UPDATE! Why do you love Joey Barnes?
Finally all your love has been posted on the Joey Barnes Canadian Street Team page. Sorry for the long delay - was having trouble with the page.
Thank you to all those that responded here and on myspace. I’m sure Joey is overwhelmed with all the love from YOU …his FRIENDS!

Because he is down to earth and he is always just Joey. Never makes excuses for who he is and always speaks his mind. You have to respect that. When he says he loves us , he means it!! When he says thank you, he means it!! We miss him terribly when he's not on my space because he always says something heart warming or thought provoking, or totally hilarious. Sure you could say he is just working it to get/keep fans….But I know he isn't. There is something very sincere and genuine about him that comes thru every time …whether you are just reading something he wrote in a bulletin , or meeting him in person, or he sends you a thank you and wishes you well. He cares about everyone and he wants us all to be happy.
OH! And he freakin rocks the drums like the devil, sings like an angel, and writes music like a poet. And he is an amazing entertainer. You just never know what he is going to come out dressed in or what crazy antics he will get up to at a show…but he will always do something to make you laugh, and scream!! And he's smokin hot if ya didn't notice!! LOL
The question is …why wouldn't he have a huge following? If you are a good judge of character it only takes you about 30 seconds to see he is the real deal. You don't get that many Joeys in a life time and if you're smart you will appreciate him as an artist and a person, definitely not cross the line or take advantage of him, and you will love him …because one, he is worthy of it and two, what you get in return is pretty F'ng Awesome!

I met Joey after the Des Moines concert April 20th. For the 10 minutes I was able to talk to him, he made me feel as if there was no one else in the world he would rather be talking to. He was just standing there, joking around with me and my mom. Talking to him is like talking to a really great guy friend. He also gives amazing hugs!!

We love him for his gentleness with kids and the kindness and care he shows them all. When he is with kids, he makes them feel like they are rockstars!
We love him for the way he always trys to take time for everyone, his amazing talent, his unique and great personality, his desire to change the world, his ability to spread joy and love to everyone, and just so many things about him.
He's very real and he's great the way he is. He's not afraid to speak up and he's such an individual and when you wrap up all of his great qualities....he's just a great guy overall.
I truly believe that he is someone who is capable of changing the world, even if it's a few people at a time. He encourages others to do good things and brings out the best in alot of people.
We are sooooooooo very blessed to know him and have him touch the lives of our family!

my friend had her car stolen on Sunday, along with it tickets to the Tulsa show on Monday. Need less to say do to some awesome team work on Cater and a fellow DO member, she got in! Then after the show Joey hung out with us and made her 6 year old girl feel like a SUPER STAR! He also signed my drum stick that I caught! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him for that!

I just finished watching the Daughtry AOL concert and man Joey is AMAZING! I am sure you guys know this already but man I was IMPRESSED!!! I guess I never really paid that much attention to him as my eyes have always been fixated on Chris. But he grabbed my attention and...WOW! He was tearing up the drums, then the keyboards with What About Now, and then backing up Chris on lyrics on the songs...WOW!!!!! Did I happen to say WOW yet, haha!

He's just the best. He's an awesome drummer and his own songs are great. I cant wait to hear more of his music. I met him last year at the diesel concert in pittsburgh. He is so down to earth and takes the time for all of his fans whether it's meeting him or even on myspace he'll respond to you. He speaks his mind, he wear whatever he wants to wear, he gives amazing hugs and of course we all know he's hot. I hope to see and talk to him more when there are more shows around me. Aww now I'm having Joey withdrawal.

But why I love him is because he is humble & GENUINE and he takes the time with ALL his fans.
When you talk with him he doesn't seem rushed or bored or distracted.

I had the pleasure of meeting Joey at our casino when they were playing, what a sweetie! He hung out before the show talking and mingling with everyone..I said to him I cant believe your just hangin out at the bar with us, and he said "I'm just a regular guy that plays the drums".
I love Joey just for that reason, you never know whats gonna come out of his mouth!
It doesnt hurt that he's smokin hot and kicks a$$ on the drums......

