My Review of Cinnanati, OHIO...BOGARTS..not as pleasant

Well my experiece wasn't as pleasant. I am a HUGE Daughtry fan. I live in KY and drove 6 hours to see this concert. We got there about 5 and went and got our will call tickets with no promblems...people were already lined up. But we had to go check into our hotel. We got back to Bogarts at 7:10, the doors opened at 7:00. When we got into the place to our surprize there were noooooo seats!! I guess we had never thought of having to stand the whole time..don't get me wrong I don't mind standing for a little while but not for 3 1/2 hours. I had wore my high heel boots and my husband wore his leather coat. It was soooo hot in this place. So we got in the crowd, that was already half way full. But I pass out easily..I couldn't take standing up for that long between all those people. I could of made it just for chris, but not with 2 other bands. So I made my way up to the next level, and leaned up against the wall....by god's grace there was a air vent by me. I was already miserable from having to stand. At exatly 8:00 Cinder Road came out...they were decent, but nothing special..he did remind me of Constaine. They played for about 30 minutes, then probally 15 minutes later Eve to Adam came out. Their lead singer had a much better voice...and a killer body, but I dind't know anything he sung..so I couldn't enjoy it as much...to make matters worse people were getting VERY intoxicated. There was a little girl in front of us watching with all these drunk people all around. Then to make the night worse a drunk couple came up by us and started jiratting beside us...they needed to get a room, this poor little girl didn't know what to think...they were bumping into everybody and trying to cut in front of people....my feet were killing me, and I was being distraced by this couple. Finally Daughtry came out....I had a pretty good view. Chris was awesome....I made my way to the bathroom up by the stage to get a good pic. When I returned to my place the couple had took my spot, my husband told him to move, and they made a scene. I couldn't enjoy the concert...because of this couple and having to stand...it would'of of been so much better if I had a seat, and they would have turned the air up....I was sweating. i'm so glad I didn't bring my 8 year old son to this concert. He loves Daughtry. But with all the drinking going on..I would of not wanted him exposed to this. From what little I got to see of the concert...Chris's voice sounded awesome...guess I was just in the wrong place. There were several people getting escorted out from being falling down drunk. And people were passing out from getting to hot..I would'of been one of them if I had been down on the floor. But I'm still glad I got to go. Chris Rocks...Waiting for the next concert with seats!!!

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience! I was there, too, and was in some serious pain because we had been standing all day the previous day for Birdy's also. I was in the second row and also had to deal with some drunkeness. And you're right - it was HOT! Sweat was rolling off me like crazy, and I, too, was afraid I would pass out because I hadn't had a drop of ANYTHING to drink for fear it would make me have to go to the bathroom!! I guess that we can chalk it up to a good old rock and roll experience! Don't worry, they'll be at the bigger venues SOON!!!

I understand your situation as mine was very similar. I survived the first two bands but missed half of Daughtry's concert. It is a lifetime opportunity to see Daughtry up close and personal but not without tradeoffs. In the end, it was still a great concert and memory!

Rocked it with DAUGHTRY on ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
July 17, 2009 ~ Jimmy Kimmel ~ Seattle
Sept. 10, 2007 ~ Rocked Hard ~ Puyallup
Sept. 1, 2007 ~ Acoustical and Intimate ~ Salem
Feb. 11, 2007 ~ Up Close and Personal VIP ~ Portland

the venue was also pretty crammed....I had these drunk people in back of me that kept pushing...and I had some teenage punk that pushed his way in front of me...I was practically eating his hair, and he kept putting his elbows and hands in places they weren't supposed to be. But I wouldn't have had it any other way. Being that close to DAUGHTRY just made up for everything and as soon as they came onstage...all of that just left my mind. It was an awesome night! Really sorry your night didn't turn out the way you wanted it Sad

