i hope i wen because im the #1 fan of the daughtry band and i want to meet them so bad i hope i wen to meet and get the tickets.

Well it looks like the whole experience thing is split right down the middle. I live about 25 minutes from Merryweather. I have attended concerts here for years. Never in all my times, have I hated it as much as this night. Funny thing is, we didn't have any traffic issues. We left Baltimore at 5:45pm. We made it there before the show started and we parked on the lot of the venue. Our problem was trying to decide which line was longer to get in. After walking up behind the lawn area we pretty much stood in line for about 25 minutes to get in. In all my years, I have never had to stand in a line to get in this place. Daughtry sounded great, to bad I missed half of the performance. By time we got to the paviliion, we were able to catch maybe 3 or 4 songs. Course my favorite 2 songs were played first. Personally I think the ticket price for our seats were over priced. Face value was 72.00 and with surcharges, 83.00. We were about 6 rows from the end of the paviliion. The only reason we didn't do the lawn is because of rain but we ended up outside anyways because it was just to hot under the paviliion. We went to eat during Stained because we all came right from work. 8.00 for chicken and fries. The price wasn't so bad, the food sucked. It was more like chicken flavored breading because it was lacking the chicken. Fries were ok but we were hungry. Watched Stained from the monitors. They sounded good as well. Of course Nickelback rocked the house. They always do. I love them. However, my sole purpose was for Daughtry. I do feel the venue was over sold. Like a lot of people, we work hard for our money, if all I wanted to do was hear a good show, I could have stayed home and listened to my IPOD. Unless I win tickets , I doubt very seriously if I will return for future concerts. Chris I hope you add some more club stops on your tour because it's probably the only way I will get to see you perform again. Hope you and the boys enjoyed your visit to Maryland. I'm also sorry that other fans missed his performance entirely. I know it would have ruined my night .

While I agree that some traffic is to be expected......it is quite ridiculous to have to sit in traffic for almost 2 hours for an event. I have been attending concerts for over 25 years and I have dealt with a lot of crappy stuff.....but this was definitely the worst. For smaller crowds, Merriweather is probably a great place to see concerts.....but it is not designed to stage shows of the Daughtry/Nickelback magnitude. There is insufficient parking and routes to the venue.

As far as ticket prices...that is really irrelevant....but.....I did pay top dollar for my tickets and was in the pit......but after the ordeal we went through it was not worth the aggravation to stay.

Again....no disrespect to anyone...just think that Merriweather was not prepared or equipped for this size event.

My hub and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary with this concert.

Loved loved loved it. Chris your voice was amazing and the band was just great.

Had GREAT seats in the Pavillion (cuz we were willing to PAY a lot for them on EBay) because we're such huge Daughtry fans.

All the complaints about the venue .. I don't buy em. If you want a good experience .. pay for good seats and get there early. Traffic is part of the package for any big event. Comes with the territory.

Staind and Nickelback were really great too but we were really there to see you Chris!

It was an amazing night !!

P.S. Chris .. coming out to shoot Nickelback schwag in the Optimus Mask was COOL !! YOU ROCK!

The concert was incredible! I got there at 5:30 and didnt have a parking or getting in problem at all. When you really want to see someone in concert you get there early! We had pavillion seats and it was great. Chris is amazing!

I'm from the area, so I knew what the traffic was like and I was lucky and made it in time to see the show.....It was AWESOME!!!!! I was on the lawn and wish I could have been a little closer to see, but there were plenty of big screens to see Daughtry rockin' the house.

I gave up on Merriweather long ago.....I would never go there again unless there is a band I REALLY REALLY want to see. I just think it is outdated and just not capable of holding crowds for large bands like this combo. I used to go all the time when I was younger and it was great, but like I said, I just think the place is outdated now. I'm sorry there were several who missed Daughtry all together. That really sucks.

Okay, it was steamy hot and so was the weather! I totally enjoyed every minute of Daughtry along with the sweat dripping from body even though I wasn't in the pit, which is where I usually am!! I was stuck on the far left side with a pole right in front of me but I made the best of it!! Made a deal with the usher to let me come down toward the front so I could take some pictures. Yeah!! It was definately a different feel seeing the boys as the show opener, but I can say I didn't have to wait to see them!! (Da Boyz ROCKED!!) But now I have to wait until August to see them again!! Maybe I can squeeze in another somewhere!!

I totally agree with Tracy7795 on making sure you left enough time to beat traffic. Merriweather is a great outdoor venue!! I hate to say it but no matter what venue you go to for big name bands like Daughtry, Staind & Nickelback you are going to be packed like sardines and traffic is going to be a cluster f-! However, I also must say that I am truly sorry you missed Daughtry and found the venue a disapointment.

Daughtry - Thanks for another great show!
Oh, and halleluiah......JP is B-A-C-K!!!

YOU GUYS WERE GREAT.YES MERRIWEATHER WAS OVERCROWDED AND IT WAS VERY HOT,BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.I LOVE NICKELBACK TOO,BUT I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT TICKETS IF DAUGHTRY HADNT PERFORMED WITH THEM!I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN.IVE BEEN FOLLOWING HIS CAREER SINCE HE AUDITIONED FOR IDOL!!

