I just sent an email to a couple of venues at which I am hoping to get tickets for Daughtry. I don't know if it will do a bit of good. Maybe others of you might want to do the same. Here's what I said. I encourage you to express how you feel about this in your own words though. If they keep getting the exact same message they may not listen. Here's what I said:
I just wanted to make you aware of something in case you didn't know.
Venues that don't have a limit on the number of tickets being sold to
one person for Daughtry are selling out in a matter of minutes. I
encourage you to go online to daughtryofficial.com/news/tour-dates and
read some of the blog entries. Scalpers are gobbling these up and
selling them for 4 times face value. I would hope you would be against
these practices. Hopefully people will spend more money in your club on
food and drinks if they don't have to pay $100 a piece for tickets.
Everybody on the daughtry site agrees spending that much on a Daughtry
ticket would be okay if it was going to the band or even you guys. I
am writing to encourage you to set a policy like Floyd's in Tallahassee
did. I have included the verbage they used.
Because of Daughtry, so many new people have been exposed to your
venues. Please, stand up for your new patrons. Don't let these
scumbags cause people to have a negative experience trying to buy
tickets for your clubs.
It also seems there are issues with Ticketmaster. You may want to check
into those problems too if they represent your venue.
If you have read this far, thank you so much. You have the power to
prevent this. I hope you will chose to do it.
Here's What Floyds Said:
Floyds is doing our part to try to prohibit ticket scalping.
Tickets for this event will only be sold online and a ticket
limit of 4 per person is allowed. We only use will-call list
at door, so only the person with the credit card number
used to purchase tickets will be allowed in with their guests
that they may have purchased tickets for.... so please make
sure everyone in your party arrives together at the door.
Tickets will not be available for pickup prior to the door
opening. If you purchase tickets online, just show up at
door when doors open and bring the credit card used
to purchase tickets along with your photo ID card to gain
entry to the show. Daughtry is performing for the fans
and we are trying to limit ticket sales so the fans get in
for the $15 ticket price. Be prepared to enter the venue
at the time you show up for will-call, we will not issue
tickets so you can come back later.
Thanks again for your consideration.

I sent an email to the man in charge of production for concerts at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, and dont expect to hear anything today as it is Sunday
Basically I asked what the Paradise's policy was as far as how tickets are sold and scalping and all that
My point was if all the tickets were gone, then everybody that goes to the show (including myself) were the victims of so called "ticket brokers" better known as scalpers
It will be interesting to ask everyone in line how much they got taken for
I almost feel fortunate in the fact that I "only" paid $95.00 instead of the $395 they are asking for an Ebay, for a $20 ticket, not that Chris isnt worth alot more to see, but the price was listed on Ticketmaster as $20 plain and simple.
something is so rotten here

Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it all, and then some you don't want.............
Checking in, once again from Pittsburgh, still disappointed and wondering why a "person" in Texas is selling tickets on EBay to your show in Pittsburgh? That tells me they were able to log on to ticketmaster, I presume, and get tickets and then of course, sell them for a huge profit because that is why they bought them in the first place - there was no intention of coming north to see the show. Something's very wrong here! Your fans are not happy, to say the least! Will there be a solution?
I am extremely happy to say that I will be going to the show and can hardly wait. Although I still wouldn't mind hanging out with Daughtry, either. I'm really excited about seeing the show. I still have more than a month to go, and I'm trying to be patient. It just sucks waiting to see such a powerful band and an amazing singer. I hope the tour is goung well, and Jeremy we're gonna miss ya. Take care.

