History of SoundStage:

Beginning in 1974, long before music television filled the airwaves, the PBS series SOUNDSTAGE sparked the nation. The innovative and prestigious program achieved widespread critical acclaim and featured the artists that defined the era.

Soundstage played host to such luminaries as Bob Dylan, Al Green, Janis Ian, ArethaFranklin, Bonnie Raitt, the Doobie Brothers, Arlo Gutherie, Jose Feliciano, Harry Chapin, Benny Goodman, Dionne Warwick, Itzhak Perlman, the Temptations, Kenny Loggins, among others...

The ground-breaking, hour-long concerts were filmed before small studio audiences, giving home viewers the sensation of experiencing the concert firsthand. As a result of the immense popularity of SOUNDSTAGE, the show enjoyed tremendous longevity, running from 1974 to 1985.

For all those who loved the original series, we are proud to announce that SOUNDSTAGE has been reborn! The production uses state of the art high-definition video equipment, and is digitally recorded and mixed in Dolby 5.1 surround sound.

ROCK ON!
~daughtryFAN5~

I'm so jealous! If I hadn't lost my job, I would have been there! A woman that I recruited for a Communications Manager position knows the manager at PBS and offered to get me tickets. But, my job ended shortly after that and I couldn't afford to go. Sad
Oh well.....I'm happy for the lucky ones that went. At least I can see it on TV.....if I can just pay my cable bill before then!

Sure was crying. It was the best part of the show I will have to agree with Linda(besides the van). He sang that so wonderful and beutiful. I have heard All these lives at other concerts but this by far was the best every. If I say and heard it again I would cry all over again!

Have a "Daughtry" Day!! =)

Is there definitely a DVD coming out?
I am sitting here finally watching my Bon Jovi one. Hmmm lots of familar model faces Sad. The clarity and sound of this DVD is AMAZING, I hope Daughtry releases one!
I just want to THANK RCA AGAIN for the amazing opportunity.
It atleast got some REAL fans in the door!

Did the guys end up doing any cover songs? I was so hoping they would do their "Fell on Black Days" or maybe "Black". That is awesome to hear they did ALL the songs on the CD. I have never heard them do "ALL THESE LIVES" live. So, that will be a new one for me. Any news on an airdate or when a DVD will be released would be appreciated. Congrats to all who were there! Ford models? What a joke! Daughtry Fans in the front row would've been much better! Oh well, guess pretty faces means more than actually being a true fan. Can't wait to see this concert! Too bad Chris was sick for the show and had to cancel for Kenosha. (So glad I didn't try to get tix for that afterall). Sure hope Chris is doing better. Hope he gets some rest/takes a break around the holidays at least!

PBS was the first time I heard Chris sing ALL THESE LIVES ... live.

WOW. I have to say that might have been the highlight of the night for me (ok, and the van activities too!). I had to concentrate on not standing there with my mouth wide open in awe.
I am sure we all looked like deer in headlights. Robin...she was crying!

It was moving. That is for sure. Ahhhh.....

Val

Val - I had tickets to Kenosha and I was so sad too. That sucks that you had VIP and didn't get a M&G. This was my 7th show and had yet to meet or get a pic. I was within 25 feet of the bus and I wasn't leaving. It was about 1am when we saw Joey (almost 3 hours after the show). It was a rough day at work on Thursday.

Yep, Christina, that was me, Jellybean, Hollie and Lisa that stopped by your van on the way out. Smiling We were the ones that told you Carter told us they weren't coming out because they were still taping individual interviews and Chris was still sick. Jellybean actually won the Kenosha VIP, but I was supposed to go with her to the M&G. I can't believe we missed Brian and Joey, and we left just before that...grrr! lol! Oh, well - I guess it just wasn't our time to meet them yet - even though we had thought it worked out perfectly - ugh! But, like Jellybean (Cat), Hollie and I have said, we are definitely thankful for what we did get considering we almost didn't even see them perform at all! Thank God for Ed who got us in to this show after the depressing disappointment of Kenosha being cancelled. And thanks to Carter for having the guys sign some posters for us when they couldn't come out. I'm guessing Steely was doing his interview at the time because his is the only autograph not on it, but I'll get that someday when I DO meet them...haha Smiling

