Okay, Rainbow Butt Monkeys aside (loved that), this interview just underscores all that is Chris: humble, honest, ethical and smart. Saying that he and his wife are closer than ever may sound strange to some but trust me, there is ALOT of truth to that. On the surface, separation bringing people closer sounds counterintuitive. Separation from my husband is a part of my life and I can honestly say that when the time for separation comes (deployments, training exercises, etc.) the strong marriages are stronger and the weak ones fracture. Reading about Chris' commitment to Deanna is heartwarming. Cheers to them!

First off I can't belive that the EW man thought you were grumpy, thta's weird!Second off,Chris you are so down-to-earth it's not even funny, you are so loving towards your wife and fans anf friends I JUST LOVE YAOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!Yeah it's funny because when my friends are like,"So who's your favorite band?" I'll be like "Daughtry," and they'll say "Oh yeah that guy off of AI5" I'm like "Yeah he's the lead singer, but his name isn't Daughtry it's Chris, and Daughtry is HIS band you know with more than one person," it's funny because everyone, except me,at my school thinks you dropped your first name and is going by Daughtry but I always correct them, becuase Daughtry is the band, not you, you're Chris lol,but in the end they know who you are and the band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YA CHRIS and congrats on all the success Smiling

I wanted to see you at the 930 in DC- after all- I've seen such great bands as Evanescence, Train, POM, Velvet Revolver, AudioSlave, and the Goos- but I did not get an advance notifier and of course, you are sold out! I found a listing on Ebay Express and here is what it said:
"BUY IT NOW $125.00 FOR EACH TICKET

"GENERAL ADMISSION"

I HAVE A TOTAL OF 6 . IF YOU WANT ALL 6 THEN JUST ENTER 6 IN AMOUNT AFTER YOU CICK BUY

THESE WILL SELL FAST....

EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND. AND I HAVE THEM

All I have to say- is WTF? Did you know these a**holes are doing this, and if so, do you approve?
This is total Bulls***- I mean, I am seeing CC at RHL on Tuesday, and I have an extra tic, but I am not being a jerk and selling for 4 times the price!! Isn't there anyway real fans can get tickets without being ROBBED??

Great interview. Funny and depicts the true Chris...unlike some other reporters.

FIRST THING, THIS WEBSITE IS AWESOME. I ALWAYS KNOW THERE WILL BE AN UPDATE ON CHRIS AND THE BAND. DAUGHTRY IS SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO ALL THE TRULY HAPPY MARRIED COUPLES WITH KIDS. YOU GUYS ROCK BUT YOU'RE STILL NORMAL PEOPLE LIKE US KEEPING IT REAL. PLEASE DON'T EVER STOP; BUT TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF TOO. WE, YOUR FANS, WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU!!

For one thing, I really appreciate how this site keeps us informed of everything going on with the band. I check in every day so I'm confident I don't miss a thing!

This interview was awesome! It covered a lot of ground and everything I read just made me love this guy even more. Chris is always Chris -- true to himself, his beliefs, his work ethic, and his moral standards. What a breath of fresh air -- especially for a rock band. Chris is devoted to being the best he can be in every way. No wonder all his fans love him!

That interview was great. I am so glad to hear that you weren't really grumpy like that EW article made you out to be. I just knew that wasn't usually how you would be. Like you said you are only human and anybody can have a bad day and that writer shouldn't have focused on only that. You are a fantastic musician and a very intelligent person. I am pleased to hear that you guys are behaving yourselves on tour. LOL Your wife must be so proud of you. I can really tell that you love your family and missed them. Your fans appreciate your families support so you can be out on the road performing great shows and writing great songs.
Daughtry is a totally awesome band. Congratulations on ALL of your success, you totally deserve it. Good luck and God Bless!!

Your # 1 fan from PA

PS: Love the Rainbow Butt Monkeys!! LOL

This is such a great interview. You're just the cutest thing I've ever seen and I love how real you were with your responses. For instance, the "Rainbow Butt Monkeys", just topped it off for me.. lol I was crackin' up..

great CD. Im a 80's metal guitarist ( retired of coarse) and this takes me home.
Also a native of NC but imprisoned in South Jersey Smiling

Would like to know if Chris did all the backing vocals on the CD. If so, Impressive range bro.

Eveytime I hear an album I like, it seems Josh freese is playing the drums on it. Nice choice, really caught my ear,......
I even liked Kelly Clarksons album with Josh on it.

Would loves to have been in the Studio for this CD watching, and learning, can never learn enough .

Nice work Chris , I like Gone and Breakaway the most I think. maybe going through a heartbreaking and unwanted divorce currently has something to do with it.

anyway, good luck on tour.

Really great interview Chris, not only are you a awesome singer/song writer, you are also an awesome person. You have a beautiful Spirit Chris Daughtry and you will go far in this world. The Band appears to be a pertty awesome group of guys also. You guys are a truly unique individuals. I'm totally exicted that you guys are working on some new songs, can't wait.

