Why I am a fan of DAUGHTRY

I'm a fan of DAUGHTRY (and you should be too) because...the music, the lyrics and "that voice" are so incredible by themselves that when you put them all together you get pure magic. The first time Chris auditioned on Idol I knew he'd be a longtime superstar. I was an immediate fan from the beginning; not only because his voice is so unique and amazing, but also because you could tell from the start what a genuine, good guy he is and how much he adores his family. You gotta love a real man like that!

His voice is so powerful, yet so calming to me all at the same time. I listen to the CD everyday because I simply can't get tired of it. I love every single song, and that's very rare. When I heard the CD for the first time, I thought, "Wow, I've never been so proud of someone I've never met". I wanted to sing along after just a few lines of each song, but I couldn't because it was the first time I was hearing it! I think a lot of us Chris fans had high hopes for his CD, and not surprisingly, he went above and beyond our expectations. He's truly one of the most talented and gifted singer/songwriter/musicians out there - period.

Chris sings and performs with so much emotion that I can see and feel how much he believes in these songs and this band. It's beautiful to watch. His emotion makes me feel the music in my soul more than I ever imagined I could.

One of the things I admired about him most while he was on Idol was the way he stayed true to himself and the music he wanted to sing. I never cared if the judges had comments for him that may not have been that great, because I always thought he sounded amazing. He never waivered on what he wanted to come across in his music. In a strange way I'm actually glad he didn't win, because I'm not sure there would have been a DAUGHTRY. They probably would have forced him to be a solo act and he wouldn't have been as happy (and neither would Joey, JP, Josh, and Brian for that matter!). Smiling Plus, could you imagine Chris being forced to sing "Do I Make You Proud"? My God, I can't even stomach thinking about it. Smiling I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason Chris didn't win Idol is because there was supposed to be a DAUGHTRY! I'm so excited for Chris and all the guys! You are ALL extremely talented, and you deserve every ounce of success you're getting! Your show in Columbus on Aug. 1 was incredible! You all give 150% on stage and I love how interactive you are and how much you connect with your fans. You have no problem showing that you love all of us as much as we all love you and that's simply awesome. I know DAUGHTRY will be around for a long, long time, and I'll be first in line to buy your CDs every time.

I love music and have been a fan of a lot of artists; but I've never really cared to meet anyone I've been a fan of until Daughtry. Your music means the world to me, and I listen to it every day. If it's a good day, I celebrate with it; if it's a bad day, it gets me through. I don't know how I managed before November 21, 2006. And to top everything off, you're all so down to earth and all around great guys (at least according to all of the lucky fans on this site who've already met you). If I ever get the chance to meet you and tell you all of this in person it would sincerely be the best day of my life! And maybe a picture sealing the deal that I could have framed and proudly hanging in my house for all to see wouldn't hurt either Smiling

Thank you for your incredibly REAL and inspiring music! Oh, and Chris, I'd actually like to thank your wife for telling you to try out for Idol! She obviously knew the world needed to hear what her talented husband had to say! And I remember you also saying that seeing Bo Bice helped you in your decision to audition since he opened the door for rockers on Idol. Well honey, let me tell you...I love Bo, and he may have opened the door for rockers on Idol, but YOU, my friend, kicked the door off of its hinges!! Rock on DAUGHTRY!!! I love you guys!!