All we really want, though, if for Chris to feel better - that's what is most important!! Smiling He is truly a rock God - I still can't believe how amazing he sounded when he was so sick. LOVE HIM! Smiling

November 13 - Look out Kenosha!
The DO.com Diehard Daughtry Divas from 4 states (Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana and Washington) and 2 countries (US and Canada) are comin' to your town to rock out with the five guys that rock our world! Holla!

Barb and Linda Jo ( and everyone else in the van)- I am cracking up. It is nice to know that my friend Brenda and I are not the only stalkers in Chicago. We have been traveling the country feeding our addiction. I had read your posts before but, you all seemed like such good friends I didn't want to intrude. But I gotta love girls I meet at midnight, on a Wednesday, in a dark parking lot, at the loading docks of the PBS studio, waiting for Daughtry to come out. LMAO When I saw your van and waved you over, we didn't even need to explain our goals.
We were about to leave at 12:30 but, I made Brenda stay and take pictures of me in front of the bus by myself Sad Good thing! Joey and Brian were so nice. Barb I called your cell at 1 when we left but, I didn't see you had called untill the next morning (sorry I was screaming the entire drive home). Anyone know how I load a pic into this post???

Val - I think I met you too! You were the VIP winners I talked to as you were leaving

--
Christina

That was awesome. And so thankful we were there concidering we almost went home with nothing after the Kenosha show got cancelled. Big thank you to Ed at RCA for hooking us up. (Valerie. Hollie and me)

It was so cool to see them in that setting. Loved it!! I yelled ... I love you JP and he said love you too. haha. I know he didn't know who yelled it but what a sweety! hee hee

Sad that I didn't get to meet them after travelling that distance and when I was the VIP winner for the previous show..but still happy and thankful for what I did get.

Cheers
Jellybean

looks like everyone pretty much summed up how AWESOME the show was!!!!

My little guy came along and when we got outside he looked up at me and said, "MOM THAT WAS SOOOO COOOOOL"!!!

that made the ALL DAY DRIVE and getting lost 3 times in Chicago COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!!!!

amazing...amazing...amazing

OK, this is my really really long review (it will get more interesting toward the end, (I hope) so feel free to skip the beginning details if you wish Eye-wink ): You will have to click on the "more" to read the rest of it.

First, to no surprise, I was about 30 mins late getting to Tiff’s (daughtrybug's) house. It was mapquest’s fault. Really, it was. It told me 2 hours, and I was driving (well, over the limit a little) and it took me about 2 hrs & 20 mins, without traffic or construction etc. So, when I got to Tiff’s house, we jumped in her car, and headed to Skokie! Mapquest said it would take about 3 hrs to get there, boy were they wrong! They didn’t factor in the traffic and 3 car wrecks we came upon on the way!!! That made it about a 5 hr trip.

Well, here is Tiff and I, no make-up on, hair not fixed, no clothes on (well, we had clothes on, but not PBS clothes- so no, we did not cause the pile ups!) and we were stopped at a tollbooth for 45 mins b/c of a really bad wreck (hope no one was seriously injured!!). So we arrive at the hotel and have… 20 mins (or so it seemed anyway) to get COMPLETLY ready. We really did get ready in like 20 mins, and I had envisioned it taking more like 2 hours to get ready for PBS. LOL.

Connie (wannabeawinner), sorry you had to wait on us. Thank goodness Cam was staying at that same hotel and was nice enough to share her room with you!!! So, LJ, Connie, Robin and Cam were getting ready in Troy Aikman’s room while Tiff and I were just throwing clothes and make-up bags around in ours. We did it though. Connie, LindaJo, Robin and Cam arrived at our room (looking mighty hawt I tell ya!) Very sexy ladies!!! Tiff had to teach Connie and I how to put eye shadow on. LOL. As we are heading out, I discovered I had 2 different boots on, so I fixed that, and then we were out the door and into the “Mom-mobile gone Daughtry”.

