Reviews for this Calendar date

Let me first start off by saying, no I did not attend this show. But I do have dealings with the Gwinnett Arena. My husband and I rented a suite there for the Journey, Styx, and REO tour years ago. We paid over $1500 for that suite. It included twelve tickets and a suite backstage or so we thought. The suite was backstage BUT we was not allowed to walk out of our suite through the double doors that led to backstage. Anyway, the tickets we were promised was not 15 feet from the stage either. We had tickets not even on the floor. Can you imagine what me and my 10 girlfriends did!? We all had a conference call to the Arena, with 4 of them being on the original call I made to book the suite. They all told them what we were promised. SO they did COMP us some tickets on the floor, about 14 rows from front. Well, I will have to say I LOVED the fact that Daughtry played smaller venues this year but if the only show in Georgia is at the Gwinnett Arena, I will go to another state before I go to that place. The Arena employees are the rudest people around that I have ever met. They show NO southern hospitality at all. I have not been back to the place since then and don't plan on going. Kevin Cronin made a comment that we really know how to build an Arena here during the concert. Yes we may, but we don't know what employees to put in there! Anyway, Gwinnett Arena is not on my list of places to go, so I will see you maybe in another state or a smaller venue if you guys do that again next year. The Perry Fair would be great again! Smiling

"Love isnt finding someone you can live with, its finding someone you cant live without."

Daughtry really brought it to the stage, yeah Chris was getting over his "Ellen" sickness but his performance was a lot better than the other three acts.

This was our first Daughtry concert. My son is 10 years old and he loved it. He was singing along as was I. I have been to a lot of concerts both rock and country, and I must say Chris sounded awesome. This was the best ever. We can not wait to see Daughtry again. KEEP ROCKING, from another TRUE FAN.

This was my second show. After seeing you up close and personal at the tabernacle in the private show/blender session (3/31/07) i say that nothing could replace the quality of a show of only 250 attendees and no security up your behind... Smiling

That said, the gwinett arena is a large venue and chris and the guys gave us a great show. Well done. And in no way is it their fault that some were hassled by the rude security people. I too was hassled a time or two...but is that the band's fault? I think not.

Great show guys. Will see you again soon!

Man I also was In the front row and I thought that he was awesome... I don't know what you are thinking but I think that you need to get your ears looked at by a DOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for being a fan you are realy a BAD one !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had front row tickets and Back stage I must say that this was the Best Show that I have ever seen He got the crowed in to it and threw water on us in true Rocker Form. I know that I will never get the chance to see him like that again but I have my Pictures and I will never for get cant waite to see him again

This was my first Daughtry concert and I must say, HE ROCKED!!! I thought the sound was a little off and hated not to see him on the big screens, but all in all he put on a great show. I wasn't impressed at all with the other acts, but I don't know their music... I just went to see Daughtry and will try to see him again, soon.

My question is--after opening for Bon Jovi in Vegas is there a possiblity that he will tour with them in Jan? NOW THAT would be a KICK A** concert!!!

See you on the road...

Please refrain from posting further on this thread if it is to argue. One thing everyone here agrees on is that they are fans of Daughtry. Let's not argue.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, when one user calls others "worthless", etc, it has gone too far.

We are sorry if anyone was disappointed with their show experience. Please remember, the ticket you purchase guarantees you a show. If you don't meet the band or get an autograph and you are disappointed, just think about this: there are people who haven't even seen the band live at all yet! Remember, everything is relative. Smiling

Daughtry will be around for a long time to come. You never know when your chance will come to meet, greet, photo or get get an autograph with the guys.

As always, we believe Daughtry fans are the best. I hope we can't be proved wrong!

My friend and I went to the show here in Atlanta Saturday night and we had the best time! I had seen Chris before on the Idols tour but was blown away by his performance! I am reading here that he was sick, I would have never known. We had such a great time, we are trying to go see him in Chattanooga Saturday night! He is an amazing talent! I knew he would go far! I took some pics as we were on the floor, I will try to get those up soon.

Nothing against Chris but I will say Star 94 puts on a rather boring show. They did not have any activities going on between the set breaks except some cheesy clowns! Star 94 could have done better.

Over all, LOVED it and can't wait to see him again!!! You rock Daughtry!!!!!

Georgia Jenn

This was my first DAUGHTRY concert and I thought he was great, we enjoyed the entire concert. From where I sat, I did not notice any vocal issues, but do wish we could have seen him on the screens. I took my daughter who also though he was spectacular, she is 6 and totally in love. We had a blast and won't soon forget our night. I don't have the same issues with the venue, it's been years since I have been a concert goer and I was pleased that I felt safe and secure with my little one! We did buy bottled drinks, but no one took our caps from us or bothered us at all.

