DAUGHTRY IN FRISCO!

Average: 5 (2 votes)

Wow, where to start. I woke up Sunday morning at 6 am after only getting 4 hours of sleep. I was a bit tired but was sooo looking forward to the concert that evening. The 4 1/2 hour drive to Dallas was a long one....but my mother and I passed the time listening to my Daughtry cd and her Nickelback cd! We finally got to the hotel at 12:30...we checked in and were showed to the room. There was a slight malfunction in that room (the damn toilet overflowed) I was pretty pissed because we had to switch rooms and I knew we wouldn't get to the venue right at 2 like I had hoped. BUT we got there at about 2:15 which is not bad! I finally got to meet my DO girls Jen and Gayle. IMO we hit it off right away...there was no awkward moment like there usually is when I meet someone in person for the first time. We chatted until it was time for the gates to open at 5:30. We got patted down and all that good stuff and ran to the stage. Jen and Gayle hauled some ass! By the time I got down the stairs they were already at the stage. We had a great view!!! I think the longest wait was the 1 1/2 hours right before the concert started. I was so excited!
FINALLY, the first band Puddle of Mudd came on. Personally, I liked them alot. The singer looked as if he was on drugs or drunk (or maybe both) but they were very entertaining! They played their old songs and a couple off the new album! The new songs sounded great.
As soon as they were done, my heart started pounding. I couldn't believe that in a matter of minutes Daughtry would be on stage! The moment of truth came and Daughtry came out like nobody's business. They were all looking mighty fine!!!!! My first concert was amazing but this time there was something wonderful in the air!!! Joey showed us what was up with those drums! He really let us have it! He also graced us with his beautiful voice with some backup vocals. JP worked it! His energy amazed me.....he ran here and there...I could barely keep up with him with my eyes!!! Brian!!! He hardly says a word in interviews...we don't hear much from him at all....but if you see him onstage...his personality just shines! You don't need to hear interviews to know what he is all about. He just screams "look at me...I'm a freaking rocker"! His faces are adorable! I have said that many times! But I will say it again!!!! STEELY!!!! He was the first one my eyes went to when the guys came out...he didn't have his hat on (which I personally love) but he was looking great! His smile is infectious. I don't think he stopped smiling the whole show!!!! He rocked it! He just owns! He kills! I'm guessing you can tell how I feel about him! And as Gayle said in her review, we screamed our heads off to get his attention and tell him Happy Bday!!! His face lit up and he waved at us!! I was jumping up and down!!! I was totally happy! Wish we could have gotten Brian's attention!!!!!
Chris.....he sang wonderfully! Words can't even begin to explain how great he sounded! His voice gave me (and every other woman out there I'm sure) the chills. My personal fave that they played was Breakdown. He sings it SO WELL live. It was better than the cd IMO. The emotion that he put into that song just moved me. Another fave was the last song, There and Back Again....the crowd was just jumping up and down, bopping their heads! It was spectacular. It was ROCK at its best.
Nickelback was really great. They had fire, fireworks...it was totally cool. Chad sounded good and their was this cool drum solo that really made my jaw drop. But I admit that I spent alot of my time thinking about Daughtry's performance!!! Jen and Gayle left the field in the middle of the concert...so I stayed with Gayle's daughter Kacie. We got her back to Gayle safe and sound and met Sheila and her daughter, who were wonderful. We took some pics and went to try and convince the little teenage punk of a security guard to let us back where the buses were so we could look for the guys! lol. No go though. Truthfully, I don't mind one bit. I got EXACTLY what I wanted. An amazing show!
This show was special to me. I know there are a lot of fans who have been to 4, 5, 10...I even hear 30 shows! There is no way I could financially afford that. I find it a blessing that I had the honor of being in Daughtry's presence for the second time. And to top it all off, I got to experience it with my girls, who admire and respect them as much as I do!!!! I think that made it all the more special to me! I will be replaying this night in my head until I get to another Daughtry show!!!
Sorry it was so long but I hope you enjoyed my review!!!