We had to circle around our hotel about 3 times to find the right exit. Once again, Mapquest gave us crazy directions down a bunch of small roads, which intersected busy roads without stoplights. Ask Linda how it is to dart across 6 lanes of rush hour traffic (in the newly converted Daughtry-mobile) with 5 crazy fans all jacked up and ready for PBS.

We finally made it to Sesame Street (I mean St. Louis Street), and joined the other freezing fans. (Hi Terri!!!) Then we seen Karen and Karen, and Lola, and Val (who else did we see? Hope I am not leaving anyone out.) So we froze a bit, but knew we would quickly warm up inside. (When I was at PBS on Nov 2 to see MB20, they let us take purses and coats in, but had to put them under the chairs- but apparently the people behind me didn’t listen, b/c they put theirs on the back of my chair, as instructed NOT TO DO). So this time, they were making people check coats and purses (or so we thought). So after that, and the metal detector, we finally made it in. Because there were 6 of us and it was important to us that we SAT TOGETHER, we knew we would be further back. We was seated (not as close as we would have liked, but we agreed we would rather be together, and far back, than up close and scattered (ALL ABOUT DOING IT TOGETHER). But really, there was no bad seat in there!!!! But then we talked to FP (gotta love that guy!), Not Charlie!!!! This time it was FP who hooked us up. He was able to keep us ALL TOGETHER, and still give us 1st row, but we had to be on the side of the stage, but we was happy b/c we got to stay together. BIG THANK YOU TO FP!. (We did him proud too).

Ok, after a few fake intros, Daughtry really came out! WHOO HOO!!!! Man they looked HOT (as always!) It may have been a little obvious during the first 2-3 songs, that they did not get to do sound check and that Chris wasn’t feeling 100%, but after they worked out some technical problems, and many many throat sprays and drinks of water, Chris’s voice got stronger. I did notice some different arrangements of the songs, maybe that was so Chris could take it a little easy on his voice. I felt so bad for him. I can’t imagine how bad it has to hurt to have strepthroat and have to belt out like that!!! My throat didn’t even hurt before the show, and by the 2nd fake into (before ever seeing the guys) my throat was sore.

Other than a few little breaks, and re-doing (1 or 2?) songs, it was pretty much like a regular concert. Not a lot of behind the scenes kind of stuff. They just pretty much went from one song into the second song. During the tape change, the guys stepped off the stage. We could see them standing back there and Chris seemed a little worried about his voice and how he was sounding. He sounded great though. Or at least I thought so. You couldn’t really tell in the sound that he was feeling ill, but when the cameras were off, you could see it in him a little.

Oh, During "Home" they had a cool "homeish" video in on the big screens in the background. I wonder if it will be the video for the AMA's that we helped send videos in for. It was cool. Mainly "military" stuff.

My favorite for the night was “All these lives”. Wow!!! AMAZING. I just hope that the DO people didn’t over sing Chris on that one. I noticed there for a min, that you could hear us a little (he he). It was cool to look around the audience. From where we were seated, we could pretty much view everyone in the audience, and you could pick out DO people pretty easily!! They were the ones singing and having a good time. You can just see the difference in the faces of a real fan, and a paid model (and not in a disrespectful way to Daughtry fans!!! LOL). Those models may look good on camera, or photo, or on a catwalk, but at a Daughtry concert, they really don’t look as good as any real fan! Model- I AM NOT!!! Real fan who is there to have a great time, enjoy the music, sing along to every song, arms in the air, jump around, clap along, shake my butt, scream my head off and have a kick butt time- THAT IS ME! and that is MY GIRLS, and that is the DO people. I am sure there were others there who were with sponsors (I was one of them) who were "real fans", but why not let the “real fans” in the front. We look better in the front than a pretty face with flawless make up and good hair who doesn’t even know who the heck Daughtry is.

