the show was awesome. i got alot of pictures. i can not wait until you come back to missouri. you guys rock. i love you chris, keep rockin

So, i have been kinda busy since i got back into town from the cape show, but here's my review: So, my mother-in-law and i left st. louie around 10 am or so? anyway, it was a 2 1/2 hour drive down there and, of course, we listened to daughtry on the way to get pumped up for the show. We arrived to Cape around 1 pm and checked right into our hotel. We unloaded and freshened up and were out the door. on the way out of the hotel, i noticed something sexy out of the corner of my eye! it was a magazine with Chris on the front! i had to run back and grabbed a huge stack for us and some of the DO girls..thought they might want one also. anyway, we looked around the town for a while and drove to the show-me-center to find our where to park and all that jazz. well, we were supposed to meet the girls from DO at BWW at 4:30, so our plan was to drive around the show-me-center for a little while then to walgreens to buy a sharpie in case we met any of the guys. change of plans! when we got there, we found the buses right away and, to my surprise, there were already some fans standing out trying to meet the guys! i hurried up and found a parking spot. you could tell by my parking job that i was excited. can we say crooked? Smiling anyway, i walked up and asked, "is this the crazy fan line?" they all said yes, so, i knew that's where i was supposed to be. Eye-wink I met binkzack1, earmagic, stella1groove, and a few other girls from this website. they told me i had just missed J.P., but that's okay b/c i knew he would come out again later. well, i was right. J.P. and Steeley came out, but didn't come over to us..instead, they waved, got in a van with a very lucky girl, and headed to the mall. Steeley said he would be right back and i was excited since i had not met him yet. anyway, it was getting freezing, so i had to break out the big guns: my big winter coat! well, we waited a while longer and finally, Brian came off the bus! i was so excited! i got my picture with him and got his autograph. i was so distracted, i hadn't even realized joey was standing right next to me! of course i needed a pic with him too! the guys were so nice...they ended up leaving to go take showers before the show. well, chris did eventually come off the bus, but he just walked right into the building..i did get a good shot of him waving at us though...its under me and the band for those of you who have not seen that awesome picture yet. well, at that point, i pretty much figured nothing more exciting would happen and i was getting cold. well, the van came back with J.P. and Steeley and though they said they would come back, they just walked right into the building w/o any pics or autographs! Sad oh, well, i know they are busy. anyway, michelle and angela showed up and at that point, i was ready for some drinks at BWW....we headed over to the restaraunt and got to meet the very lucky VIP winner...who, by the way, got a call from RCA Ed as we were sitting there. well, we stayed there for a while, had some drinks, talked about daughtry, but then had to head back over to the show-me-center b/c a local radio station was holding a contest to win tickets and a m&g...we froze again for that and, unfortunately, none of us won the m&g....but it does get better. we finally got to enter the building and the ticket lady told us we had to put our names into the box by the bathrooms to win "upgraded" seats for the evening. of course there was 3000 or so people there, so as michelle's daughter said...we def. thought our chances were 0 to 0..or were they? well, we filled in a form, dropped it into the box, and found our seats...we had two extra tickets with us that day in section 121 i believe is what it was...they weren't great seats, but surely better than what someone in the building had. we scoped the place out for a bit and found two people with the furthest away seats in the house. we walked all the way up to the top and handed them our two extra tickets. at first, they seemed confused, but eventually realized they were going to be sitting closer to the stage, so they got grateful pretty quickly. well, we went and got some drinks and sat and waited for the concert to start. it felt really good to give those tickets away. i know we made there night. anyway, right before the concert started, a woman came over the loud speaker and announced that my mother in law was the winner of the "upgraded" seats!!!!!!! holy moly! we were stunned! it took a while to soak in the information, but when it did, we started yelling like crazy people and running for the ticket booth! we weren't exactly sure what "upgraded" meant, but we knew it had to be good! was it? HELL YEAH, IT WAS! WE WON FRONT ROW TICKETS!!!! Can you believe that? we got to be right in the front! we let those other people we had previously given tickets to have our other seats, so they got to sit even closer also! the show started and i thought i was dreaming....DOF was pretty good. kinda weird, in my opinion, but okay. the next band, not so much! in fact, at one point, i looked around and most of the front row had gotten up during their performance and i was sitting there by myself! that was a little weird...now to the good stuff...daughtry finally hit the stage and everyone was on there feet! i got aweswome shots of all the guys except for steely since he was on the oposite side from me and joey since he was way in the back...it was an ultimate dream come true for me, to say the least. the concert ended and after arguing with a security guard over a guitar pick for a while (we didn't win that battle by the wa! Sad ) we headed back by the buses. there were quite a few people trying to meet the guys afterward. i honestly did not think they would come out, but i was wrong! Brian and J.P. came out right away...then chris came out. he couldn't take pics since he was sick, but he did sign quite a few autographs for all of us. the buses were about to leave when i spotted joey! of course, i needed another pic with my joey! after all the bustle, we headed back to our hotel....many nice dreams in daughtry land...i put some pics up, so enjoy!!!! can't wait for the next concert! whhooooo!!!