Daughtry definitely kicked ass last night!!!!! The whole show was INCREDIBLE. By far, one of the best I have seen this year! As for those of you that had a bad experience....yes I will agree it was way over-crowded, but the traffic & parking is something you have to be prepared for. Merriweather is & has always been a great music venue. And I have many a time had to park @ the mall & walk over. It's no big deal if you are prepared. As for those who say you will never go there again, please reconsider. I have been going there for concerts since I was a little kid & it is & has been my favorite outdoor music venue in the area ever since. My advice, next time give yourself a little more time to get there.

ANYWAY.....DAUGHTRY ROCKED!!! Can't wait to see them again soon.

I went throught the exact same thing as you did! My sole purpose for going to the show was to see Daughtry...and I too was only 1/2 mile away from the exit and sat there for an hour and a half waiting to get in...and also had to park at the shopping mall blocks away. What a disappointment!

I called the Pavillion box office today...and not surprisingly...they were not giving refunds. I explained that it seemed as if they were poorly prepared for this concert and that they sold way too many tickets. She just came back with excuses like "well the shopping mall is our normal overflow parking area"...."we were adequately staffed"...and the best one....."it seems that the problem was that everyone left to get to the concert at the same time which is what caused the traffic jam!" What a joke!

It was my first time at this venue and will definitely be my last. Undoubtedly the WORST place to see a concert.

We were so disgusted that we didn't even stay......what a waste of $160.

Oh...and I did join the Nickelback fan club...that's how I got my tickets.....but I don't think it would have done any good because of the traffic jam.

I too am hoping to catch Chris at the York fair. I've been checking the website all day waiting for info on ticket sales.

Good luck to you casper!

If you join the nickelback fan club you (+1) get a cut the line pass and enter the venue 10 mins before everyone else. It was well worth it.

~Kim

I am so upset about last night's show. I sat at the sign saying Merriweather Post Pavilion 1/2 mile for and hour and a half. By the time I got off the main road, parked blocks away at a shopping mall and then hiked back to Merriweather I got to the gates just in time to hear Chris say "Thank you and good-night". He was my sole purpose for buying the tickets - I have seen Staind and Nickelback before. What a let down. Maybe I will have better luck at the York Fair in September.

That was one of my favorite shows. Daughtry ran up the front row again I only wish he did it before the show when he wasn't sweaty Smiling And OMG where did that bass player come from? I was on the wrong side of the stage last time I saw them because I don't remember him. F--- he's HOT!

Staind were kind of mellow but everything else was amazing. The staff were great and even gave me ear plugs since I was in the front. Chad Kroeger was unbelievable-stopping the show til we got water in the front row just topped it off.

Love this venue and can't wait to see p roach and hinder, and 3 Days Grace this summer!

that you got to see the show...I am jealous! I spent $160 for tickets and didn't even get to see the show because of the lack of preparation and preparedness of the staff at Merriweather. Have to say, I will never go to another event there. Now I'm on the search for tickets for another show where I might actually get to see Daughtry perform!

Holy Transformers, BatMan... The boys were HOT tonight!
And I don't just mean because it was a hundred and three degrees, they were on fire!
The crowd was into Chris and the boys... everyone in my area of the pit was singing and screaming and havng a BALL!!!
I loved the acoustic "Fell on Black Days" from Chris and Joey... it was the first time I'd heard them do that one!
And the boys did a full set and left the stage with Chris beaming and major crowd appreciation!

Fred & Staind were UNBELIEVABLE... I'd never seen them before, and am glad Daughtry brought me the chance to have this pleasure! Fred's voice just penetrates you... He stands there and sings, and has me hanging on every word... another talented musician with a haunting voice!

And then there's Nickelback, whose pleas to "Bring these people some F***ING WATER" brought earshattering cheers!!! Of course, their pleas were surely out of GUILT, because they singed off our eyebrows with a spectacular pyrotechnic show!!! When it's a thousand degrees, what else could you want, but huge plumes of flames??? How about Chad, Michael, and the boys standing in front of them, singing one chart-topper after another! And not only their own... they also cracked out some Elton... Saturday Night!!!

Unfortunately for Nickelback, I was mesmerized by a certain Transformer seated just off stage right (I waved -- you nodded & smiled), who along w/ Yoda helped Nickelback shoot their T-shirts and goodies all over the venue... do you recognize the men behind the masks???

I had an amazing time, and I owe it all to DAUGHTRY, and to the kindness of a fellow named Jason, a total stranger who couldn't make the show tonight, but made his tickets available to me and my hubby for our anniversary!

Thanks again for another INCREDIBLE night!

Smiling Lisa

5/24/07, 9:30 Club, Washington DC (VIP/Soundcheck/Meet & Greet) :0) thanks!

Well....I have been excited for weeks waiting to go to this show. I had never been to this venue before, but I really wanted to see Daughtry and it's only 75 miles away....so I got tickets. Well.....after sitting in traffic for almost 2 hours....even though we were less than a mile away.....and then having to park in a shopping mall parking lot several blocks away......I was EXTREMELY disappointed because we missed Daughtry perform!!!!

The venue was obviously more than 'sold out'......people were like sardines everywhere....it took around 30 minutes just to get a soda....which cost $4!!!!!

Needless to say.....by the time we got to the pit...which at any other time would have been totally awesome....we were so disgusted that we decided to leave....without hearing any of the concert at all.

Whoever organized this event definitely dropped the ball. It was the worst concert experience I have ever had. From the traffic, to the parking, to the over-crowdedness, to the outrageous food and drink prices...and I could go on and on......this was definitely the worst concert venue I have ever been to.

Where can I get a refund???? Sad