(for MB20’s PBS soundstage, the Ford Models- like 50 of them, got to sit ON THE STAGE, as part of the backdrop, with MB20 during the whole PBS taping, while even more filled the first few rows as well.) It is a little silly to me. I recognized a few of the models from the MB20 taping. If they wanted to have a casting call, one of the requirements should have been to play “the singing bee” with Daughtry music! LOL they should throw in some Daughtry trivia as well. We would all be front row then!!!!

The night was just amazing. I would have loved to see some more banter between the guys, more interaction with the fans, and more goofing off and playfulness on the stage. Some more “re-do’s” would have been nice (just to make the show longer). I just honestly don’t think that Chris was feeling well. I think several of the guys may be feeling a bit fatigued and sick. THEY NEED AND DESERVE A BREAK!!!! I hope during the holidays, they can get some R&R time and family time. I really thought they would re-do more songs. They just seemed to rush it all a bit to me. I would guess b/c they (or Chris) just wasn’t feeling 100% and I don’t blame him! It is probably a good idea not to over do it too much, take it easy and save it for the AMA’s!!!

The guys were great though. We got a lot of Chris love. He thinks Connie is “awesome”! He even told her so. He made a lot of silly faces at Tiff. At one point, some guy from the audience yelled “You’re hot Chris” and Chris goes, “Thank you guys for coming out, goodnight, the show is over” or something like that, and was chuckling and acted like he was walking off of the stage and I yelled “we think you’re hot over here too” (and pointed to my group of girls), and he chuckled a bit then turned around and headed back to the mic. Chris really gave the front rows a lot of love I think. He made his way to both sides of the stage and the front of the stage, and tried to touch everyone he could. We got several hand slaps/shakes etc from the guys as they were walking on and off of the stage. I know my girls all scored pretty well. We got some guitar picks, set lists, drum sticks (JB blood and all), autographs, pictures, and all that good stuff. Best of all….. We got memories! So now we have memories that will last a lifetime, (or until Alzheimer’s sets in) LOL It seems like most DO people really fared well. I am so happy that so many people got guitar pics, water bottles etc. Everyone ended up with great seats too.

It was a fun night!!! I about got arrested. Why is it that fun nights always end with someone either getting arrested, or nearly getting arrested? I am just kidding, I did not get arrest!!! Not even close (I don’t think). I was just kidding about that. Do you think Joey would have felt sorry for me and bailed me out though? Tiff, LJ, Connie, Cam, Robin…… you guys would have pitched in and got me out….. right????? I have never been in jail, and I don’t want my first time there to be in Chicago. I am sure it is scary enough in my little hometown! Chicago would be way to overwhelming and intimidating for me!!! I am just hoping I don’t get served with any papers today.

After the show, we waited around for awhile, Carter told us the guys were doing interviews and would be busy for a long time. He told us Chris was still realy sick. He said "you should see his throat, he has white ulcers all over it" (yep, it's strep) So he gave out autographed pics. There wasn't enough for everyone to get one Sad but he tried. It was a nice gesture anyway!

OK, what a night, but… the night wouldn’t have been nearly as fun without my girlies!!! I love you all. As a matter of fact, I would not have been there without my girls!!! LJ, you are amazing. You worked your magic girl and stuck to our motto of “no WOman left behind”. You guys made sure I was not left behind, and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart! We make a great TEAM! Proves that when people work together and help each other out, it all works out! But really, I am so glad that I have you girls to experience all of this with and go to these shows with, and chat it up with on the DO. What would I do without you guys? We really have all become more that just acquaintance though Daughtry, we have become FRIENDS!!!! You guys are stuck with me now. Good luck ditching me. I am not going to be an easy one to get rid of. I will tell you that much! :evil laugh:

After PBS- was sooooo much fun. The memories we made in the van- oh my! I hope some of which I am able to forget!!! (thanks tiff), and others, I hope that remain long past the Alzheimer’s! (you know your long term memory usually remains intact so hopefully when we are unable to remember what we ate for lunch today, or start putting our “granny panties” on the outside of our clothes, we will still be able to tell our story about going to see Daughtry at PBS Soundstage way back in 2007.)

