Chris' Birthday - Donation to ONE
As many of you have, I have been trying to think what would be a good birthday present for Chris. But what can you give to Chris that hundreds of others won't and that will be really special to him?
When I thought about Christmas and how so many people do not have all that we have, I realized that was the answer.
Since the ONE organization means so much to Chris, consider making a donation to One as a birthday present for Chris. ONE emailed me that they do not have a way of donating on someone's behalf. But if you will email me with the amount of your donation and your name (or no name if you prefer), I will send a birthday card to Chris' addresses (the one given on DO and another that was posted) that a donation of $--- was made to One in his name on behalf of Daughtry Official and mrdaughtry.com who started this effort.

I hooked up with my donation to ONE at the start of Daughtrys touring when they did the small shows...Chris had supporters from ONE pass out cards to fans in line telling us about the organization. So i went to the website and saw what it was and how i could help, even in small amounts. I started a monthly donation of $5. every month i feel a part of something that i know has done alot of good in the world and it just makes you more proud to be a part of Chris's fan base and you just keep on trying to do any good you can big or small....cause it all starts with ONE.

Thanks to all who were able to contribute..... what an awesome idea and gift. It's always a question of what to give someone who's traveling all over, and can't take all that much on a bus. A touching gesture is always a good idea, and God knows the charities need it. Unfortunately this hit me at a bad time financially between Christmas and paying for a semester of school...... but I plan on making a donation when I can.

well I have checked the ONE site to see what it is all about and I think it is absolutely awesome what they are doing, so I signed up to volunteer, and there is really nothing going on much in NC to help with this cause so once I get all the info. It is so nice to see so many people are continuing to donate to ONE. $2008 was the amount collected at the time the e-mail was sent to RCA Karen indicating that a donation was made to ONE o/b/o Chris' birthday. I am sure Chris will be pleased with all the donations ONE is receiving from his fans. Perhaps some couldn't give before Christmas and are able to do so now. Linda, Val and Jill were gracious enough to organize this effort and tally up the donations to present to Chris on his birthday via RCA Karen. They can not be expected to continue adding up any additional donations. I am sure Chris will know through them or RCA Karen that additional people have contributed to ONE as well.
He will appreciate everyone's effort to participate even those who supported the idea, but were not financially able to give.
DAUGHTRY fans are the best!
Two additional contributions were made in time to include their names on the card, bringing the total to $2068. Please continue to donate to ONE and keep this thread going. I just wanted to take a moment to thank God for giving us Chris Daughtry! He is an absolutely miracuously amazing MAN! He's not god and never tries to act like he is, but he had definitely been sent to us by God!
I also want to thank Chris for showing us how to live as a Godly Man! He met and married a Beautiful Woman, through and through, named Deanna who unselfishy shares her husband, lover and best friend with us. She also has two wonderful children whom he now calls his own and gives them all the love he possibly can! Therefore, he is a light to the world. Shining by love and example, that he lives his life through Christ and it doesn't matter how you came to be a family ~ to live and love as ONE!
Thank again, for all y'all do for us! I hope and pray that you have a very blessed birthday and continue to live your life for Christ and your family and are able to spend more time with them this year!

I think Chris is going to be so touched that collectively his fans donated $2008 to ONE for his birthday present. It is an odd amount but it must be a sign of good things to come in 2008.
Wonder what Bono would have to say about this?! First Chris' ONE t-shirt sold for the most $ and now his fans have collectively donated over $2000 to ONE for Chris' birthday. He would probably say the same thing about Chris' t-shirt selling for the most money, "f*cking amazing!"

In honor of Chris' birthday - the incredible ride he allowed us to join him on, his good heart, his faith, and his love for his family - $2008 was donated to the organization ONE to help alleviate world hunger and AIDs. Two fansites worked together – DaughtryOfficial and MrDaughtry.com.
Predictive number - $2008 means an even better year next year.
Much gratitude to all who gave to help others. Daughtry fans are the greatest!! The list of donors was sent to RCAKaren to give to Chris and a birthday card listing donors' names will also be sent.