And whether you agree with him or not, he uses his voice to get people talking and thinking. Instead of parading around at popular celeb spots and acting like an idiot, Joey is insightful and amazingly creative. What he has put out in this world for me to grab hold of started me on a journey of self reflection that was long overdue. I don't just listen or read because he's part of Daughtry, I read because it makes sense to me or at least challenges me to think further.
I don't pretend to know Joey. I would be incredibly sad if I could ever figure out what I believe to be such a deep soul. I just hope he keeps putting stuff out there - as harsh and truthful as some of it is.

Why I love Joey so much? Because no matter how many fans/friends are waiting, he will take every second he can to take pics, sign autographs, talk to people on the phone. In Raleigh he stayed outside after the show past the fair closing time and must have signed a thousand autographs. The other guys were long gone, but he stayed until everyone had their moment with him.

he has a free fun loving spirit and lives life to it fullest just wanting to share and experience it all, I think someone else said you don't find to many Joeys and they were right, I once had a Joey in my life, he was so much like Joey, they looked nothing alike but with your eyes closed you would swear they were the same, he was taken away by illness, but I see in Joeys eyes and actions those of my friend whom will live on foever in my heart...that is why I love Joey, and that he can post pics in pink underwear...LOL...gotta love him...

This man's amazing. I really could droan on and on (believe me i've done it before) about why he's so sweet, but no one has time for it! There's so much that could be said about him. Aside from the fact that he's an insanely talented musician, he's different, and he doesn't care. He doesn't care to speak his mind and give the harsh truth when most people in the "limelight" run from doing so and instead they just follow the crowd. Joey on the other hand's like a neon sign in the sense that he stands out from EVERYTHING around him, yet he never basks in the attention! He still takes time to get to know all of his friends/fans as much as he can and he does his best to remember everyone. I met him last year, and since then I can honestly say the man has not changed! Going back to the opinion thing, he could care less about what others think of him or what he says. He's not afraid to speak out on some of the most controversial BS going on today, does this make him an inconsiderate a**hole? No, it only makes him real....something I think everyone should strive to be. The man always has something to say, serious or comical....you better believe he'll have something. On top of this- he's just an all around good guy and definitely fun to be around.

I absolutely LOVE that he says what he feels. It's so real and honest. You can see (in a MS bulletin) or hear (in an interview) the PASSION and BELIEF behind what he's saying, so you know how genuine the message is. I respect that so much whether I agree with him or not - although most of the time I find myself agreeing with him
And the man is just flat out talented. Not just a kick-ass drummer, but a ridiculously talented musician, singer and songwriter. If ya don't know - go check out his own stuff and see.
And yeah, there's the obvious...LOL...the man is beyond gorgeous!
But somehow he manages to stay his sweet, warm, down to earth self...just wantin' love and peace to overtake our minds and our hearts. Can't beat that with a bat, baby! 
And plus...hell, he's just silly and can make you laugh out of friggin' no dam* where! (hence the latest photo album on his myspace or his Ace of Base bulletin!) LOL

I think you've stated a lot of intersting facts about Joey here and you're totally rock. I don't doubt him for a second that he's being sincere in everything he does and I respect him for sticking to his opinions and saying what he thinks b/c that is real and important and it means a lot to me. He's mulit-talented and can do anything he puts his mind to and you never know what he's going to do next but that's what makes him so likeable and a wonderful character. I like that he's honest and caring and does what he wants to do. His individuality is unique and I don't think he needs to apologize for anything he says that may rub people the wrong way. He has the right to his own opinion just like the rest of us do as well. I have the impression he's an all around great person and doesn't need to be fake to get people to love and admire him. I think he has a big heart and really does want joy and happiness to be in the lives of all .Joey is amazing and I love him and cannot think of anything negative to say.