I love you guys! Can’t wait to do another show with you. If not another Daughtry show soon, then we need to have a sleep over somewhere, and just go out, and have a great time!

Robin, it was nice meeting you!!!! Hope we didn’t scare you too much!!
Val, Glad you got to work it and come to the front row with us. Hope your hubby was ok with that. Glad you had your first Chris touch!
Michelle, I am so happy for you. How awesome! You worked it girl. You followed your heart and your heart is always right (well, not always), but in this case, it was!!! Congrats to you!
It was nice meeting Christina (and friend) after the show. Glad you guys got some pictures!
It was good to meet some new faces, and wish I could have meet some more of you (I know I didn’t get to meet all the winners from the DO there) but… I am sure we will run into each other again someday.

And again, to all the girls I went with, I love you and thank you for an incredible night. Oh, and…. THANK YOU TO RCA, DAUGHTRY, PBS, FP, MASTERCARD (and BH) AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE (this is sounding like an acceptance speech again. LOL). And again, a special Thank you to Linda Jo, for getting me in (however I love you all equally) and a big thank you to Tiffany, for carpooling and letting me stay in your room again (and a thank you to Big Daddy too), muahhh!

I do give free hugs as well, but a kiss is gonna cost ya Eye-wink

Cameras were not allowed inside (as we all knew) so I have no pictures of the show to share. Sorry, you will all have to wait until it airs, It will not be on until Jan or Feb (maybe later). The only pictures we got, was before and after the concert.

Carter told us the guys weren't coming out because they were still doing PBS interviews and Chris was still sick, so we left. I can't believe they came out. That just makes me want to cry, especially since I was supposed to meet them all the night before with Jellybean who won VIP for the cancelled Kenosha show. We are still soooo sad beyond words, but hope Chris is feeling much better. The poor guy - after every song he was spraying his throat. I felt so bad - simply amazing the way he still sounded perfect while his throat was still hurting. I don't know how he did it - he's just a consummate professional - brilliant!

All I wanted to do was give Chris a big hug and thank him for his music. Hopefully both my girl Jellybean and I will finally get that chance someday (well that we'll get the chance again - but that it will actually happen Smiling) . I at least got to shake his hand (sigh) and he waved to us after the show as he and Brian were walking through the hallway backstage so I'm thankful for that. And we got to drink out of one of his water bottles...haha! But we are even beyond thankful for getting into the Soundstage taping - what a truly unique and amazing experience to be a part of!! I've never been that close (3rd row) at a concert before...God it was killing me to not be able to take pics! lol Smiling

The DO.com Diehard Daughtry Divas from 4 states (Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana and Washington) and 2 countries (US and Canada) are comin' to your town to rock out with the five guys that rock our world! Holla!

I was glad you did it! I was like WTF! He is holding his sign up and obviously that was like an open invitation. If he was on my side I would have done it in a heartbeat! Glad you guys made it back ok. Would love to see your pics too! Smiling

HEY!!!!

It was nice meeting you under such COVERT circumstances! I am laughing at us right now...lol We did leave -- I turned into an old lady and dropped the girls back @ the hotel and they came back to hang with you...and you were gone.

I am glad you got tickets and were able to make it. It was just fun to watch how something like that works...and then throw DAUGHTRY into the mix and you KNOW it is going to be something that you will remember forever.

