Just wanted to check in now that I have passed a milestone birthday on April 1st. Thanks to those who wished me Happy Birthday using various methods, LOL!!

Heading up to NC later this week with a car full of boxes of Mom's stuff for my youngest sister (that didn't fit in their rental uHaul back in January). I'll get to see more of NC than I have seen in the past.

I have to be out of Mom's house by June 1st. No clue as to where I'm moving, 3 choices, not thrilled about 1 of them.

Several health issues that I am working on. Lots of palpitations that aren't related to panic/anxiety issues. Thank goodness for my grief counselor. I am having LOTS of panic attacks, so not good!

Lot of things coming at me besides Mom's death in December.

You know what, I never had an ambitions to travel or anything, but it was Airlie that made me see different, she said to me once about her not sitting down and letting things go by or something similar!
Then of course our plans for our DOGG get-together got me saving and it went from there!
Do what you can while you can and make the most of every chance to do something!
I'm so thankful for the pound really for making my life expand!!!

Me, I'm busy right now comparing hotels in San Francisco and LA, for our stop-offs on way to England and back. My, San Francisco is an expensive place to stay at - Fishermans Wharf anyway! Want to book, but exchange rate keeps changing - for the worse for me! I can't wait to go!

Have 2 grandsons just started High School this month. Both will be growing up very quickly now!

Hey my DOGGS! I finally can inform you that I will now become an OFFICIAL DOGG, Ryan & Meredith are expecting twins!!!! ETA Aug 24, which is Brian Craddock AND Josh Steely birthdays, although as twins often do, they may they come before then.... couldnt wait to share this with you all. They told us on xmas day but asked us to wait to announce at 12 weeks. wish I coulda told Barb too <3

This is a very sad time for us all. Airlie, my condolences to you & your family for the loss of your Mother. No matter how old they get when they pass it is difficult to lose a Mother. Thank you Airlie & Mitzi for informing us of Barb's passing.

I think the shock of hearing of Barb's passing is beginning to wear off. Tears are flowing from my eyes as I type this. She put up such a good battle but God won & gained another Angel. Anyone who has met her personally knows what a special lady she was. I am glad Airlie, that we had that special Daughtry weekend with Barb a couple of years ago. It was a very special time & I am so glad I had the pleasure of meeting Barb & spending a few days with her she was one of a kind. Barb's presence will be greatly missed in the world.

Just a quick note to let you know that my Mom was put into Hospice Continuous Care this past Wednesday, the 19th, here in her own home.

Medical personnel were with her 24 hours a day, making sure she was comfortable and in no pain and that she was calm.

Early in the morning on December 22, 2012, at 1:05 a.m., EST, Mom passed away. She lived a long life, 97 years, and it was time for her to leave this world.

Ever since last weekend, I knew that she was ready to leave because of not eating or drinking, refusing her various medications and supplements. Mom did not want to be moved or touched as her time approached.

I was so hoping that Mom would have been with us until my youngest sister & her husband arrived in Tampa, today, to celebrate the holiday. In God's plan, that was not meant to be.

The last words she said to me were "I love you" and I told her "I love you"; then she started to cry a little. Of course, I was crying too, but managed to ask her why was she crying, she didn't reply, and just went back to sleep.

I was with Mom as her heart beat for the very last time.

Hospice Continuous Care medical personnel are wonderful - thank God for people who can help to make the transition from life to death as comfortable as possible for those who are ready.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and an extremely Happy New Year!!

Just a few words to fill you in on what has been going on with me. I was fortunate to get a temp, full-time assignment for 10 days which finished up on the 13th of Dec.

Mom's health is on the downhill slide; not sure if she has a cold, virus or other right now, but not good. She is now bed bound, eating/taking in fluids/medicine very minimal, if at all.

Just keeping her comfortable as much as possible. Hoping to find out what is creating congestion in her lungs; doesn't sound good.

Hope she makes it to Christmas.

Well, my tree's up, pressie shopping finally done Still as stressed about xmas as every other year!!!! Can't get into the food side at all, Mike always takes over there!

Hope the rest of you are getting more into the xmas spirit and enjoying it!
But have been to see xmas parade and Arnya on her day-care float. And graduation from Intermediate to High School for Reegan. Made me and Joanne tearful, seeing him leave the school he's been at for 8 yrs, and move on to big boys school!!!!!

Have Carol singing this Sunday, that always gets me into a better xmas mood!

Oh, and my leg still hurts!!!!

Mitzi - know you're all caught up in Daughtry's world right now.
Monica, well, leg has a short-term mend. Had an ultra-scan, and is a problem with hardening of joint at top of leg - probably due to standing and up and down on the rubber mats at work. An injection has relieved it for now - but not permanent. As long as I go to work, it's not going to go away. So no - no extra hours for me this year at work. Hard enough standing for one long day a week now! Decided I'll persevere until after our trip back to England next Sept, then will have to think about if I can carry on at work with the standing involved.
But exciting, plans for our trip are working out, and are booking places to stay. This travelling sure has caught on with me!
Xmas not far now is it!!! Guess the tree will have to go up next week. Seems no time at all since I got it all out last time!
Aren't those gorgeous pictures Deanna has been sharing, of the twins. Chris sure willl love being a dad, to his own ittle babies, more than anything in the world I'd think!

I went to the docs today after a leg that's been painful all year and often has me hobbling and unable to bend down to pick thing up - I'm like a real old a lady at times!. Even have trouble kneeling down to do the weeding! He's sent me for untrascan.

"Hellooooo" well I got in but in a different way. This site is really getting tricky. Well, sooooooo sad to hear JP is leaving his Daughtry brothers & fans. Sounds like everyone is sad about it but life at times throws hard decisions our way & we do our best to make the right way for all involved. I know this must be really difficult for JP & the band. Changes are not always easy. You will be greatly missed JP for your loving & friendly personality to fans. I wish you the best in everyway & everything you do!!

Hey Yvonne, so glad you were able to get in here again. It has been sooooo crazy. Gene & I just celebrated our 48th Anniversay this week. We just went away for three days & took in the three series game of baseball since the season is almost over. I will miss it. Did you do anything for your Anniversary? We don't usually just happened the games where close to it & made a little get away out of it. My condolences for the loss of your brother-in-law. Please send my condolences to Mike also, it is so hard when a sibling passes they are part of our childhood memories. Good for you for planning another trip to England. I know you miss it dearly. Barb, hope things are progressing with you & getting closer to you getting off steroids!!!!! I know that will be a celebration!! Please let us know how your CT scan & checkups are coming along. I apologize because I am such a lagger keeping in touch with people but I think of you often. My only grandson is turning 21 today!!! Wow how time flies! A few family members are going to a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you etc. for this birthday then we will go onto a new game/bowling/bar place that is suppose to be pretty cool. Keep up the great attitude, I know your days must really be a struggle with not feeling good but you are such an inspiration to us all!!!! (((hugs)))

"Hope everyone had a good Labor Day"! I had a quiet one at home but was good being no labor at work today. Hah Gene & my son went to his sister's today to do some work on a generator for her, didn't feel like going so did what I do best,,,,NOTHING!!! One of my grandaughters had her 13th birthday party Sat. so the family was all together then for a barbeque etc.

That is awesome Airlie that your Mother is 97 yrs young. I hope you managed to get some down time for yourself while your sister was around. I hope your P.T. extension does better for your knee this time. I know it's not fun but necessary to get where you need to be. Belated Birthday wishes to you Mom.
