totally amazed... i heart chris!
The show was absolutley amazing! It was my first concert, and the expression of talent made my experience one that i will always remember! Daughtry was very last onstage (but of course they had to save the best for last!!!) I cannot wait until I can see Chris perform again. I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about him being in Mobile at Bayfest in October! He is coming home to me!!!
DAUGHTRY ROCKED CPR FEST
Had a great time at the CPR fest. Just a little wilder than I thought, having brought my 11 year old daughter with me, but she LOVED every minute of seeing Daughtry on stage. Thanks, Daughtry Official, for choosing us as VIP winners. The poster we got was awesome, my daughter has it framed already. Getting into the fest with the VIP tickets was a different story. They said our name was not on the will call/band list but after about 6 hours of trying to explain that we had won VIP tickets, someone from the band finally came and let us in. I wish I knew his name because we owe him HUGE thanks. If it wasn't for him, we'd have driven four hours from Louisiana for nothing and not been able to get into the show. The best part of all was he got us in to the meet and greet. We were told by email that there was no meet and greet for this concert but being we had such a rough time getting our VIP tickets, he made it up to us by getting us in to see Chris and the guys from Daughtry. It was a night we'll never forget. My daughter was so excited to get her shirt signed by him and we got everyone's autographs and got a big hug from Chris. He was so sweet. It all happened so fast, it didn't seem real but it was definitely worth every minute we spent waiting to get through those doors. Although the other bands were a little too "hard rock" for our taste, Daughtry's performance was, as always, FANTASTIC!! We saw him in Houston at the Meridean and I can't wait to see him again at the Hard Rock in August.
My CPR Review-Part Deux
Next up was Sevendust...more of the same. They were followed by 7 Mary 3 who I kinda felt sorry for cuz the crowd was rather disinterested, and the band looked like they had fallen on hard times. But they got a huge ovation for their last number.....maybe cuz they were done! LOL After them came Puddle of Mudd who were really good and who the crowd adored. During all these performances there was pushing and shoving and poking and prodding....often the security guards came over the barricades to eject people and to break up a fight once.............very hairy at times! My son was quite worried about his Mom, and he and I got separated by about four rows of people somehow, but I never gave any ground and I held onto my spot in front of the mike and three rows back!
Finally at 10:30 p.m. it was time for the piece de resistance! DAUGHTRY was coming on.........during the setting up part, the little guy in the very front row turned to me and said "You need to be up HERE for this" and he gave me his spot! Wasn't that just too sweet? They were really nice kids and they kept looking out for me, asking me if I was okay and making sure I didn't fall when the pushing was going on! I moved up to the barricades and one of the security guards gave me a guitar pick! Then it was time for DAUGHTRY and I was in heaven! I was RIGHT IN FRONT of the mike and I could see his every move and hear him perfectly. His voice sounded so good! And of course he looked fantastic He looked right at me a couple of times, too, but he doesn't smile much when he sings and really he kinda keeps his eyes closed a lot while singing. They opened with Crashed and it was different from the cd version, but it was great! When they did Over YOu, Chris introduced it as their "new single"!They did everything from the cd but These Lives and WAN.......Chris talked about how the storm ravaged Biloxi and how amazing the people were to be building it back. He told us he'd be back in August and he wondered if it would still be hot! Poor baby doesn't know what HOT is! When he sang Home, he said they'd call Biloxi their home tonight Chris and Joey did a cover of a Soundgarden song called Fell into Black Days....just the 2 of them on the stage, with Chris singing and Joey on guitar. It was really really good! They closed with TABA and it rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris had come out onto a pair of speakers right in front of me and he was leaning over to grab our hands......he couldn't reach us all, so he jumped down into the space between the stage and the barricades.........the security guys' eyes were popping out! Chris ran up and down that space touching as many people as he could reach and I was one of them! I don't know if he's done that before, but it seemed he just wanted to reach as many of us as he could before he had to leave. He was simply awesome performing on that stage.....he never stopped moving, and they played for one solid hour. I don't know how they could have played longer at the pace they were going! It was a definite heavy metal concert and I feel like they tailored their song choices to fit in with the theme..........but let me tell y'all..........there is NO COMPARISON between DAUGHTRY and any of the other bands that played. DAUGHTRY is in a league of their own.............these guys are gonna be superstars, if they're not already!
Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! OH!!!!!!! I forgot about Tommy getting the drumstick! He just stuck his right hand up in the air and grabbed it, then he gave it to ME! A girl asked him why he gave it to "that woman" and he told her that was his Mom........she said "Your MOM is here? How AWESOME!!!!!!!!" They all kept telling me I rocked, which I gathered is their highest form of compliment I had an absolute blast and I'd do it all again tomorrow if I had the chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAUGHTRY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I gave Tommy the guitar pick

Where y'at, Dawlin'?
My CPR Review-Part One
I'm home.........I fed my face.........now I can sit here and type until I drop I took my drumstick to work with me.....am I lame or what???? I wanted to try and find a shadowbox to frame it in.....dropped off the film to get developed, too. The tix said NO CAMERAS and we we're worried they'd confiscate 'em if we had 'em so we bought a disposable one and I'm getting a disc made. I hope I can upload the pix from it if they come out good.
Ok..here goes.......
We got there at 11 a.m. I was SURE there'd be a million people in line already, but we were among the first ones and I plopped myself right in front of the door! There was a bus pulled up alongside of the arena behind some barricades with a security guy sitting by it..........I was sure it was DAUGHTRY's bus, but Tommy found out it belonged to Saliva.........I had already taken a picture!
Before too long another bus pulled up....it was all BLACK and I just KNEW this was DAUGHTRY's bus, so I meandered over there to talk to the security guy. He said he didn't know whose bus it was which only made me SURER that it was CHRIS in there Long story short: a bald guy came out but it wasn't Chris Turned out to be Sevendust's bus........bummer. Never DID see DAUGHTRY's bus. I do have pix of the black bus, tho'. Big whoop!
Tommy went off to get us some lunch while I held our place at the door.....no way was I going anywhere..LOL The security guards inside started letting people go in just to use the facilities......thank goodness! A few of us did that and enjoyed the air conditioning whenever the doors would open. They finally opened the doors for us to go inside at 2:30 p.m. Of course, I hightailed it to the stage as fast as I could go, but by the time I got there it was already three deep from the barricades. That was cool, tho,cuz I had a great view and I was aligned with the mike in the middle fo the stage. They made all of us sit down on the floor until the concert began at 4...all the kids around me were giving me tips on what would happen when it started, and Tommy was being my bodyguard. He was so awesome the whole time............I have the most wonderful son in the world!
The concert began with a local guy doing the national anthem on an electric guitar........very heavy meatl, but kinda cool and a sign of what was to come. Everybody stood up for that and we NEVER sat down again! Teh 1st group to play was Joshua Sun, a local metal band whose lead singer will lose his voice in a year if he keeps on like he did Sat. nite! Not my cuppa, but they were entertaining. Next was Kitty, a Canadian girl metal band............they were beyond awful, and they weren't even cute! After them came Saliva, more head-banging stuff, very foul language, but entertaining, too.

Great time at CPR!
What a day of Rock! The concert was awesome! We drove to Biloxi from New Orleans and it was well worth it. Saving the best for last, Daughtry rocked the coliseum! The guys did a great job giving the songs a more edgy rock feel and the audience loved it! The energy level from the audience to the band and back to the audience was off the charts. We were on the floor and it was rockin! Thanks so much to Daughtry for coming to Biloxi! We needed that! See ya at Hard Rock! Thanks so much guys!
DAUGHTRY ROCKED @ CPR FEST!
Daughtry was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING as usual, and Puddle of Mudd and Saliva were great, too! I could have done without the other bands though, but gladly suffered through them for Daughtry
Chris was so sweet and really embraced the residents of MS with his kind words and great songs. He said he was adopting MS as his home right before playing Home and it really was a very touching moment. I'm from FL but I have always loved MS and had frequently visited Biloxi with my Mom before she passed away with cancer the month right before Katrina hit the Gulf Coast and this my first time going back to Biloxi since losing her. Needless to say, it was really so sad to see the devastation that fell upon the Gulf Coast after Katrina - I have had so many great memories there with my Mom over the years and although there is much improvement there since Katrina, they still have a long way to go to get things back to the way it used to be there
Didn't get any pics though because I was under the impression that no cameras were allowed but it turned out that cameras were allowed after all. Oh well, I'm going to see them @ Hard Rock in August and I will definitely be bringing a camera for that one! So I got to the front and had an excellent view but there was a barrier that prevented anyone getting too close to the stage so Chris couldn't reach out and touch any fans at all during the performance. But what does he do at the end of his performance - jump down off of the stage and he ran back and forth and touched as many fans as he could before security pulled him away! I got to touch his hand for the second time now and it is definitely a moment that I'll cherish forever! Oh, and the "RockStar Moment" w/ Joey & Chris after doing their cover of Soundgarden's "Fell On Black Days" was PRICELESS, too!
