First Daughtry concert and we were hooked, couldn't wait to see where he was playing next!

The show was the best at riverbend. I mean who got into the crowd more than Chris did. NOBODY thats right. I mean just like everyone said he only has one CD out right now. I mean when you gets more songs then he will be able to play longer. I still think that it was a kick ass show and hopefully he will come back to Chattanooga soon because I will be one of the first to get tickets. Sweet show man, keep up the great work!!!

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but come on that show was awesome. How long did you really expect them to perform, they have 1 CD. You can only do so many cover songs, Chris and the guys aren't trying to be a cover band.

And on the stage seats issue I heard it was more of a management decision than a personal decision from Chris and the guys.

Then there is the show in March Issue, the reason that show was cancelled was because Riverbend took them. I talked with one of the guys that runs Rhythm and Brews back in February when all of this took place and he said that the reason they had to cancel was because they were "taken" by Riverbend.

Chris, Joey, JP, Brian and Josh S. - please come back to Chattanooga, we all do not convey the same feelings as robryley. We love you guys!!!

Even though you were sick that was an awesome show!!! I sat at club riverbend and the view was awesome. I will defintely go to all the concerts i can and I know they will be just as good if not better. I cannot get enough of DAUGHTRY!!!

Anyone notice in the Chattanooga review of the show the reporter reported on the hit single "TRASH" and "How it used to be". Just thought that was kind of funny. Aren't you supposed to edit things before you print them?

I thought Chris and the Guys were by far the best. The crowd was pump and really into it. Thanks Joey for coming out and letting us fans get pics of you.Like many others I came home looking for the next concert. I can't wait to see you guys again. WE LOVE CHRIS AND THE BAND.

Let's not let the negative posts get us down! Those of us who were in Chattanooga and really care for the guys know that it was an amazing show!!!!
There is no comparison to Daughtry in concert! The engergy leaves you pumped up and so excited you come home frantically trying to find another concert to go to! LOL
(which...Tabatha and I quickly figured out!) lol

The guys are completely amazing and beyond my words! Not only do they completely blow you away in concert....they are truly some amazing, kindhearted and loving guys!!!
These guys have my heart....the hearts of my kids and everyone that I know that knows of them! They truly touch lives!!!!!!!
So no fear....no negative post here! Only love......What We Want is more and more Daughtry!!!

Guys....just keep doing what you are doing and know you are loved and supported!!!!!!!!!

Love ya!!!!!!
Cheyenne

Mom who is blessed with special needs kids, great friends and the kindness of Daughtry!!

robriley if you had followed any of the tour you would have known DAUGHTRY only does about a 40/45 min concert you seem more concerned with personal stuff than music....other people went for the music and LOVED IT and that's what counts. I hope DAUGHTRY does go back to Chatanoogga just to piss you off AND I hope the crowd is just as HUGE.

Not sure where you are getting your info from. And to even say stage side seats makes me laugh...Did you notice the stage was like oh I dont know.....200 feet in the air??Sounds like you have nothing else to do but whine!!!

Chris is nothing but a whiner. He didn't like the fact that his manager signed him up months ago when his going price was much lower. He only got a quarter of his current going rate and threw a fit the whole time. People who paid premium prices for stage side seats were told they had to leave! All because "that's not in my contract. get rid of them or I walk." He already canceled a show here in Chattanooga back in March and this time only did a 40 minute set. Hey Chris.... Please don't come back.

Does anybody have any good pictures from the show?

We are thinking about it, the date is close to my brother and sisnlaws Fl. trip and thats who I'll be going with so its still up in the air but I'm hoping it works out that we can go!

NC would be terrific- My cousin wants to go with me to a show so we were looking into dates in NC too! I have family there- so depending on where the show is- free food and a place to stay LOL!

I am in over-load too- but my page was pre-pimped.

I did take my favorite concert pics to wally world and had ALL of them enlarged to glossy 8x10's and I have enough to cover my wall.

HEHEHEHE

We should talk about the NC thing if you are serious- I'd love to take my cousin- she needs the break so bad- her husband was in a terrible car accident and was comatose and near death for so long- now that he is home he still needs constant care- she never left his side during the whole ordeal and now she spends every moment working and caring for him.

I think she deserves a nice night of Daughtry-fied bliss.

We sat on the side walk and could every every word perfectly at first the music was louder than his voice and thought oh great but they go it worked out and it was GREAT....This years riverbend sound has been the best out of all there years I've been, You usually can't hear a thing they are saying but this year they have a wonderful sound system...

Trying to find a date so I can plan my next Daughtry concert! lol.

We had the actual seats and we thought everything sounded great. Four of us drove 10 hours from Illinois for this concert and we weren't dissappointed. While I wish I could have been right next to him we can't have it all. Smiling I think each venue has their own way of doing things...each concert of his I've been to has been set up totally different. We love you Chris!!!