Christina is right...most of the tickets went to sponsors. That's just how it works. I am not going to bash that, bc that is the system, and it worked for you and it worked for me. That's how I got 2 extra tickets to get my girls in the door. Smiling YAY! But, it does make a difference in the energy level of the audience. I KNOW we looked INSANE to everyone bc we never stopped moving, singing, screaming, dancing, etc. THAT is what they WANTED us to do! Good thing that comes naturally to us! lol

I wish we would have met you guys sooner! Next time...we will rent a bigger van!!! Who knew the mommy-mobile would come in handy??? Smiling

--

AAAHHHH, we are the van ladies. LMAO!!!

just to give you the run down of who was in the van, it was Linda Jo (driving), Cam (passenger), me and daughtrybug in the middle section, and RobinB and WannaBeAWinner in the back of the Daughtrymobile Eye-wink I have your phone number. We did make it back. We did get some pics. Thank you guys for chatting it up with us and exchanging #'s to help each other out. Glad you guys was able to get pics. Glad I found you on here, b/c I didn't remember what you said your name was on the board. LOL.

(My review and thank you's to come) LOL

Who in the heck was that stupid girl who got on stage anyway???? She should have been arrested. LOL (NO ONE ELSE COMMENT ON THIS CRAZY GIRL!!!!)

Joey would have bailed me out of jail. YEAH RIGHT!!!! I was worried when I seent a van pull in next to us that said something about "Shackled" and "Beaten". I can't remember what it said now. What did it say? Anyone know what that van was for? who they were? I assumed something to do with interviews or something. I was thinking "Blender" LOL. anyway, I loved the van. Very cool. The other side said something elephants.

A friend of a friend got us tickets and we were so thankful! The show was amazing. We were around of group of people who didn't know the songs. They thought we were nuts Smiling I caught a water bottle, my friend a drumstick, and we got to touch Chris's hand AMAZING. Then we waited for hours in the cold to get a picture. To the DO ladies we met in the van, I hope you made it back to get pictures. We got to take pictures with Brian and Joey around 1 am (lots of hugs). The bus was still there when we left. My 1st meeting with the band, priceless! I am very thankful for such an amazing night but, dang it was cold!

THAT...was a good time! No bad seat in the house, and a very big thanks to Frank for the escort to stage. DAUGHTRY rocked. All these lives was...well..there are no words Smiling I'm excited to see the end product. I wonder if that chic that jumped on stage will make the tape? LOL....Barb..... very ROCKSTAR of you...is that how he put it? Smiling

How lucky I was to be in attendance....and rocking right along with my girls Linda, Tiff, Connie, Barb and Robin. Love you guys. It was good to see you Terri, Karen....and all the rest of you guys! Hope Chris gets to feeling better..... but even under the weather, he is still the bomb yiggity. Thanks LJ, RCA and DAUGHTRY!!!

OMG

LOLA-thanks again for chosing me as your guest. I think we were the only two hard core fans in our section. I haven't had whiplash (sp?) in years. We did a lot of dancing, alot of singing and a whole lot of yelling. I have to say, this was the best Daughtry show I have ever been too and that soundstage was just amazing. It was nice meeting you TWISTED and your tattoo'd man. You two were a riot@! Thanks for meeting us for the pre-party. Great job PBS and Lola thanks again! I will go on the payment plan to see Jovi/Daughtry. how much $371 per ticket? You crazy girl!

anyone know about when this will be aired or when the dvd will come out?

I thought I had seen the same females from the Jovi Soundstage show I watched over the weekend.
It does make me a little upset too because most think these are everyday people and they have to live up to the same standards as them. it is a good gig though could you imagine getting paid to attend concerts.Could you imagine if they wwere forced not to discriminate to and had to put some male models in there.LOL

I do wish they would put a disclaimer on the shows stating oh by the Way the first two rows are filled with paid models.heehee

