What Should be Daughtry's Next Single?

OK, I don't usually do this, but I'd love to hear everyone's personal choices for the next single from Leave This Town that we should work at radio. We already have a few front-runners narrowed down, but we do value your opinions, so HIT US!

So RCA Ed, what's the answer?
Any decisions made yet?

"Ghost of Me"!!!

Was surprised "Life After You" was made into a video before this will be; even though LAY was AWESOME!! Would have been even more awesome and special if Mrs. D was in the video instead of an actress!

Music, the best mind-altering substance - gettin' high on D A U G H T R Y forever!!

DAUGHTRY fans are ageless!!! Once a fan, ALWAYS a fan!!!

I think that the next single should be something a little "harder" since the 1st one was more popish and the second was a ballad. So my 1st choice would be Ghost of Me, my 2nd is You Don't Belong and my 3rd is Everytime You Turn Around. I would REALLY like to see Daughtry hit other radion stations and the rock genre. I think that would expand their fan base greatly!!!! Hope that helps ya! Smiling

i really like "everytime you turn around" ! the next song for the radio has gotta be edgy!

Hi,,oh my goodness.....
it's way too difficult for me to decide.....
all the songs are awesome!!!!

here's my opinion..
1st of my choices is Call Your Name
2nd is Learn My Lesson....and
3rd goes to......Supernatural!!! hahaks....

Well, Daughtry!! U guys are superb! a pure talent and I'm a Daughtry addict...yeah!!

hey guys! i really want you to make Sptember as a next single! im in love with this song! so hope it ll be Smiling
greetings from russia!
Sergey

wow its a hard choice because there are so many great songs on the leave this town album but i do think it should be a rocking one so i am leaning towards every time you turn around, what i meant to say ghost or me or september

my love for daughtry is no surprise

Definitely a more upbeat/rockin out song should follow up "Life After You" and "No Surprise" (which are great songs but a bit on the slower side of life) so it is time to bring out the "hardcore" rocking songs on the album...

I'd have to vote for:
"Every Time You Turn Around" as my first choice with
"What I Meant To Say" as my second choice. I think both of those songs would be great for summer radio tunage.

I personally am not a big fan of "Ghost of Me" (lyrically just doesn't seem as catchy as the other two). I really wish that "On the Inside", "Get Me Through", or "What Have We Become" were options as single releases. Really strong songs that should have been more than just bonus tracks....possible to bring out as a single and then put in on LTT as a "regular track" and re-release the album with the bonus tracks and extra video footage? After a couple releases of the kickin' songs I'd pull back again and go with "September" in the fall.

Is there ever going to be a possible full concert DVD/blu-ray released? These live concerts online are great, but the whole download thing doesn't work well for everyone. I would LOVE to have a DVD of a Daughtry concert. They are SO good live, and the idea of them in HD video and surround sound in my living room (not to mention that 3D technology coming up!) would be SWEET! Food for thought. Eye-wink

All just my opinions. Thanks for asking us to share them.

Rocked out with Daughtry @ the Annex, Summerfest, The Target Center, Bradley Center, Meyer Theatre, Alliant Energy Center, US Cellular Arena and at the Resch Center!!

I'de love to hear Ghost of Me or Open Up Yout Eyes as the next single

Too hard to choose. Even though my favorite song on the CD is Call Your Name, I'm in the mood for something a little more rockin'. Leaning toward Ghost of Me and What I Meant to Say.

~ Amy ~

its so hard to choose!
for a ballad, definitely "Call Your Name"
I'de love to hear "Everytime You Turn Around" as the next single!

Kristina Smiling

I'd love to hear September as the new hit single. And I think you should come up to Wisconsin to film it. Smiling I've got the perfect woods & water scenery for you.... Smiling

This is a very hard and somewhat unfair question for me to answer! It's like asking which band member I like the most, it's impossible to choose! I truly love every song but if I had to give an answer I would say-----

Ballad choice-Call Your Name (Chris your vocals on this song are amazing and make me teary eyed every time I listen to it! Great arrangement and heart felt lyrics)

Pop Choice-What I Meant to Say (Up beat sound and very catchy song-a guarenteed hit!)