Daughtry was GREAT...my gripe was solely with the festival staff and set up!! We saw him in Alabama the night before and as always he was unreal. Chattanooga was my 4th show!!! They were amazing.....:)And I had no prblem with the length of the show Smiling I could hear him sing for 2 min or 2 hrs!!!

I don't get this... yeah it was great and I would have LOVED to have listened to Chris sing for another three hours... but...

They only have the one cd... and that only has 12 songs on it (not counting the bonus acoustic tracks)... so at say 3-4 minutes a song... you do the math...

He did most the cd and a cover song...

They had another show the next day in Missouri and had just come from a show in Alabama...

I don't think anyone could expect them to just sing and play endlessly...

They put on a helluva show- full of passion and energy-

I sure as heck couldn't keep up that kind of intense pace and especially not night after night with such a full and hectic tour schedule.

I was thrilled with the show... we sat 4th row... I had no problem hearing - and it sounded great.

I did hear that those sitting near the fountain area had trouble hearing.

It seems to me other that those "too short" posts... the main gripes had more to do with Riverbend than with Daughtry.

I have lived here for 15 years... went to Riverbend my first year here... never went back... and that was back when the stage was level with the ground (before they did all that "riverfront work").

DAUGHTRY is the only reason I went this year... the only thing that would make me drive downtown, sit in the scorching heat, and pay $20 for a bottle of water (slight exageration).

It was totally worth it.

I for one LOVED it and thought they TOTALLY ROCKED CHATTANOOGA.

I'm sorry that not everyone had the experience I did.

Me and my wife were two of the unfortunate fans that had to sit very, VERY, far away from the stage, but the sound was great!!! I think the sound guys geared up for the large crowd and the closer you were to the stage, the harder it was to make out the music. BUT if you were there as a Chris fan, you knew all of the words anyway. As for the Pearl Jam cover, GREAT JOB!! That has been a favorite song of ours for a LONG time and I have heard it done numerous times by a slew of other artists, and NO ONE has been able to send the chills down my spine from that song, other than Pearl Jam, than Chris. I really hope that he will be back here (Chattanooga, TN) or close VERY soon. We really didn't get to know Chris until he was on AI, but we learned as much about him and Absent Element as we could. I truly believe that there is no other artist out there that has the gift that He does and if he only knew the number of people that he ministers too on a daily basis, then I am sure he is very satisfied with his work. Thank You guys for a great time.

Chris Daughtry Is Powerful Showman
by Jay Mouton
posted June 10, 2007

Well, it’s the second night of Riverbend 2007, and I’m already checking with the fans to find out information about the various artists I’ve had a chance to hear. My usual night starts off about 6 p.m., takes me through the evening, and allows me to listen to a number of acts during an evening — I enjoy listening to the music. I like to share what I find with others, and that’s the primary reason I try to concentrate on the positive aspects of the acts that I hear.

A few years ago I caught an up-and-coming act, Pat Green, and I mentioned that, from the music I’d heard, he seemed to have had a “bad night.” Well, I got an boatload of mail from fans that, basically, told me I was full of, well, you can insert your favorite cuss word and that’ll suffice. As irony would have it, none of the individuals that bothered to write to me, had caught that particular show.

I learned several things about fans, music, and reviews that night. I learned that fans often defend their idols even when the idols let them down. I learned, as I’ve oft quoted Dizzy Gillespie, if it sounds good (to the fans) — it is good! And, last, I learned that if I simply don’t care for an artist, I don’t review them — in other words, as my mother used to tell me, if I don’t have anything good to say — don’t say anything at all! Okay, one for good, old Mom.

While I won’t dwell on negatives, I will tell you that other than the Riverbend promotional info, and a quick glance at Chris Daughtry’s website, I knew nothing at all about the man (or his band). I didn’t know that he had been on American Idol (I’m not anti-Idol, I simply have never had an interest in the show), I didn’t know that he had a double-platinum CD in 2006, and I didn’t know he was a star. Well, I learned a good deal at his show tonight.

It’s a misconception of many musicians that grind their respective hearts out in nightclubs all across the USA that stars being made by the media is a new thing — it isn’t, and to my knowledge, it never has been a new thing. In fact, I’ve read publicity on musical acts as far back as Franz Liszt. Publicity is simply how the word gets out, and virtually every band I’ve ever been in used various ways to “get” their names out there. Mick Jagger was quoted, as saying there was no such thing as “bad publicity.” When The Beatles first released a record (a vinyl disk, from days of yore) in the USA (on Swan records) it never made it into the Top 40. It took nearly another year, and over $50,000 in publicity from Capital Records (an unheard of amount in 1964) to create and launch The Beatles — the rest is musical history. Nobody knows for sure if The Beatles would have become the phenomenon they were had they not been, slightly, manufactured with the greenback. Still not convinced? Check out The Beatles career in England before they became overnight sensations there (their manager, Brian Epstein, was thought to have bought most of the copies of The Beatles earliest records in order to launch that ship.

