'September' says it all for me! I did decide to Leave This Town and the years go by and time just seems to fly, but the memories remain but it was worth it in the end!
And now time to revisit!!!
And it's September.
That song has a very personal meaning for me!.
Am going to love seeing the beauty of Devon and Cornwall, and brief visit to hometown of London and around Essex.
Then on to Germany to catch up with Anja from here.
Dont forget me , I'll be back home in NZ where my computer is early November!

No England are not taking part this year, the matches are being televised but I am not watching, I am not a big footie fan unlike the rest of my family, my sister, is a HUGE Chelsea fan and would watch it all day long if she could.
I must say that it isn't the same without England though!

BUT we got the European Soccer Championship to have fun with those days.
Kaz, sorry to say but it's bad that GB is not participating
German is on today so all the guys meet up for BBQ. Such a great atmosphere here. Like in 2006, when Germany hosted the World Soccer Championship. WICKED.

Lay in bed last night just about to drop off and the 'Home' video came up on the Rock Download Charts, it is a non mover this week and stayed at number 9. Its so cool its doing so well without any promo at all.
I set my alarm for 5.55am this morning and I got to see the guys on The Ellen Show, singing with the African Choir. So wonderful, and what a great way to set me up for the day!
Although... I didnt fall asleep until 2am and waking up at 6 has left me feeling somewhat knackered LOL!

Thing is with Chris, though he was an Idol, once his music is heard, the Idol connection soon seems to be forgotten, and he is respected for his talent and his music!
Sounds much the same as here Kaz. Only our first Idol (out of 3 shows) did well at the start, but a year later no-one took him seriously, though he is very talented. Since then, no Idol has been given airplay or anything - well only Kelly Clarkson prior to Chris.
People just need to hear the music for what it is! Need to get out there and put some more money into a few juke boxes in crowded places maybe.
And request and request over and over!

...our equivalents find it hard to shake off the label here I think, our winners over the years havent done so well, maybe their first album sells well, but then they dive into obscurity, only one that seems to have done ok is Will Young, and he isnt around much any more
I just wish the Daughtry promotion would hit here in the UK, I am sure they will do well, but its just seems so quite.

pretty good actually. I could see people looking up at the screens and watching.
Funny thing is I put other songs on but right after Daughtry finished a DJ came in and turned the jukebox off so I made it just in time hahahha
I think Idol contestants can still struggle to be taken seriously, but it doesn't seem to hamper their commercial success in Britain.
That's something anyway - that it's added to juke boxes! Need to play it over and over so lot's of people get to hear it and want to know more about the singer and band!
Chrisc, you say the problem there is havng American rock bands accepted there, the problem here is anyone who has had anything to do with an Idol show being taken seriously and accepted.
So it's a huge achievement that Chris has overcome that here and people love the music for what it is! And getting the radio stations to accept it and play it is the biggest thing to overcome - and it's been done here!

I wouldn't worry about the UK reviews. There's a general snootyness when it comes to American bands coming to Britain with a rock sound. The sound in Britain is so indie at the moment, they seem content on rejecting any bands from over the water. But hey, the music as always speaks for itself.
Last night I was in a student bar and decided to go up to the jukebox. Wasn't going to put any money in it until I noticed they had It's Not Over. Money in and selected it, and the record that was playing instantly switched off and Daughtry came on WITH the video - it was an awesome moment. haha
hi all ....... daughtry need to come to the north west of england.....quickly !!!!! to rock our asses off ......awesome album .....
UK reviews not favourable you say Kaz!!!!!! How can that be? What's wrong with the people writing them? Well, as you say surely the sales figures will speak for themselves - about what the public likes!
And Radio won't play it!!! What's up with them too - frightened of competition for UK singers?

I'm from Finland, hoping that Daughtry will do better in the UK than here, they were number 34 last week on the album chart and now they've dropped from top 40!!
it's because of the lack of promotion, which is only Sony BMG Finland's fault (they released Daughtry's album here)....... well hope they get on the top soon again!!!!!

It's so good that folk in the UK are just picking up the CD in the shops and coming on here almost straight away - really reflects the appeal of Daughtry.
And yeah Chris' voice is priceless like, it's that guttural sound that I love so much . Awesome.

Bought this CD yesterday after hearing a few snippets on the TV and thought now that's my kind of music. I love it, Mr Daughtry you have a voice to die for.
So glad this has been released in the UK.