I appreciate being given the opportunity to see Daughtry in a small venue. This was a chance of a lifetime and one of the main reasons why I was determined to see him on this tour. Not all artists give their fans the same opportunity and you know that it is grueling schedule for the band . Sure it was hot and that is to be expected, and if you knew anything about Bogart's you know that it is a "pit" and always has been it has not changed in years. I was warned ahead of time that security was generally rude and I found that to be true. The restrooms were disgusting which seems to be the norm at most concerts. I personally made the decision not to drink at the event because I did not want to have to deal with the restrooms and I did not want anything to impair my memory of Chris performing live.
I did my research came prepared and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED EVERY MINUTE! I seem to be experiencing a bit of withdraw right now.
Can't wait to see him in Nashville.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I had a pretty similar one at the Machine Shop in Flint, MI. And I agree, as much as I love Daughtry (to the point where if my boyfriend hears anything about him he gets nauseas), I won't attend another concert in a small venue. Of course I say that now and I probably will. But I had such a bad taste in my mouth after I left that it just ruined the whole thing.

I'm sorry the experience was a bad one for you too. There were a few tables up in the balcony when I first got there. I'm sure they filled up quickly though. I was one of the first batches of people to be let in though. Plus I did my research and knew it was going to be a standing only concert. Even with my sneakers on my feet hurt. After the concert I saw all the girls in cutesy high heels walking around barefoot and carrying them. My friend said the bathroom to the right of the stage was nasty too. I held it. I didn't want to get cooties. Overall though, my experience was awesome. But with seeing DAUGHTRY, no matter what took place I would have just sucked it up. I'll NEVER get this experience again and no matter how crummy of a venue Bogarts is, I'm sure as hell glad he came there. I'll take a crummy small venue over a big ol' arena anyday of the week. I like the intimacy.

"Super Fan Stacy"-- aka DAUGHTRY's biggest fan in Cincinnati!!!

Sorry the place was so hot and crowded.
I am really worried about my Cleveland concert. I heard that the Grogshop is reaaly tiny. They are sold out to a tune of 400 tickets. I know I will be way in the very back of the crowd because I cant take the pushing and shoving that I heard takes place close to the front.
I know I can endure the crowd and heat but I dont know about my husband. I hope he can put up with it.

I hate the thought of getting old but it's better than the alternative.

you were disappointed!
I don't think I could have sat through our concert if they had glued my @## to the seat! LOL
(maybe I could have stood on the seat to get a better view though!)

unfortunately this kinda stuff is the price we pay for smaller venues. Next time he comes to town it will be in a big ole area, plenty of seats and you can see him on the big screen. Just a different experience I guess.
Hope you have enough good memories to last you til next time!

I agree with the heat..It was misearable..When the first two bands were out I could barely stand the heat...As soon as Chris was out there on that stage though I forgot all about it...I am 5'1...I was standing behind a guy that was 6 feet tall and had to stand on my tiptoes pretty much the entire time to see anything and even then the view wasn't all that great...I had some girl fall into me and nearly knock me over and I can garauntee you that she was MUCH more than drunk-She had to be passed literally from person to person to get her to the side as we were standing in the middle...I was sweating...Part way through my deoderant quit working-lol-
Yes I saw that there were Kids there...BUT-as a parent, they knew that they were taking there kid to a BAR-They made that choice to take their child into that atmosphere, as did anyone else who knew that there would be alcohol involved. Anytime that there is a bar, there are always obnoxious people...
So maybe it wasn't a PRIME location...But I can't agree with you..If you LOVE Chris and the Band no amount of Hell is too bad to put up with to see them ..
This concert was the most amazing one I have ever been to in my life..EVER...No matter what kind of crap I had to put up with to see him, it was ALL worth it....
I am sorry to hear that you don't feel the same way

It was packed but I kinda expect it. I could hardly breathe at times. I was suffocating. I was up kinda close but I thought woah this isn't worth it. I need to breathe! I saw Simple Plan as well and it wasn't that crowded. Ah,well.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience because of the atomshpere. I'm from the cincinnati area and i've been to Bogarts many times and I can honestly say that it is usually very crowded like that. Especially for how many tickets they sold for that concert. There have never been seats in there the many times i've been there but I havent been for a long time. The last concert I saw there was simple plan and it was so crowded also. Chris just needs to play at bigger venues. Maybe soon he will! =)

Thanks so much for posting...sorry that you had an unpleasant experience. From what I am reading, I am weraing a tank top on Wednesday I think...It's probably gonna be like a sardine can in there! I hope for the most part though, that you enjoyed the concert.

Can you share your pics?