What is he driving at?

Chris Daughtry’s rise on the American music scene is what I’m driving at. I’ve heard people knocking so many of the acts that air on Daughtry’s launching pad — American Idol. My point is — why? If somebody is entertaining enough to keep millions of Americans watching a television show month after month, and year after year — they must be, by default, well, entertainers.

I’m not claiming that every artist that lasts nine weeks on American Idol is the caliber of your average Mozart (can I use the word “average” in the same sentence with Mozart?), but there must be something that sustains the ears of the masses. Remember Abraham Lincoln’s theory that you “can’t fool all of the people, all of the time.” Enough said.

Chris Daughtry’s Riverbend debut impressed me in the simple fact that he seemed to exude the confidence that most of the biggest musical artists I’ve ever seen have had to do. It’s important to remember that Daughtry is not just a guitar player and a singer — he’s an entertainer! As far as I’m concerned he did a heck of a job entertaining the many thousands that showed up to hear his music, and watch his show. His band possessed power and showmanship, Daughtry’s songs were of a level that I found fairly impressive, to say the least. I’ll admit that I really liked his song, “Over You.” Frankly, my friends, it’s a darn good song. That said, I suggest that everybody that enjoys Rock & Roll check this man out — I believe you may just thank me.

Everyone is griping about them not playing long enough, the night before with Blake Shelton and Craig Morgan they only played a 40 min. set a piece, every show I've been to @ Riverbend has only been a 40 min. set!

As far as the standing issue I don't agree with that either I could get into the concerts @ riverbend ALOT more if we could stand...

I'm just grateful that we was Fortunate enough to have him come play for us, he is the only other act that has drew in the biggest crowd like that, Alabama was the other one. So I'm not complaining one bit except for the heat, lol!

I hope they come back really SOON b/c I'm already having Daughtry withdrawls!

We loved the show wish we could have got closer and what was with all the people in there sits I could have never sit threw that show. Wish we could have been as close as the show in Nashville but it was damn good cant wait to see you guys again hopeful with Nickelback??? Third times a charm maybe it will be my time to meet yall up close We love u Guys keep Rocking!!!

My friend and I drove 5 hrs from Memphis to see Daughtry Saturday night. They were awesome (as always) but the set up and rules were INSANE....We went in early to "reserve" our seats got our chairs all set up ONLY to find that you weren't able to stand up in that section!!!! WTF>>>>>>weren't we at a concert. If they would have posted this we would have NEVER even bothered setting up seats. NOWHERE on the website nor the flyers for the event say there is a "no standing zone". I think this is TRULY RIDICULOUS!! We literally weren't ALLOWED to stand up and cheer for him. The crowd was great and all but I truly feel that the distance between him and the crowd played a HUGE factor in how short his show was. This was our 4th time to see him and he has ALWAYS played at least an hour and alot of times an hour and a half. They love to interact with the crowd and I think the set up didn't all for this at all. The quote that was my favorite was by the "Supervisor"/VOLUNTEER rent a cop that said....Look you can hear him great....see him on the screen....Why do you need to stand up? Um....let's see. I can hear him great in my car listening to the CD and can watch him on tv just as well as I did on the screen. The other thing is for those of us who had NO IDEA where we reserved seats we couldn't stand........WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE TWO FENCES TOTALLY BLOCKING THE VIEW......PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME....I enjoyed the show via the screen and speakers...THE CROWD AROUND US WAS AWESOME..BUT I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THE TOWN FOR ANOTHER SHOW...I work in a very public field ( im a nurse in labor and delivery) and I can promise you I have told EVERYONE i come in contact with about how horrible the set up is there. THANKS CHRIS AND THE GUYS AND ALL THE AWESOME FANS WE MET FOR AT LEAST BEING A HIGHLIGHT IN OUR BAD TRIP!!!

The concert was unbelievable. You guys are awesome.

I thought the Riverbend show was awesome. Chris did a great job getting everyone involved and sounded just as great if not better than he does on TV or CD or radio. I screamed the whole time, my throat hurt. I was just a little upset that it didn't last longer but I will take what I can get b/c I could listen to these guys for hours on end. With these guys tour schedule I am just so very thankful that they came here and did what they did. I just enjoy and appreciate you guys and your music so much!!! Hope you guys have a GREAT time in England and enjoy some much needed time off.

Thanx Joey for coming out and taking some pics and meeting some of us!!!!

Hope to see you back in Chattanooga very soon!!!!

