I am a fan (and you should be too), because...
I know a lot of people probably say this, but I actually watched Chris from the beginning of him being on American Idol. I saw him from his first audition, to being chosen in the top 40 and all the way to him getting voted out (which NEVER should have happened!!!). Anyway,
I've been following Chris' career since then. I was extremely excited over the prospect of Chris forming his own band and putting out a CD. The first time I heard the single "It's Not Over", I was blown away! I just have absolutely loved the sound of his voice since I first heard him. I think it has an edginess to it while still having such emotion and meaning.
So when I finally bought the Daughtry album, I looked forward to listening to it with great anticipation. I waited until after Christmas because I wasn't sure if I would get it as a gift. Needless to say, I did not, but bought it the day after : ) I have not stopped listening to it in my car since I bought it. I drive a lot and enjoy listening to Daughtry wherever I go. What I love most about this CD, is the fact that Chris put so much of him in to the songs while still having a great band to back him up. I am also so impressed with the fact that Chris wrote or co-wrote most of the songs on the CD. It means a lot to me, because a lot of artists out there today, do not write their own music. I am especially a big fan of "Over You" because I feel it has a lot to do with my life at the moment. Music means a lot to me and this has really helped me during this time in my life. I love this CD so much, I bring it with me everywhere I go and have my friends and family listen to it too. They are now all fans as well.
The other reason I love this band (and Chris!) was based on his thank you's in the liner notes. I saw that he first thanked Jesus Christ, as his personal Lord and Savior. That speaks volumes to me, because I have been a Christian for a long time. I know a lot of artists/stars thank God, but it is much more personal to thank Christ as your Savior. Christ has had a very large impact in my life. I have had chronic kidney failure since I was 3 years old and became a Christian when I was 10. I would not be here today without Christ in my life.
I hope that people will read my message and reach those that are searching for good music, good friends, and more : )
It would be such an honor to meet Chris and the band and tell them in person how much this music and personal meaning it brings to me. Keep on rockin and enjoying life and all you do!
