Ok, so I'll start by saying how unbelievable DAUGHTRY are - notice how I always spell their name in capitals? That's how amazing they are - they are totally worthy of capitalisation in my book
The show at The Gaelic in Sydney on Tuesday night was just fantastic - words can't really describe it. I had an amazing night, sung till my throat wouldn't let me sing no more and took waaay too many photos, most of which turned out to be pretty ordinary but I've uploaded a lot of them to share with ya'll anyway. I know everyone on here definitely appreciates all the DAUGHTRY they can get so I thought heck why not share the DAUGHTRY love?
So I'll just take you through a quick run down of my night.
First we go to dinner at the pub across from where the boys are going to be playing thinking we'll score a quick meal before the show. Well, apparently the place had a 'function' on so we ended up waiting almost an hour for our food and had to pig out and eat all we could in like 10 minutes so we wouldn't miss the 'Doors Open at 7.30pm'. So then we hurried to the line and OMG!! The line went right from the door and covered the whole block and started to wrap around into the next street! And of course we were right at the end!!! But not for long muahaha!! *stops her evil maniacal laughter when she notices some shocked expressions aimed her way* Oh, no no, it's not because we jumped the queue or anything, just because loads more people turned up after we did - poor things!!
Anyway, we finally made it in (Yes!! *fist pumps the air in triumph*) and the place was packed - and by 'packed' I mean, you move a little too much this way or that way and you might end up with someone's beer spilt all over you! the venue could hold around 700-800 people, or so I'm told and I don't even think the tickets were sold out!
Small Mercies, a home-grown Aussie band from QLD, took the stage and man were they a great act to open the night. I hadn't heard many of their songs but the lead singer sounded great (he can hit some really high notes for a guy!) and the band were awesome - my sis and I took a liking to the guitarists especially ;P Of course they played 'Innocent' which is one of my fav songs right now - man it was good to hear it live and in your face like that too
Now onto the main event!
DAUGHTRY took the stage and OMG did the place go off!! Everyone screaming and yelling and cheering - unbelieveable! Chris is a lot shorter in person than I'd imagined but he's definitely a spunky little fella! I love a man in jeans lol Everything's really a blurr from then on but the show was amazing - they sang most songs from the album, except 'All These Lives' which I had been really looking forward too but it's all good cos they played almost everything else
'Over You' - OMG, I just love that song, check the song lyrics section of my profile if you don't believe me and 'Feels Like Tonight' another of my all time fav's which was awesome and it seemed a lot more rock-ier live which I loved!! They did play a lot of others but those two were the highlights for me, oh and 'It's Not Over' of course. And when Chris brought out the megaphone - that's something different, I've never seen someone sing/shout through a megaphone at a concert before but it was really cool and sounded awesome.
Oh and someone might be able to help me out here ... he had a tea cup that he was drinking out of .. what's that about? Does he have a fetish for drinking tea on stage or is it water or vodka or what? lol Anyway I thought it was cute no matter what the reason behind it - a tough lookin' guy like Chris just standing on stage sipping out of a tea cup lol.
What else is there to say *scratches head deep in thought* oh I loved that he was trying to use our Aussie slang, saying 'Someone just told me I'm supposed to call all you Aussie girls 'shielas' did I say that right? Shielas?' lol, and he called himself a 'bogan' which he soo isn't, well not in my eyes anyway! And someone in the crowd called out 'Your Australia's Idol!!' Lol, true that my friend, true that!
Ok, I think that's about it ... I've uploaded photos but they need to be authorised or allowed or something so they should be up soon ... I hope ... I'm not too sure of the process cos I've never actually done it before ..
That's it from me - love to you all and I wish all your DAUGHTRY fantasies come true!
Love Nic

And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.
PHOTO COMING HERE SOON!!
LOVED IT....
Thanks Nic,
Thanks for sharing your great night with the humour, couldn't stop laughing.
It sounds like you had a blast, I am so glad that all the fans got really into it. Means there is a great chance of them coming back next year.
No fear, I will be there for sure................................