I am a huge Chris fan, however I was very disapointed with his appearance in Chattanooga Tennessee, at the Riverbend festival. The show was only 40 minutes and the sound guys had the band over powering Chris's voice so you could hardly understand what he was saying. We had GREAT seats and everyone kept asking what is he saying we can't understand him and when he sang if you did not know the words to his song then you were totally lost. Chris you are above and beyond doing someone else's songs, you do not need to do pearl jam songs or anyone else's songs. I have been to many concerts at arena's, civic center's etc and have attended Riverbend every year since living in Chattanooga and I was amazed at how short this show was and disapointed in the way the sound was handled. I am still a huge fan but maybe the next time I see him it will be a real concert and the sound will be handled better. As Chris said in Chattanooga, That's all I have to say

This was my first show... and I am soooo much more addicted to DAUGHTRY than before... it's scary! LOL

I had the BEST time! I met some really great DO members and made some new friends too!

I am so hoarse today and my throat aches- but it was worth it- soooo worth it.

MY ears are still ringing- but that is ok- they are ringing to DAUGHTRY after all!

Had my beads on - till they turned my neck green at least- oooops!

I spent the day recalling and recovering... it was just soooooo AWESOME!

The guys put on a GREAT show and Chattanooga will never be the same!

I hope they will come back again soon! I am going to have to start traveling more I guess.

THANK YOU AGAIN AMANDA for the amazing 4th row seat! YOU ARE THE BEST!

I didn't win the lottery with that ticket btw but there is always next time!

I got some amazing pics so I will have to go see how to post them here.

Don't tell my family- but it was my BEST night ever... LOL LOL LOL

The day was HOT so freaking hot... but the NIGHT was even HOTTER cuz DAUGHTRY ROCKED THE HELLOUTTA CHATTANOOGA TENNESSEE!!!!!

Just like we knew they would!

The concert was awesome, we were in row D of the star seating and they were great seats. I was blown away at how well he performs, he really got the crowd into it. I have never been to a concert like it, it was awesome.

My cousin and I had on our beads last night, didn't see many others though.

My best friend from Denver met me in Nashville on Thursday night and we came down for the Daughtry show. I came from St. Louis. It was a great show! My first time seeing him and her second. I was very impressed and will be going back again to see him!

Hope everybody had a great time!

Well just about every hour since the concert was over my sister just keeps saying that was awesome so i think it is official it was awesome. The interaction from Chris with the crowd was amazing We had 4th row star seating and they were great seats we were able to get to shake Joeys's hand after and get a pic or two as he ran by. unfortunately none of the others came out but that is ok none the less the show was amazing i just wish JP could have been there it just wasnt the same without him bouncing all over the stage if i had to sum up one word for the performance i would say HOTNESS!

I saw the show from a boat on the Tennessee river and it was awesome. We got to see Chris and the band arrive by boat and he was waving to everyone! Their tour bus was parked across the river from the stage and no fans were allowed over there. Security was very tight. The show itself was awesome! Chris did an amazing job getting the crowd involved and he didn't forget about his fans in the boats either. I saw Chirs on the American Idol tour last year in Nashville and he was the best of all of them. Last night proved that he deserves all of his success and praise. He is the MAN!!! LOVED THE SHOW!! Please come back to Chatt-town.

The show was just, freakin awsome! Unbelievable! I had a great time! The best concert I have ever been too, and seen! Seeing Daughtry was part of my anniversary gift from my husband, and I have to say, it couldn't have been a better way to celebrate! The people we sat beside, we're cool as hell too! The lighting, the sound, everything was perfect! To the guys, I know you read it, and hear it over and over, but damn, you guys really rocked hard last night! It was awsome! You really can get your fans all ralled up too! It was great to see you guys and I really hope ya'll come by Chattanooga again, and again, and again! lol Good luck on upcoming concerts, and rock'em hard! I'll be waiting on ya'll to return, until then, stay safe!

OMFG that was my first Daughtry show and it def. will NOT be my last, I told my sister-n-law- Chris has a new "stalker" now I'll be following them around the East Coast, lol.

He really was awesome though and I don't have a voice this morning from screaming so much.

There was two girls standing behind us with greenbeads on but didn't get the cahnce to say HI, we was sitting at the side walk in the red Dale Jr. chairs ;0).

Wow, I have to say I was blown away. We have seen many many Riverbend shows, and this was the best. Vocals were wonderful. I can not wait for Daughtry to come back this way so we can see another concert. Please come back to Chattanooga. Ya'll did such a great job.

Once again, the show was AWESOME. I loved every minute, THANKS! I do have one question, and have searched for an answer EVERYWHERE...Where was Josh Paul? I was TOTALLY devastated to miss my mohawk man and a bass solo in "There & Back Again". How about a little explaination????? ROCK ON!