Anyhoo, on with my review of the show. Man, the place was packed with a sold out crowd of 13,000 people! Because it was such a long show, I really wasn't expecting to get so close at this show since it was a much larger venue than the last one I saw the guys at and I didn't try to work my way towards the stage until right before POM was going on and I have to say that most of the young people in the crowd on the floor were surprisingly sweet and helpful to me about helping me get through the crowd to get in front of the stage for Daughtry! I actually made it to the front just in time but that was only thanks to all of them
I stayed at Hard Rock the night after the show and the dealer at the roulette table noticed my Daughtry t-shirt that I was wearing and told me that Daughtry and some of the other bands came over to Hard Rock after the CPR Fest concert and gambled in the VIP room and mingled with others in the casino for a while afterwards, too. Man, I wish I would have thought to go there after the concert, but it was such a long show and I was just sooo dang tired and my voice was so hoarse from screaming so much, got back to FL and now I'm sick as a dog but it was so worth it, lmao.
Now I just can't wait til August 4th to see Daughtry @ Hard Rock and I'm counting down the days! I hope I'll get to meet some other DO members there, too. My bff and I will probably get in line right after we wake up and have breakfast and we'll just take turns holding our spot in line all day - whew, it's gonna be a long day but I know it will definitely be worth it to be in front of the stage to see the guys!
CPR Fest
I wanted to let you know that you were awesome. I have watched you from the beginning and this was the first time I actually gotten to see and hear you in person. You rocked all of us and that was the most fun I have ever had in my ENTIRE life!!!! I love you.
GREAT SHOW!!!
Just wanted to comment, great show in Biloxi. Long trip there and back home. My son was able to go with me and we finally pushed our way up front for Puddle of Mudd, and for the place to see Daughtry close. My son was overwhelmed and enjoyed himself. I enjoyed it as well, but being a little more protective of my child being as there were some nuts in the crowd, including one that could not leave my back-end alone....always someone there to ruin it for others.
We did end up with Daughtry's song sheet, wish we could have gotten a pik or drumstick..but hey the show was great, so I was completely happy.
Waiting for Hard Rock now, only disappointing thing is my son is not old enough to attend, and he is very disappointed he can't go. We will have to catch the act together again in the future...we are both true fans. Really bothers me to hear some idiots say..that Daughtry fans are only 13 yr old kids...what an idiot...believe this guy was trying to seem as if he was cool or something, and was not cool at all. I saw a range of age groups, this guy had no clue what he was talking about.
So keep rocking, you are cool, great, and glad that my son and I could experience a great preformance together.

Love Daughtry!!!
CPR Fest
Awesome show. I was really tired by the time Daughtry took the stage but it was worth that wait. The crowd was absolutley nuts so I stayed off the floor most of the day until it was time for Daughtry. I got stepped on and pushed and everything else ( not robbed though sorry) After my failed attempts to see other shows, I never thought the day would come. Hope I can find tickets to see you guys at the Hard Rock.

Awesome Show guys
7.5 hours of Rock n Roll!!!! My legs hurt, I'm hungover I was robbed at the casino but it was worth the pain to see the hottest band of the year blow away Biloxi. I wasn't disappointed when The Band finally took the stage. Daughtry started it all off by crashing into Biloxi and he breathed his breath on a Rocked out crowd. They did have some surprises one of which was the absense of Josh Paul hope everything is ok. And the Rock Star moment with Chris and the drummer was priceless. Can't wait til the next show. Thanks for the tunes. My friend said to me that it looked like a well deversed crowd, and I told him there is no age limit on having a Rockin good time.
Funny thing is we are all VIPs
we just hav'nt figured it out yet. These guys rock if you have got a ticket see you there, if you don't find one this is the show of the year. Daughtry Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