Oh my Lord, what a ride this has been!!! First of all thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to Daughtry Official, PBS, RCA and whoever else had absolutley anything to do with selecting the winners of this VIP -- what an awesome experience!! Chris was phenomenal,as always, sickly or not -- God he was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We froze our patooties off in line for like 6 1/2 hours outside, then waited inside for another hour and a half until it began, but it was worth every second!! It was great getting to know all of you in line -- had a blast with all of you!! And where are the props for Arlene, our security samurai that was with us all day???!!! Arlene works security for PBS and was an absolute RIOT!! She just about put the smackdown on some lady speeding through the parking lot!! lol! She made the long wait much more entertaining!!! Some really disorganized moments while filtering into the studio, but all in all, it worked out great!! My only MAJOR disappointment was seeing the first two rows right in front of the stage being filled almost exclusively by Ford models that were apparently being paid to attend and didnt even know the words to most of the frickin songs & just danced around and acted stupid most of the time. I understand what PBS was trying to do there, but I personally believe that it would make for a much better show to have a studio FULL of fans singing along!! But that's just me and no one asked me for input!!Smiling Anyway, Stacey & I were sitting right behind the dingbats and even got to grab hands with Chris & Steely at the end! (sigh) It'll be interesting to see how the show comes out after editing -- hopefully it won't show me wrestling with a lady over Chris' water bottle!! DORKS!! (Yes, we sawed the sucker in half with a pocket knife after the show!!) Unfortunately, the guys were busy with interviews after the show and couldnt come out, plus with the illnesses floating around the band, Carter said he would not let them come out in the cold. But he was sweet enough to get us autographed pics and bring out to us. I was happy!! Hopefully everyone will be feeling better by tonight for Cape Girardeau cause I know a lot of you are going and I hope you have a blast!!!! Love ya all!!! See ya down the road!!!!

TERRI

I left my camera in the car cuz I heard you couldn't bring it in and they were taking them as you went in but I don't know if anyone snuck one in or got it back after and hung out and got pics!
I would love to see them too if anyone got them!

Of course I didnt expect anything BUT good reviews..just wish I could of been there....Crashed is my FAVORITE , and to hear it 2x !
Good times !
Any Pictures??

This was the best night of my life or Daughtry concerts I have to say!!!! It was the best show ever! The guys were having so much fun with the taping, along with some tweeking as well at times!

As you can see I was not on the winners list from the website, but I felt I just had to be there somehow, or at least try! I didn't want to go it alone so my sister came with me! Really didn't know what to expect like I said, but WOW!!! I didn't even expect to make it in the building. When we first got there we saw all the VIP's or whoever mingling with the guys in the one building so that was even a highlight. Being so close, but yet so far away. Then we went to the building were they where doing the taping. A lady welcomed us inside and said have a great time, here is the coatcheck. Then I saw a desk where everyone was signing in so I figured, well, here we go this is the end of our journey! They asked for our id's and before they started to look I said we aren't on there. We drove 2 hrs.to get here and the Kenosha show I was supposed to go to yesterday got cancelled so I was just hoping by some slight chance we would get in. She said you drove all this way just hoping and I said yes, I just felt it was something I needed to do! A really nice lady said well, come over here. I can't promise anything, but just wait here. We waited for about 10 min. and she said come with me! I couldn't believe it! I gave her a big hug cuz I couldn't contain myself! Smiling She brought us over to where you got escorted in and I thought I don't even care if I am in a corner somewhere, just to be here was like a dream! She brought us right over to the FRONT ROW right on the side by Steely! I just couldn't believe it! I kept saying OMG OMG and people were looking at me like WTF. They obviously were just Mastercard people and had no clue what they were in for!
They had us practice clapping and stuff like they were really coming in and said be really loud! Well, no problem there! DUH, it's Daughtry for god sake!! They played Crashed first and then did everything else off the cd. The had to do Crashed again though. I felt so bad for Chris. He kept taking drinks every so often and I just wondered how much pain he was in.Despite how he was feeling it was an awesome show and I hope they realize that! The guys kept messing around when they were tweeking. Joey was playing some Jazz on the drums and everyone was doing their own thing. Chris still did the water bottle toss, but not as much as other shows.
Now my moment that I will never forget. My sister and I were yelling for Chris to come over and I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not cuz I didn't know at what point they were still taping or not. Well, he came over with a big smile and shook our hands, not just a slap, which I would have taken, An actual very nice shake and said "HI". I took his hand with both of mine and didn't want to let go! Smiling That meant so much to me I got emotional after and had some tears, I do right now again as I am typing this. I also got Chris' set list and a pic from Steely and JP and my sister got one of Joey's drumsticks! I also asked if I could have a poster that they hung all over and one of their special staff passes (with Daughtry on it of course) the workers were wearing and they said sure!
Like I said it was just an incredible night for me and I can't wait for the show to air. I don't even care if I am on or not, just to be there was so surreal and I am very thankful that i was LUCKY enough to be a part of it! And I do mean lucky as you can see! Don't give up everyone! I just felt in my heart this was something I had to do and look what happened. Sure I may have not gotten in and I would have been VERY disappointed, but I knew I just had to give it a try! Despite the negativity I was getting by family saying, you're crazy, why do you even want to try. Well, sometimes you just have to.....
I only hope next time they do something like this DO is able to get more fans in for the guys sake!
I saw a girl in the bathroom and she said I don't know who this band is but I really like the one guitar player?! That's what I mean. I hope we can all be lucky enough to experience it!

