Barb, always thinking of you please let us know about your med situation if anything came through for you. It's terrible to think that people with such a serious illness can't get the meds they need. Please search all your avenues & if I can do anything let me know. lol

Talking about insurance companies out to make money. For years we both belonged to SouthernCross - a private medical insurance company, and hardly ever claimed. As we got older the fees got higher and higher. So we deiced we couldn't afford it. Now both me and Mike could do with something done - and we can't even get on the waiting list for normal hospital care and ops as not considered urgent or serious enough.

Yes indeed Monica, tiring when away, but now looking at photos reminds me how lovely it all was. Not such a busy touristy apart of the country as the eastern side of Australia. I could happily live in Bunbury, the city my g/son is at, right by the sea. But I did miss the greeness of NZ.

Well - I did it! Finally joined Facebook! A big step for me! Exciting putting all my likes there - like Daughtry! With a picture of Chris automatically!
Did it mainly to show family some holiday pics, easier than e-mailing and can show more that way too. Have to learn how to work it all now - and don't want to be too public!!!!!!

Barb, thanks for the update on whats going on in your treatment. Looks like they are really keeping track of things, which is good but the denial of your brain meds is another story. Barb, an insurance denial isn't always the end of it. You can have your Onocology Dr put in an appeal with your insurance company, I am sure he is familiar with it, stating the reason why the drug is required. If not that, then your Dr can look into the company who makes the drug needed for any free meds for patient's that are unable to get it. I'm so sorry you are dealing with those nasty side effects of steroids. They can be ugly. Please let us know of your MRI results. Thinking of you (((hugs)))

Yvonne, sounds like you really had a great time. I know you & Mike must of been beat with the fast schedule they had planned out for you all. But I know it was all worth it & you have chalked up more memories & pictures of your adventures. That is soooooo great!! It's really nice to have you back though.

I'm back - has taken a few days to catch up and get myself awake enough to function normally!
Was a full on holiday! Those youngsters (son & his wife and grandson & partner) take a bit of keeping up with, and I think sometimes they forget we don't have the same stamina!
Every single day was planned and full-on. Up early and out to see new places! Sometimes we just had to opt out and rest. Bit of a squash too, 5 of us in one car most times. Though had 2 cars or a 6-seater at weekends!
Saw so many wild-life parks, lighthouses, a dam, beaches, forests, aave, museums, zoo and aquarium, etc.
Fed and stroked so many kangaroos and other animals, including close up with koalas. All really cute!

But all good and had a lovely time and was so good to see g/sons new life and get to know his lovely partner and meet her family, etc. They couldn't do enough for us!
Even drove past where Gena and Jojo live I since have realised - but non-stop on our way to somewhere all together! Good to see whereabouts they live though! But no chance to meet up!

Now heaps of photos to enable us to relive the memories even more.

Catching up here, loving seeing Chris's little children on the front page there, the first time since they were tiny babies - for me anyway! Haven't those babies grown so much into such cute little children!

Barb - such good news, and makes coming back here so much happier - so glad all seems like it will be good for you! Was a bit of a worry there!

Airlie, sorry about the job situation agian. And that your son missed that special day for mums! Maybe he was busy with something and just overlooked it, still loving you the same as any other son does!

Monica - back with you and good to see you keep the pound open and missed reading from you here.

Just wanted to let y'all know my GOOD NEWS!!!

Saw my medical oncologist yesterday & got the ALL CLEAR from my PET scan/bloodwork....NO CANCER iin my body or blood!!!! They can still see the brain tumors, but the dr says they are dying off slowly. He also told me there's a drug I can take, if ok'ed, that will penetrate the brain/blood barrier & help to fight off other tumors. He wants me to be off the steroids before staring it, so that won't happen until June. He was very encouraging & I feel so much better about my future now.

I'm still real tired from the radiation...he says that will last for another few weeks, but will improve gradually. And once I can stop the steroids, I'll feel better,too. I can't wait to start livin MY LIFE again!!!!

Well, FINALLY!!!!!

I can post from home again...and I have absolutely NO idea why!!!

Just wanna let y'all know that I'm ok...still tryin to recuperate from my most recent "adventure" with this cancer that seems to have taken a liking to me. I had a PET scan (please forgive me if I'm repeating myself...I seem to do that kinda thing now) to rule out any further spread in my body...I'll get those results in a week or so. I'm still on the steroids, which make me feel really crappy, but they have given me a tapering-off dose that will eliminate them completely by June. Can't wait!!! I will have a follow-up MRI around the end of May to determine if the brain tumors have actually died off like they're supposed to from that radiation treatment....I'm very anxious to have that done & find out once & for all that they're gone. That will give me the peace of mind I really need to get back on track with my life.