Rock Choice-Ghost Of Me ( Love to turn this one way up and listen to it, even my 'ultra cool" teenage son loves this one!)

Good luck in choosing! I'm sure any song that gets chosen will be another hit for Daughtry!

Thanks for asking Ed!

They are all awesome!! How do you choose just one? I would probably have to go with Every TIme You Turn Around or You Dont Belong. Love them all and can't stop listening to them.

Any single played on the radio is a good one! But, I want to hear them rocking! So my vote is for ETYTA or Ghost of Me! Love the CD!

First of all, I LOVE this album! My vote for the next single goes to Ghost of Me! As much as I love the ballads on LTT, it's time for a more rocking single. Smiling

I can deal with reality, just don't make me live there..........

I think any song on the album would be a hit but if I had to choose one song that I think should be the next single, I think it would be ETYTA or Ghost of Me.

Rocked with DAUGHTRY:

Gwinnett Arena, Duluth, GA - 6/5/10 (VIP)

Gee that is a hard decision. First I was gonna say ETYTA, but then I thought Tennessee Line then I thought September or Call Your Name. Woot they are all good. Hell I am ready for the next album lol .

RACHEL <3 's Daughtry!! '

I hesitate to say anything out loud because I never seem to agree with the decisions that the execs make but here goes anyway! My absolute favorite song from Leave This Town is September. HOWEVER... having Life After You as the last single, I don't think another ballad should be rolled out yet. My suggestion would be to release Every Time You Turn Around next for it's mainstream appeal of a catchy-hooked rocker... and then follow it up with September. Of course, I would have put On The Inside & Long Way on the record rather than making them bonus tracks so WHAT DO I KNOW??!!??

Since your asking. What I Meant to Say

Every song should eventually be released to different raido stations...this album is perfection and each song deserves air play...next one should definitely be a harder rock sound...my absolute fav on the album is Call Your Name Smiling

Ghost of Me

If not that, "What I meant to Say".

No more ballads.

Faster pace a must.

And preferably I'd like to see a return to the rock or pop/rock side of the band (reminiscent of It's Not Over) which is why the above two suggestions.

Everytime You Turn Around, Ghost of Me, or September Smiling I'm fine with any of these <3

Wow, EVERY song on the CD is so good, what a hard choice. But, I really like Meant To Say, and Ghost of Me, and of course, Call Your Name....Whatever comes out next, I'm sure everyone will love, but I'd like it to be another up beat kinda song....I thought the 3rd single was coming out really soon. I'd like to see it come out before the start of your tour....I'll keep my fingers crossed....

I think the listeners need to hear another side of Daughtry out of this album. My first choice is "September". "Ghost of Me" and "Open Your Eyes"are also great choices.

Jenny

My favorite from the first time I heard the album...Every Time You Turn Around.

Hey Ed,
Thanks for doing this! I kept meaning to start my own unofficial poll, and it's great to know that our opinion does seem to matter, even slightly.
Call me weird (*pauses for the "weird"*) but I gave this a lot of thought - Life After You did NOT get much local airplay around here that I ever heard and I was VERY disappointed with that.

I agree with Lady Valerie - the band should switch the next release back to a more uptempo song. I also remember seeing a post you did oh-so-long ago about rock radio releases not being worthwhile due to insufficient airplay vs. cost to launch etc. So let's save the guys some $$ and heartache - we'll prolly have to stay away from You Don't Belong or Ghose of Me - LOVE THEM but I don't see enough mainstream / AC airplay for them.

My first vote would be for What I Meant to Say - just love that song and I think it would get good airplay - just enough rock edge not to blow out the AC set yet catchy enough lyrics to grab mainstream. It's almost too bad really that the band didn't release this before LAY - I can picture a vid story for this as the "fight" that preceded the "makeup" of LAY.

However, I think the more obvious choice is Every Time You Turn Around - it's already gotten press via the Super Bowl pre game show and the NCAA commercials, so I think people are expecting it. The opening "woo-hoo"s and bounce to the beat are wonderful attention grabbers.
