I'm a 50 year old rocker and retired Marine and I'm hoping CD can help my family fill a void. First of all I think CD is an amazing artist and I will focus on his song 'Home'. I live in a small military town in NC and last year we lost a young man to the war. With the utmost respect towards him, his family and all those hurt by human losses from the war I will tell the story. Chris (same first name) Honaker was born on a military base to a Marine dad and was a friend of my daughter's and went to the Community Center my wife manages. He was a high spirited kid with a good sense of humor and well-liked by many good friends. Chris was told many times (with Love) not to skateboard in the community center. Chris joined the Army and deployed to Afghanistan with a task force and gave the ultimate sacrifice on July 5, 2007, at age 23, when he came under enemy fire.
I listen to the song Home almost everyday because I feel as if it is a tribute to Chris Honaker because the lyrics parrallel Chris Honaker's journey.
These are my opinions on the parellels:
I can imagine Chris staring out into the night in Afghanistan, trying to hide the pain.
Going to a place where Love and feeling good don't ever cost a thing (home)
I'm going home back to the place where I belong and where your love has always been enough for me
I'm not running from No, I think you got me all wrong I don't regret this life you chose for me
But these places and these faces are getting old to me So I'm going home

Be careful what you wish for you might just get it all

I wish CD could hear this story and keep Chris Honaker in his thoughts when he sings 'Home" because every time I hear it (daily) I give heartfelt respect to Chris Honaker and thank him for that sacrifice and think of his family and my family missing him.
It is coming up on a year since Chris passed and he is still very much alive in our hearts and the song 'Home' has been instrumental on keeping good memories in the forefront.

Wow did anyone see the top 20 count down this last week???? they said we checked out daughtrys website and saw that they think that they are the only group to have 3 number ones. And then they go on to say that there are like 10 other people. Well I was a little upset. that they would do that on tv Jees what happened to if you dont have anything nice to say don't say anything??I still love you guys and you will all was be my number one!!!
