," looking forward to the new CD.
I was on the floor so I couldn't see anything but that didn't matter cause you guys sounded great!!! I never thought I'd be so happy having such a sore throat. The show never gets old!You guys never disappoint, thank you for a great night!!

~~Michelle in Jersey~~
Addicted and not looking for rehab
The night started out a little slow but it was so worth the wait! We had section D floor seats and could not see a thing so we snuck up the side aisle and ended up with an awesome view. It was a great show and we got to hear the new song "Back to Me"..........WOW....I cannot wait for a new album.....We hung around by the buses after as well and almost left right before Chris came out......I would have been so mad! He was so gracious and you could tell he really wasn't feeling well at all. I am still pinching myself. It was so awesome to tell him personally how much I appreciate his music and the band. Next Stop, Bon Jovi/Daughtry 3/2/08......My Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!

DAUGHTRY OBSESSED
Hey everyone I also just got home alittle bit ago, my daughter and I hung out afterward and got to meet Jos, then seen Chris, got our CD signed also, this was our frist, and won't be our last, you guys rocked the house, and I also enjoyed the shower up front,it was great.
Good luck on the rest of your tour, feel better, and hope to see you guys soon.
Keep Rocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much love from Toms River, can't wait to print out photos so I can put them all over my school bus, my kids will love me for that....................lol..........
One more thing Days Of Fire Rocked the house too..............
Just got home from the show a little while ago and I have to say that it was great! To Daughtry: thanks for giving all of us a kick a** show(even though you weren't feeling well Chris)!! I got to forget about all of the BS in my life for the entire time you guys were onstage. Can't wait to see you again in March (maybe by then my throat will stop being sore from singing along so much tonight.LOL)!!
My only complaint about tonight, and I know the band doesn't control this, but the tix said the show started at 7:00pm-so we got there at 7:00pm figuring we would probably catch the end of the opening act-but the show didn't start until 8:00pm??!! Then there were 2 opening acts, so by the time they played and reset the stage(twice), it was 10:00pm before Daughtry went on stage. So we were in our seats 3 hours before Daughtry played a note. It made for a very long night. Great but long.
Daughtry: you were definitely worth the wait...I just wish we would have known the correct starting time before leaving the house.
Rock on guys....IrishJrsyGirl
P.S. Chris I hope you feel better real soon! And those Grammy's should have been yours!!!
Just got in from the show, and all I can say is WOW!! This is my third time seeing Daughtry and they just keep getting better and better. It was a long night, but so worth the wait. Chris, I hope you feel better and JP, thanks for hanging out after the show to take pics with your fans. A BIG congrats on your 4 Grammy nominations!
I, too, just got home from the concert! The show was awesome!! It was amazing. It was nice that the Ritacco Center was somewhat small - had great seats and the band rocked! I saw Daughtry with Bon Jovi and they were great but tonight they were even better! Chris has such an amazing voice and he just seems like such a genuinely nice guy. I took my five-year-old son who loves Daughtry and he was smiles ear to ear (up until he fell asleep - band went on a little after 10 p.m.). We even managed to get an autographed photo of the band thanks to my sister! Loved his new song and can't wait for new CD to be released!
Just got in from the show....the boys were great....loved the lighting and of course you Chris. Stay real. Thanks for the shower !!!

Thank You For a Fantastic Show!
I can not thank you guys enough for pulling out all the stops last night! The music just keeps getting better...this was my 8th show and I love seeing and hearing the new twists on everything.
The band rocked NJ lastnight

The show was everyting I expected and more, these boys can jam!
Even better than that - Josh Paul came out & took pcitures & singed autographs..
then Chris came out & signed too! No pictures, but hey - it was great to talk to him and
tell him how awesome I think he is!
Congratulations on your Grammy Nominations! Bruce is Ass Out this time!
Thanks for a great show!
I got to meet Them!
The concert was awesome! But meeting Joey, JP and Chris made the whole night! I will post pictures when I get home from work!
It was a night I will remember for the rest of my life! Thank you guys for making a dream come true!
Luv ya!
Chrissy
Made my 11 Year Old's Whole Year!
Chris and crew,
There are no words to describe the ride home with my little girl last night.
I know this show will be a topic at our family Christmas dinner!!!!!!
chris' new tattoo?

Great Show
Thanks for an amazing show last night, even more amazing since you didn't feel well, Chris!
It was kind of surreal at first, being in the place that it was, a gym, and lots of families! But our seats were up front, so close, the place rocked, you rocked. Thank You!!! And, loved the new song, "Back to Me," looking forward to the new CD.
Awsome!!
I was on the floor so I couldn't see anything but that didn't matter cause you guys sounded great!!! I never thought I'd be so happy having such a sore throat. The show never gets old!You guys never disappoint, thank you for a great night!!

Addicted and not looking for rehab
AMAZING...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Show!!
Here is a pic of Chris from last night:
Awesome Show!!
I too just got in from the show. It was great. Hope you feel better soon Chris. Loved singing for you.....
AMAZING!!!!!!
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!