I would love the chance to meet Chris, too, but what we all must realize is that things ARE going to change for Chris. Whether any of us(including Chris) like it or not, we have helped catapult him into SUPER Stardom very quickly!! He has stated that he will always be grateful and mentions us in each interview. But he also asked us in his blogs to understand that there would come a time when the meet and greets would be harder and might not happen. I think a larger venue like this is just one of those times where it's better to be safe than sorry. He might also have to be on vocal rest to be able to sing almost every day. What if he wasn't even really on that bus and was inside the building somewhere, or out checking out the town? I think not fully knowing the situation, that no one should really criticize what he is doing. It's not fair to him or the people reading these reviews that might form an opinion based on what is said. I AM a loyal fan from the beginning and wouldn't even consider writing negative reviews on this website, EVER! People are just looking for negative "press" to try and counteract his success and we all know it. Comes with the territory. Don't feed them, please!

It's clear we all had different experiences! I had one of the best nights ever!

Forever a fan!

Just wanted you to know that there was only a few fans around after the show. 4 to be exact. No mob here! Earlier in the day, as I stated, 2 fans, far from the mob. I have spent hours in cars, planes, and lines waiting to see these shows. Not to mention the countless hours after the shows and the monies involved to get us there. And who has the correct, definitive answer on what exactly a true fan is? Im sure you consider you self a true fan, as do I. But if the opportunity arises that I might, JUST MIGHT, get his picture and autograph, Im going be there. Am I "mad" that he didnt jump off his bus immediatley to come out to meet us, NO! Did I expect him to come out and meet us, NO! But Im willing to take those chances for the UNEXPECTED chance of meeting him. YES!!! and I will do it at every show I attend of his.

I thought he was amazing as well. I was pretty close and was fortunate enough to be on the 6th row. I could see him really well and and it looked like he was trying hard to take care of his throat during his performance. I was a little disappointed that he did not do an encore, but I realize that it may have been Star 94 that limited that. KEEP IT UP CHRIS, WE LOVE YOU AND AS ALWAYS YOU WERE AMAZING AND SUPER HOT! FEEL BETTER SOON!!!

Just for my own curiosity, which show(s) have you been to?

Because Chris could have been sleeping on the bus and not outside throwing around a football, he is now a different person? No, I don't believe so. Why would you even think of such a thing? It literally blows my mind how people expect Chris to come out whenever someone might be outside of the bus. Chris does have a life. Yes, of course he signed up for this. He loves meeting his fans. He praises us ALL THE TIME. I just find it a bit ridiculous that people assume that he has changed and is not the same person just because he won't come out and meet fans when they want him to.

By the way, I mentioned mobbing because Chris and the guys are moving on from the small clubs and onto the bigger venues. The Gwinnett Center holds 13,000 people. That is far from a small club. Chris has explained in earlier video blogs that when this happens, he will not be able to come out and meet with everyone like he wants to.

I am from Atlanta and have attended MANY events at the Gwinnett Center. Unfortunately, Chris and The Band were given with what they were dealt with. Although Daughtry had another wonderful performance...I thought it was quite sad that the big screens did not show them to their fans that had less than perfect seats. I was fortunate to have good seats, but I feel bad to all the other fans that didn't. Also, Daughtry is a wonderful band. They sing and make music that touches our hearts. With that stated, we never have the right to "stalk them". If we get to meet them, great! If not, then we are blessed to hear them and see them at concerts and on tv....in other words, be happy that Daughtry exists and that they have touched your lives and quit whining about not meeting them or being asked to move away from their tour buses. They are people, first and foremost, and are entitled to have some time to theirselves. Rock on Daughtry - you are the BEST!!!!

Trish

I just read your post and feel that some of it was directed at me, maybe not, but Im gonna say this anyway!!!! At Atlanta when I was by the busses, it was 2 in the afternoon. NO ONE WAS THERE!!!!. It was myself and my friend. Obviously Im not some fan who is going to mob him, or follow his bus down the road, or chase the airport van to the airport for him to get out of town. I am married with a child, not some 16 year old.
I believe that everyone on this site is a fan, and like you, has been a fan from day one. From the shows that I have been to, there was not a mob around as you are insinuating. In Jacksonville for example, (only a 700 person venue) as we stood in line for 10 hours, there was 7 of us there, again, far from the mob you speak of.
However, he is not the Chris that first started out. Outside the bus throwing a football to his buddies, saying hi as he gets of the bus, etc.
I would hope that when he signed this record deal, and put this record out that he knew what he was getting himself into.

"be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get it all, and then some you dont want" and folks thats exactly what he has done. He has gotten what he wished for. A huge record and a great fan base.

I did not go to this show but I just want to say something. People should stop being upset that they don't get to meet Chris...especially now that the band is performing in bigger venues. It was more probable for him to come out and meet fans when they are doing small venues; but if that were to happen at one of these big events, Chris would literally be mobbed. The band is in huge demand right now and Chris is only one human being. I'm sure he wants to meet everyone he can, but he also has to look after himself first. He is very grateful for us and just because he doesn't come out doesn't mean he is a different person or doesn't appreciate us! I know I would not want to be mobbed by hundreds of people pushing, yelling and doing anything they can to get near me or touch me. C'mon. Chris' job is to perform shows and that's it. If you do get to meet Chris, consider that icing on the cake. He does a lot for us by leaving us blogs and thanking us any chance he gets. There's only so much one person can do and you shouldn't be upset that he can't come out and meet with everybody at these bigger events. It's simply impossible to meet everyone. I've been a huge fan since 2005 and have never met the guy. I spend hours upon hours voting for him on the countdowns and he doesn't even know of my existence. But I love him and know he appreciates me. I don't have to question that at all.

