I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...
This band is the best thing to come out of the states in a very long time.Seeing Daughtry live last night was one of the best gig's i have EVER been to (and I go to a lot of gigs) even the security staff at the venue said it was fantastic.I became a fan ( along with most of the UK fan base) when he was on American Idol, he was one of the true talents out of many wannabes. Along with the amazing looks his voice sent chills through me and when he did " Walk the Line" I was totally blown away....goosebump stuff! All the time he was on the show I had friend in the states vote for me, and was over the moon when I was on Holiday in Florida with my family and was able to vote for him myself.
After he was voted out of the show I waited for the album, I couldnt wait to hear what Chris and the Band had to offer. I was not dissapointed when this Christmas I received the album as a gift from an american family member. Off came the traditonal christmas tunes and on when the Daughtry album, and after one lisen to the album I was hooked (along with my husband, rocker 14 year old daughter and my 5 year old mini rocker daughter)
Lisening to each track for the first time was like unwrapping loads of the best christmas presents ever...i got more and more excited and was never dissapointed. On hearing Daughtry was coming to the UK for just one gig at the Borderline Club, London I rushed to book my tickets for me and my best mate, on getting to the venue I realised this was going to be a real up-close and personal gig (the venue only holds 150 to 200 people!) Out of the blue Chris walked out in to the club to check the set up and with nerves running through me I went up to him and asked if I could have a photo, he was so nice (not like some other rock stars who can be up their own butt) one quick photo later he was gone and I was so chuffed and I knew this night was gonna be somthing special.
The band came on and WOW they blew our socks off, Chris loved our english accents and how we said Daughtry. He was also really happy that we all knew the words to the songs. Standing in front of the stage taking in every moment of the gig I sang along, shouted out "Yer Baby" and even asked for his phone number (no luck there!) When the band played Breakdown & Home the whole place went mad but it was when Chris did Elton John's Rocket Man that the goosebumps were back.
by the end of the night I had managed to get a drumstick and Josh gave me one of his Guitar picks, along with my photo of me and Chris they will all become cherished items.
I can not wait to see them again and look forward to the next UK dates and maybe if I am really luck next time I will be able to get their autograths.
I was a fan before last night but after that gig I have become a lifetime fan......
Keep Rocking Daughtry...........Yer Baby!