Review: Former idol Daughtry gets Cape's vote
Friday, November 16, 2007
By Matt Sanders ~ Southeast Missourian

Chris Daughtry seems to have settled into this rock star gig with ease.
But after weathering a season of "American Idol" and taking his five-piece Daughtry on the road for a year, a guy probably gets used to pleasing the crowd.

Thursday night Daughtry brought the band that's named for him to the Show Me Center, flexing the strong vocal chops that made him the "American Idol" resident rocker and putting on a strong show for a large crowd of adoring fans, many of them females with a penchant for screaming "We love you, Chris." The band played before 3,712 people.

Two openers warmed up the crowd -- the Nashville, Tenn., hard rock four-piece Day of Fire and the Los Angeles melodic rock outfit You Are I Am.

Day of Fire seemed to impress the crowd with its high-octane sound that includes strong hints of hard rockers Stone Temple Pilots. Frontman Josh Brown, formerly of once up-and-coming band Full Devil Jacket, stomped around the stage with true rock-star swagger. He howled, he sprayed water on the crowd, he told the people to sing along.

While Brown's prodding didn't get the crowd totally engaged in Day of Fire's music, the band received a warm round of applause at the end of its set.

You Are I Am didn't fare as well. With a sound reminiscent of British melody bands like Coldplay and Muse, the band's set was far more subdued than Day of Fire's. Some points in You Are I Am's set saw the crowd waving cell phone lights in the air. But for the most part, the energy was flat, and the end of its set was met with relative silence.

But when Daughtry took the stage, the Show Me Center erupted. His band came out first, building up the anticipation. When the man Daughtry took the stage, the crowd roared.

The band blazed through hard-rocking, post-grunge anthems like "Crashed" and "Used To," employing heavy distortion and feedback squeals for a heavy sound. Daughtry posed like a true rock star, squeezing every ounce of emotion out of every note of the hits off his triple platinum debut "Daughtry."

Chris Daughtry had the crowd in the palm of his hand, easily getting them to sing along to every word of his super hit "It's Not Over." On each song, the former "Idol" contestant displayed the strong vocals that got him where he is -- a bona fide hitmaker whose songs can be heard on Top 40 and rock stations at any point of the day.

But Daughtry also showed his soft side, picking up an acoustic guitar and going solo in the middle of the set, driving his female fans even wilder.

Each song, whether hard-rocking and angry or gentle and reflective, was well executed by Daughtry and his four bandmates. Daughtry's music straddles the line between pop and rock, and at Thursday night's concert the band seemed to please an audience looking for both.

The sound was polished, and Daughtry showed why his career continues to rise following his "Idol" days, while other former contestants are more quickly forgotten.

I went to my first Daughtry concert and they ROCKED I loved every minute of it and was sad when it was over.I can't wait
until I get a chance to see him again.I liked the first opening band which was Day of Fire they rocked it out too... Now don't miss understand there's nobody better than Daughtry but they were good I wish that I could have got a meet and greet maybe next time........

This was my 3rd time seeing Daughtry and it was awesome as usual. Seats weren't as good as in Evansville, but he did an amazing job especially for being sick. So we were leaving the venue and as everyone knows, Chris' bus got stuck in all the traffic so by the time we gassed up and headed back home (Herrin, IL) we actually met up with the bus in Anna. We followed it all the way to the interstate and to the Nashville exit! So wish someone would have opened the window blinds for a peak. I'm never quite that lucky : ( Thanks for another memorable night. See you in Nashville next April opening for Bon Jovi!
