So I have been waiting to see Daughtry for a long LONG time.. disappointment after disappointment. August 22 is just around the corner and I cant wait! To bring you up to speed on why this is such a big deal to me...

I was a major Chris fan on AI just like most of you.. and I did scream my head off at the TV the night he was booted. Now mind you Im a 37 year old woman not a teenager so my 18 year old son looked at me like Im Nuts!! hehe After ranting and raving for about an hour I finally realized that this was probably the best thing for him.. EVERYONE knew what a great singer he was..I knew he was going to make it big and NOW he didnt have to have AI with their hands in everything and he could do things on his own..Now I wanted to hear that voice in person.

So I waited and waited UNTIL I saw on this site that he was going to be at a small venue in San Francisco called Slims many months ago. I told the other HUGE Daughtry fan in my office about it and she and I planned to purchase tickets the second they went on sale and make a night of it in SF.. perfect right? But noooooo I open the morning paper here in Modesto and they announce that Daughtry is going to be right here in Modesto at a place called The Fat Cat which is a major club here in town. I was sooo excited I didnt know what to do with myself. Tickets were suppose to be on sale at the venue a few days after the SF show went on sale so we waited. I work 4 doors down from the Fat Cat and was working the Saturday they went on sale. I hadent gotten paid yet so I had to convince my Mother.haha to go wait by the front door of the venue for me and buy 6 tickets for me..and after alot of argueing I convinced her to do so. Well they were very unorganized and that should have been a red flag for me but it didnt dawn on me at the moment. They also did not give her tickets but only a reciept and told her that the tickets were not back from the printers yet and she would have to come with me in a week to pick up the tickets with here reciept and credit card. But they were for FRONT ROW!! So again we waited.. THEN..IT HAPPENED!

I open the paper again and the headline reads..DAUGHTRY CANCELS SHOW AT FAT CAT!! OMG!! what have I done?.. the SF show sold out and now im screwed!! Fat cat is blaming the bookers but from what I hear they never had an actual confirmation fo the booking and now Im SOL!!

So Im sad and decide well..at least Im sure that they are so big already that they will have more shows added eventually near by.

I check often but see nothing.. then I get sick.. have to take time off from work..find out im having surgery and am not online very much anymore.. Then all of a sudden I look and see that the band is going to be at the California State Fair and tickets are all ready on sale!!

So I buy 2 tickets instantanously ..but..the only tickets I can get are in nose bleed.. dammit!!!

Well at least I have my tickets... I will get to see my favorite Band..at least I hope I will be able to see them because my seat is so damm far away!

I am very excited and am going to finagle my way to get there early to enjoy the Fair a bit even though its on a work day 2 hours away from where I live. Maybe next time they come close I can get better seats!
