I am a HUGE fan (and you should be too), because...I have been following Chris Daughtry's career from day one on American Idol. In some ways I feel like a proud parent, to be able to watch Chris' entire music career evolve from begining has been beyond amazing. Watching Chris form Daughtry..Release an AMAZING album that has quickly risen to platium status (and has not been taken out of my stereo since the day it was released), and aquire a HUGE loving fan base has made me feel so proud FOR him. This past summer I spent over 200 dollars on concert tickets for myself to see Chris at two different venues on the American Idol tour, and was actually fortunate enough to get to meet him. It's not hard to tell when talking to Chris and listening to his music that he is a man with unbelieveable talent, and a great love for what he does (including his fans). The thing that blew me away about Chris when I met him was the fact that he really cared. Of the many Idols on tour he was one of the few very dedicated to their fans and he made sure that he recognized that by making each fan's moment with him special..almost as if nobody else existed but you and him. He melted my heart just by refering to me as "Sweetie". With that kind of personality and passion for his fans and his music how can you not wish him all the best, and feel proud with each and every new accomplishment that he makes. His kindness to his fans and me in general is a very big part of why I'm such a dedicated follower of Daughtry. Chris alone was amazing, but combined with band members Jeremy Josh JP Joey (& Brian), who are all amazing guys, as well as musicians, Daughtry has become phenominal. "Daughtry" is an amazing compilation of songs that I believe anyone; if given the chance to listen to it; would love, the album is just the right mix of slow but easily relatable ballads, and heavy but powerful songs, and if I was asked to pick a favorite I truly could not, each song on this album touches me in one way or another, making me want to keep playing it over and over again. "Daughtry" has already soared to the number one spot on the Billboard Top 200, gone platinum within the first couple weeks that it was released, and quickly topped the number one spot on the VHI Top 20 countdown with their video for "It's Not Over" (exactly where it belongs). This album truly deserves each and every bit of greatness it is recieving, Daughtry is original and fresh, it's pretty near impossible not to love this album, and the band, Daughtry is contagious. Ever since the release of the album I've tried my best to catch each and every Daughtry appearance (Leno, Ellen, Craig Ferguson, Fox New Years Eve, TRL). Daughtry have quickly become a HUGE part of my everyday life, and I was so excited for tour dates to be released. I even started saving money for my concert ticket before the first date was released, only to find out Daughty wouldn't be coming to my state (Maine) only to Boston. I just know that this tour will be something that Chris, Joey, Josh, Jeremy, JP (& Brian) will be very proud of, like their many other accomplishments, and I'd like to be there to feel proud with them.