I so appreciate all your good thoughts & prayers & positive vibes....every little bit helps

Just an update on what's what with me...idk how many of you know, but I've had a setback in my battle with breast cancer. It spread to my brain & I had a very specialized radiation treatment to eradicate the two tumors they found. I am still recovering from that and have to have further tests to rule other mets to the body, plus follow-up MRI's to keep tabs on any recurrence in my brain. This has been a very real physical & psychological setback for me...actually, it wasn't even on my radar of possibility cuz I was doing so well & feeling so good. I'm not about to give up in any sense, and the drs say I can live a long time with this...kinda surreal to be typing that about myself, gotta tell y'all. Anyway, please keep praying for me...I know you will, and it means everything to me. I'll try to post when I can...I love reading about all your Daughtry experiences!

Airlie & Monica, so glad you got your VIP experience and enjoyed the concert! I agree, safetysuit was awesome, & Mike Sanchez too. I went to kOrlando, Boca, Jacsonville shows over this past weekend. Saw the guys after each show at the buses, plus one VIp on Saturday night! Saturday after our soundcheck, we went to eat right outside the outdoor venue...could hear the other soundchecks. Heard a beautiful voice...Elvio...singing Piano Man & New York State of Mind! I tweeted him and asked if that was him and he answered yes. Just a few minutes later, he came walking out and yelled at him...khe came over and joined us at the table for about 40 minutes &we had the best visit about him and his old band and a band camp he runs for kids Quite a nice guy ))

"Hey everyone", well I'm back all Daughtryfied & energized. It was a wonderful two days. We went to Clearwater the day before the concert had a cheap motel to stay in nothing fancy or modern but it was clean. I met up with Airlie after her work that day. She came to the motel where we stayed & was sooooo great to see her again. Then we went out to dinner at Carrabas which was good, as always, but chatting with Airlie & catching up was a delight:) The next day Gene & I met Airlie at Ruth Ekherd Hall. We patiently waited for the VIP to be called (Gene didn't have VIP). We got our VIP tags & lined up getting more excited knowing it was getting closer to shake the guys hands & see them up close & personal. Thank goodness the weather was nice & had shade to stand in. We were let in & told to line up,, then the train begain. We were creeping up little by little & watched all the smiling faces come out of the meet & greet area. Whalah,,,woohoo we were there!!! The guys were lined up with smiling faces & we began our shaking hands & hello's. When I got to Chris I told him of a Daughtry fan I knew who was ill & wanted me to give him a hug. So I told him because of the rules I would give him a air hug (being that the rules were no hugs,kisses,rubbing bald heads etc.) so I hurriedly told him her name & where she saw him at last & he said "Oh, what the heck come here" & gave a hug!!!! So I benefited from my friends request also. I shook Steely, Brian & started to walk out with excitement & the photo guy said "Hey, get in for your picture". I said "Oh" I took a few steps & got in between Chris & Robin. Wow I guess I was a little flustered!!! It all happens so fast, I wish they would give us a minute or two to talk with the guys. But I must say the VIP gifts were AWESOME!!! A great Daughtry carrying bag (like big enough for a computer or books etc) with a big picture of Daughtry band along with some guitar pics with Clearwater FL Daughtry on them. Everything was so GREAT!!! The only bad part of this, I wasn't sitting with Airlie, she was in 2nd row!!!! I was in the second section with my husband but still had a great view. So just wanted to share a little of my experience & Airlie will have a song list I'm sure so I didn't get into that. A big surprise was Safety Suit,,AWESOME also!!! They really got the crowd pumped up, had wonderful songs & sounded great!! If you haven't seen them you are in for a real treat.

It was a great two days but now it's over. I do have great memories to reflect on though. Ok I took up enough room in this forum. Yvonne & Gena I hope you can have the opportunity to see them one day. Sending (((hugs))) to you all & asking for prayers for Barb our friend here. Have a great week everyone.

I so need to have some fun!! Work is ok, but tiring in more ways than one (still have some responsibility for Mom), round trip travel is 1 1/2 hrs - ridiculous!!!

Just wanted to report that the VIP in Cleveland last night was AWESOME..I FINALLY got to see these guys up close and personal. OMG, I was so nervous...it went so fast but was totally worth it! Can't wait for the pictures to post so I can get my copy and brag to all my friends and family!!!!! My heart hasn't pounded that fast in a LONG time...my hands were shaking so much that I had a hard time picking up my duffel bag (which I must say is soooo nice). I actually blurted out to the people waiting in line to meet them when I was coming out that "I can die now, my life is complete"...everyone was laughing and I don't really remember saying it so loud..but my daughter keeps reminding me! Oh, well...it was a great, unforgettable evening! The concert was so Great....but all their concerts are!! Hope everyone gets a chance to see the BTS tour and mostly get the VIP experience..if you haven't done so already. Well heck, it you have DO IT AGAIN!!!!! I am still on cloud nine today!!!!! Hi...just reading through all the forums and ran across your group. What an awesome idea! I feel Daughtry is the best thing since my obsession with Journey in the late 70's early 80's. My daughter and I are seeing them for the 4th time tomorrow in Cleveland and actually have a VIP for the first time EVER! We are so excited...not only is Daughtry and awesome, talented band..they give my daughter and I a "special" bond!