Hey Chris!
I really enjoyed reading your interview! You seem, just like what I thought of you when you were on Idol, like a very nice, sweet and grounded guy. People seem to try to focus on the negative cause they think thats a better story, but I'm more interested in someone I feel is a nice and just good person at heart. Someone can be talented, but if they have a s*@tty attitude, it's a big turn off. So, you being as incredibly talented as you are, and be a very cool and regular guy, makes people like you all the more! And, those of us who are your true fans, know that every single person walking this planet has a bad day every now and then or has something that annoys them - So, I thank you for being human and just an all around good guy! LOVE the music and I hope you keep making albums for a LONG time - cause I'll keep buying them!
Best of luck to you and the band - and God Bless!
Hope to see you on the road!

Way to go CD!.....That's why your fans love ya, you are so down to earth, and real....Please keep doing what your doing! MAD PROPS to ya!

Great interview, I love how candid and REAL Chris is. Hope he doesn't let the negative stuff get to him. Lots of those people just love to get something bad on paper! I was hoping he was writing some new songs. CAN"T WAIT til the next CD comes out. But I will. A fan from the beginning. It was great to see the video Home. I was there for his homecomming after Idol. What a GREAT second homecomming. Or I should say 3rd. as he did the freebee there. Or was that the one. Now I'm confused. And I want to add my admiration to the others about his dedication to his wife and family and being a clean band. If more performers were out there with a postive uplifting message as Daughtry is, maybe we wouldn't have tragedy's like VA TECH. There's so much bad stuff in all medias. God Bless, Chris, the band and all their families.

I just love you. Not many "rock" bands are actually trying to keep it clean. You have so much passion for what you do, and it shows through when you talk about forming the band, the songs, how it comes natural to you. I bet Toby Mcquire thinks what you do is hard. I am glad you had such a good time hanging out. There are some perks to being famous.

I loved this interview..
Chris is so funny....
"Rainbow Butt Monkey's"????? OH GAWD NO! he's hysterical.
I love how he talks about Karen....(we are talking about OUR Karen here right?)
What an upbeat interview!

WE LOVE YOU DAUGHTRY!!!!

As others have commented, the interview is very "down to earth" but I think that's how you are. A very real, down to earth, good hearted person. I'm so grateful to hear that your relationship with your wife is better than ever!! My prayers are with you, your family and your band. Take care and God bless!!

Chris, you're a special guy. We'll do our best to keep you planted at the top...
you just keep liking it there!

Grumpy? No sir, Mr. EW writer. Leave it to EW to try to cast a shadow on a star!!!

Love,

Sounds like Daughtry is getting their experience with the media. Chris is right, someone in the entertainment lime light can have ONE bad day, and that is what is focused on. It is never all of the GOOD that surrounds that one bad day. It is sad, but unfortuneately Chris, you are in the spot light now and being watched like a hawk. Paparazzi, crazy fans, etc. are your life. It is sad that it has to be so excessive. People forget that even famous people we all love are just "people". They deserve their bad days, privacy, and time alone with their families.

Good luck! Love the band and dying to see you all in person in INDIANA~

GOD Bless you Chris, your band and your lovely family!

PS I loved what you said about the band when the interveiwer said "what kind of rock band is that?!" and you replyed with "A clean one. One that's hopefully gonna last a long time!" I really loved that answer and that is what I like about you and the rest of the fellas of Daughtry you guys always stay true to yourseleves and your familes which to me is just beautiful and awesome and I am postive you will be here a long time. What is a world without Daughrty?

Chirs, son, I know you're young and strong, and you love what you're doing, but you need to take care of yourself. Yeah, there's millions of fans wanting to see you, but no one can see you if you're sick! Chill if you need to. Take it easy! We'll still be here waiting for you.

Hey,

You seem like such a nice guy! I loved the interview and am glad to hear you are so close with your wife. That is one of the things people love about you is that you are married and have kids. It must be hard to be away. I know it must be hard for your wife to look at all the photos on this website and not be a little jealous. It sounds like you are really working on it though! Good for you!

The "Home" video was great, also! Looks like you are having a blast! Keep up the good work! I loved the show in Birmingham! Can't wait to see you again when you come my way in Alabama! Next time my whole family (I have two sons - 9 years and 5 years) want to come!

I also enjoyed reading this article... Rainbow Butt Monkeys.. sure, that was funny... I thought of KND on Cartoon Network. (I have 5 kids, it's only natural!)

But what I found funnier, being in my 30's, was the mention of other "named" bands like Winger and Nelson!!!! Wow, does that bring back memories of hairspray and leather!

We're so much better off with bald heads and denim jeans! That goes for mohawks, snappy fedoras, and all the rest! I'm thankful the glamor days are over and the music comes first.

Anyway, like everyone else has said... we love that you guys are all true to yourselves and we diehard fans dig it!

Keep it up! Hoping to see you in concert soon!

Laurie