Can the band please put something on this web page that explains what the deal is with these tickets only going to scalpers? Was this their decision or ticketmaster or what? I think you owe it to your fans.....
Daughtry doesn't have control over the ticket sales or how it's done. Each club / venue is responsible for it's own ticket sales. Some choose to go through ticketmasters and some clubs choose to sale sale the tickets themselves. Daughtry cares about their fans and wants everyone to come to the concerts. The want to do small venues first so that the atmosphere will be more intimate for the fans before they have to go to large venues. I totally understand why they are doing it that way and because it's the band's decision, I totally respect them for that because it is all about the fans. I want to see them too but if i can't get tickets because of the scalpers, then i know I will get to see them when it's easier to get tickets. I know it's not the band's fault and there isn't anything they can do about it. If ticketmasters or the clubs can't limit the amount of tickets each person buys, then a scalper can buy as many as he wants. The reason tickets sale out in minutes is because someone has been allowed to buy hundreds at a time. The only way to stop the scalpers is to limit each person or account to 2-4 tickets. But it's up to ticketmasters or any other company selling tickets to come up with a way to do this. If it was up to Daughtry, the scalpers would not be getting these tickets.
I have been online at some point all weekend. I tried to get tickets to a show willing to drive a distance and when transferred to ticket master after checking which concerts were available couldn't get anything to pull up whats up with that?? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Want and need tickets!! Don't know if somrthing is wrong or all sold out and just doesn't say that.

Tickets on sale at noon on Saturday, by 12:01 sold out completely. Now, they are getting more than $150 for $20 tickets on ebay. this sucks. Chris, you gotta play bigger venues to make sure all your fans get tickets...man, this sucks so bad!!!
Jan 29, 2007 - 10:12 AM - Anonymous
I tried to buy tickets on Friday at a Ticketmaster retail location and they could not get it to work. Then I came back to work and tried online, it would not work. Did the same things twice on Saturday. Then when I came to work this morning I find out the show (CIncinnati) is SOLD OUT! I am very very upset. I have been waiting for months to see you guys now I am not going to be able to go. You definately need to play larger venues for all of the fans to at least have a chance to get tickets. Honestly, I am pretty upset about this and don't know if I am going to make an effort to try to get tickets for another show or not! This was very discouraging.
If you've watched Chris' video blog, you would have heard him say that the reason he is doing small venues at first is so it will be more up close and personal and more intimate for the fans. This will be the only time he is able to do this. It's only 3 months. Those of us that can't get tickets to the small venues will be able to see him in bigger venues later. He's not going anywhere anytime soon. He will be rocking for years to come. Give Chris a break and let him enjoy these next few months doing concerts in the small venues. He basically became a super rock star overnight. He needs to ease his way into it. He has a family to think about too. Just be patient, you will get to see Chris in concert soon.
Memphis has not sold out yet. I think they are limiting tickets so scalpers can't get them. If you can make it to memphis, go to http://www.newbysmemphis.com/ and purchase your tickets now.

HI everyone. I personally am just as disappointed as all of you that the Boston show sold out it about 2 minutes. I drove the a ticketmaster outlet two hours north of my house and about 4 hours north of Boston to get tickets. I was the ONLY person there. Think how excited I was, I thought I was guaranteed to get my tickets.. My friendly person at the counter tried for tickets at precisely 12:00 and there was nothing available.
Please remember the BAND has NO control over ticket masters practices. The woman at the desk told me that she has never seen that happen in the 8 years she has worked there. She called "headquarters" and they told her that 653 tickets were available and 268 of them were sold in 30 seconds.
I personally will not buy tickets from a scapler, as much as I LOVE the band, none of that extra money goes in their pocket....
Don't take it out on the guys... its not their fault. They will be doing bigger venues, as some point...
As much as would have loved to have been at one of these more intimate shows I will wait... it will be worth it.
To the guys... CONGRATS on your success... looking forward to seeing you some day...soon I hope!!!!!!
To all the fans... just keep your fingers crossed on getting the VIP package!!

Daughtry needs to be performing at larger venues!!! I didn't find out that the band would be in Seattle until the show was already sold out. Its obvious that more people want to see the show and to only have one show in Seattle seems to be a bit short sighted. I hope they come back soon, given the history of Seattle and its Rock and Roll roots, and book more than just one show at a small venue.
