I am a fan (and you should be too), because not only is the music incredible; each member of the band brings something special and unique to the stage.
As Wednesday arrived with a carefree smile
Of the sun, the Daughtry bus had a while
To go before arriving at its stop.
Houston, Texas, without a raindrop,
Awaited in agony for the band
That expectedly was in high demand.
Chris Daughtry, awaking with a yawn,
Stepped onto the bus floor at break of dawn.
His bald head encased a masterful mind
That had penned beautiful songs in kind -
“Homeâ€, “Breakdownâ€, and “Gone†were his own,
On all of which his vocals had shown
He was not a phony, a flop, or fake;
He was a true rocker without mistake.
And this family man down to the core
Had sold out this Texas stop on his tour.
Josh Steely, also a family man,
Was the oldest member of the clan.
But his age in years did not detract
From his age in spirit that helped attract
Legions of fans and adorers alike.
His undying love for his wife and tyke
Had warmed the hearts of all who knew him.
He was always gleeming and never grim,
Thrusting his soul into every note played.
This gifted guitarist would never fade.
Josh Paul, the tattooed bassist of the crew,
Did not have Daughtry as his debut;
He'd played with numerous bands in the past,
Throughout which he had grown and amassed
A large following. At every show,
His unparalleled energy would throw
Itself across the room. His mohawk
Stood tall, and it would probably shock
Many people to know what a tender
Man he was – another Daughtry splendor.
Joey Barnes, the Pitt-Vaughn drummer,
At times was also a guitar strummer.
This multitalented songwriter
And singer could not have had a brighter
Future. His looks, charm, and sense of humor
Had won many hearts. A fresh groomer,
Some might have called him metro. But one
Thing was undeniable – though fun,
Handsome, witty, single, and gallant,
He was mainly loved for his talent.
Brian Craddock, the newest addition,
Thus far had not caused any tension.
Replacing the never-forgotten
Jeremy Brady, the band had gotten
Another amazing talent and friend.
His skills seemed to almost transcend
Expectations, melting into each song,
Proving the stage was where he belonged.
With a positive attitude and grin,
It took no time for him to fit in.
Afternoon had come when the bus stopped,
And the five guys of Daughtry all plopped
Onto the pavement outside. Fans waved
And took pictures but calmly behaved
As the guys went inside for the soundcheck.
I'd won VIP and enjoyed it; heck,
Can't get any better than that.