Thanks so much for reading! I don't normally type a whole lot, but I just had to share this with all of you.
Take Care and here's looking forward to another show!!!!
Michele

WHAT A GREAT NIGHT! I want to thank CJ for inviting me as her guest!
I am STILL THAWING OUT!
We got there around 230, had a great time waiting in the cold with everyone, Security was entertaining.
Once we FINALLY WENT IN, it felt SOOO SUREAL! Very Small VERY INTIMATE!
They first brought us to the 3rd row, than moved us to the FRONT ROW, right in front of JP and BRIAN, OMG I was SHAKING! I dont think I have ever been THAT CLOSE.
Joey had his FREE HUGS SIGN but before the taping started they took it off Sad
I thought it was AWESOME ERIK from the mix went through thanking those that were there and included THE DAUGHTRY FANCLUB, TOO COOL. THANKS RCA FOR THE OPPORTUNITY!
My highlight was ALL THESE LIVES!
But I thought the whole show was fantastic and was sad when it was over.
We did talk to Carter after the show and he said he was worried about Chris and soundstage. POOR CHRIS, PLEASE GET SOME REST and a SPEEDY RECOVERY. He said he had HUGE throat sores and was surprised how AWESOME he still performed!
I cant wait to see the performace! The boys were doing interviews last night after the performance for the show.
Wasnt sure if this will just be on TV, or if a DVD will be released!
THANKS AGAIN RCA, and CJ you are truely one of the sweetest peopple i know!
It was great to FINALLY meet Valerie, Cat, and Holly! Cant wait to see you all again!

We did not start going in the building until almost 7 this started to worry me as they did say doors opened at 6.30.Daughtry did arrive about 30 minutes late. The local radio DeeJay blamed flight problems. This again brought visions of a sick Chris Daughtry to mind hoping that if he was really sick maybe he should not perform.
When they first arrived on stage Chris did sort of seem under the weather his voice was not up to 100% on the first two songs. This is why I do believe they redid "Crashed". They blamed having no sound check and just arriving for this.Chris did seem to drink an awful lot of water too. After the second song I do believe they did spring to true form.I kind of had it running through my mind the first few songs if he did have a sore throat than the poor guy should not be there. Maybe they did do this show though as retakes could be done.
The band did take breaks in between a few songs too were they left the stage not sure what this was for, makeup; too see what had been taped; who knows. Chris did leave the stage too by himself and the rest of the boys did a fine job of freestyle music no vocals to keep us entertained.Thanx guys
Like Lola said Feels Like Tonight was tops for the night. and I truly enjoyed myself. Thanx RCA Sara and others behind the scenes for setting this up for us.I too wish more of us could of gone .

I truly hope they reschedule for you guys in Wisconsin. It has to be hard reading these today.

Playing for two hours must have been rough to do for someone coming off a throat ailment. Was there any evidence that he had been under the weather the night before which caused him to cancel the concert at Carthage College in Kenosha? The cancellation was very disappointing for those of us looking forward to that show! Just wondering if his illness affected his singing at PBS?

DID I MENTION IT WAS AWESOME????????????????????????LOVE THOOSE GUYS
