I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...Daughtry is keeping it real and doesn't sell out--that demands a lot of respect. Chris could have taken an 'easier' path and accepted the offer from Fuel, an already established band. But he chose to make a go at it himself with his own band (personally selected) and his own name, one that wasn't even on the map. And to come out onto the circuit with both barrels blazing and tearing up the charts to #1 is quite a feat; and one that is SO deserved.
The band has it's own unique sound which is awesome and powerful; the songs touch everyone in some way--there's familiarity to a point in your own life that you can tie into his lyrics. The fact that he wrote/co-wrote the songs says a lot to; he's not just there to be a face and voice; he commands to be heard--I know I'M listening!
Also, the fact that they chose to open their first tour with more 'intimate' venues to get up close and personal with the fans was fantastic. Knowing that the shows sold out in minutes shows that they could have taken the other route and sold more expensive tickets to more people, but they chose not to. That shows some integrity.
All in all, this is the BEST band with a terrific sound, look and attitude...destined to make it far and be heard from for years to come.