This was my first time seeing Daughtry and will not be the last. Chris and his band were amazing. I was not fond of the venue. It was my first and last time at that venue. Staff there SUCKED. Mean people SUCK.

Rock on Chris.

Thegirl.

Where do I begin. TREATED VERY POORLY BY STAFF. First... I drove from from Central Florida to see this show. Thats 8 hours and this being my 3rd show. (Jax, Myrtle Beach, Atl). I had extra tickets to this show because I was able to upgrade to 4th row. Nobody took them. We got to Atl yesterday around 2pm at which time we made our way over to the venue (as I usually do). I was able to walk over to the buses (only Chris's) with no problems, as I had done before. However was told by the crew I wasnt allowed back there. They were nice and talked to me for a little bit, but Chris, AGAIN was no where to be found. We are talking no one around except me and my friend. ALL I WANT IS A PICTURE AND AN AUTOGRAPH!!! Anyhow we went on our way.

Showed back up to the venue around 6pm and I begin to try to sell my 2 extra tickets. As I was standing on the sidewalk, this HUGE FAT woman, who obviously has let her job as "event staff" go to her head, came over to me in a very confrontational way. "can I help you?" She asked, so me being me replied "no" (didnt think I needed help selling tickets) ( heres your sign fat lady) She then went on to ask what was I doing, etc, so I told her I had upgraded my tickets and was trying to sell these for face value or less, etc. Oh she wasnt havent it, told me that I couldnt sell my tickets...???? I must leave the property etc. To make this part of my story short, I gave, YES GAVE my tickets to the radio station to upgrade someone elses seat. DAMN..

Ok so we get inside and I go to buy a soda. A 20oz plastic bottle to be exact. She takes the lid off and throws it away. I asked for it back, so that I dont spill my drink during the show, nope cant have it back, house rules. WTF????

So we go sit down. Excellent seats. I am PUMPED. The 3 opening acts were awful. It was a long 3 hours before Chris got there. During Dashboard Confessionals, I walked from my seat in 3rd row center isle towards the stage. Got to the railing and held my camera up to take a picture of Dashboard. This "event staff" guy shoves his hand in my face covering my camera and tells me to go to my seat. I TRIED to explain just taking a photo, then sitting back down, nope he didnt want to hear that either. The whole time this took place, I could have already taken my picture and walked back.... NOPE!!!

Finally Chris got on. YEAH. as always his shows are awesome. Was this his best one I've seen, no. But its still Chris. You could tell he was still getting over the "sickness". After the show, as always, we hung out outside talking to some other friends who had drove hours for this show too. After the crowds left, we walked back by the buses, trying to "bump" into Chris. No sign of him so we kept walking. We never stopped as we walked by. Well guess who was on the hill on the other side of the buses? that damn "event staff" guy and his sidekick. He asked how we got back there, which we all replied "walked", again we were still walking. Wouldnt you know it, he had some lady "event staff" in her car follow us. We were almost back to the cars and she pulls up to us and tells us that she was told to follow us, and make sure we went to our cars. Now mind you, there were still alot of people around, but we were the ones being "harassed".

TO ALL YOU FANS OUT THERE, NEVER GO TO A SHOW AT THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!. And I hope RCA Karen sees this and advises the band how poorly his fans were treated. Also, I wish Chris would get back to the way he was, signing autographs, taking pictures with everyone. You have got to take care of us die hard fans who take care of you. We drive everywhere to see you. Please show more appreciation for us!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to say after seeing you guys only in small clubs before last night, I wasn't too optimistic I would go away from the big arena show feeling as pumped. However, at the end of the night, I walked away with that same Daughtry high I have always gotten before. Chris, you have mastered the ability to make even a big show seem intimate. And once again you did a show not feeling your best, and once again your performance was flawless. Bravo!

Guys, I am sure there are lots of reasons you have chosen to be musicians. And, while I'm not really sure where touching people's lives falls on that list, or if it even makes the list, you all have touched mine. I have to laugh at myself, this time a year ago you might have caught me driving down the road listening to talk radio (gee that's embarrassing to admit), this year the music in my car is so loud, nobody can "talk" over it. Smiling Not only do I thank you for that, my kids are forever in your debt. Smiling

Take care and be safe. I hope I get to see you again at least one more time this year. Oh yeah, and tell Kevin I said "thanks for trying".

Great performance Chris and his band put on last night. His cover of "Black" was great!!! Somehow I lucked out and got 5th row from stage tix for $45 each. Forgot the camera at home though...

Augastana really suprised me at how good they sounded. Could have done without Dashboard and wasn't impressed with them at all. Didn't get there in time for McPhee but really wanted to see the headliner.

A headliner he was...

Curious about the tix those of you have posted for sale. If not, will have to go through the ticketmaster.

Was in Tampa the end of April but he was playing too early in the day to see him. Sad

Not this time though...
